Wow, that guy really seemed enthusiastic about talking about his stuff and sharing his experiences. The pride and joy he had while showing you around... Amazing.
What a Legend and so humble, it was a pleasure to see his store and initiative ideas , can't believe he's nearly 60 , shows if you love what you do ,it keeps you happy and healthy, Brilliant shop and great video.
I love goif fo fish stores like this where the owner is excited to share and teach. What an organic experience. Oh and that man doesnt look a day over 40! Its clear he takes freat care of himself and of his store.
Fun to watch you interact with an absolute enthusiast. For a lot of fans you are THE authority and seeing someone so excited to show you everything they have is a lot of fun to watch.
Go to see the fish in a fish store. And end up walking into a tardis, and Joey, you’ve got new ideas, new systems, tricks and tips to implement into your gallery for years if not decades to come, all through a chance meet-up with the genius who owns this incredible facility, as you say it’s got everything 🤷♂️ and then some. You have to go back to this store very soon, 🙏 because there is so much more to show your viewers/subscribers, this place is just mind blowing for sure. 🙏👏👍
Wow, I loved it. I've lived in ohio all my life and have been keeping fish for 45 years and have 12 tanks, but i never knew about this store. I saw a video recently about this place on Ohio Fish Rescue. I was amazed that this place has everything for the fish hobbiest. I'm glad you interviewed the store owner. What an intelligent man, his knowledge is irreplaceable. Thanks, joey. i will definitely make a special trip out there. I guess it takes a guy from Canada to show me what's in my own backyard. Thanks again, joey. I'm a big fan of yours. Your enthusiasm for fish keeping and knowledge is also very important to keeping these wonderful creatures in a safe and healthy way to respect their lives each and every day. Thanks, brother. Just loved it!
I agree. I wish i had more time!! I also filmed some other tours and one of them is easily the most decorated aquarium hobbyists i have ever met. He is a master breeder 4-5 times over! Wait for his stories!
@BenOchart I've been to this store several times, only hearing about it a few months ago and it is definitely worth the trip! I'm about an hour from it and find myself going back to it more often. Hope ya make it out!
This place is incredible. Reminds me of the aquarium I worked at and eventually ran back in the day. Ours was complete with a hatchery and distribution center/warehouse. It was a pretty huge operation.
I live about 45 minutes from this store and it’s the only place I go for what I need for my tanks. It’s easily the best aquarium store and it’s always a treat to stop in and see their stock.
Thanks Joey, and thanks to the store owner! What an amazing place he has! I agree, that when he retires the hobby, will lose a brilliant man. I'm thinking he may never really totally retire though, and will always be available to answer questions etc. :) So glad you got to tour the place, and chat with him..and to share it all with us. Wish I lived in Ohio!
Amazing video, store and man behind it! I love getting to see hidden gems like these that I would never be able to see in real life. Thank you so much for sharing! It’s too bad people have to bombard you right in the middle of your video 😢 I would have waited until you were done taking in everything and then said hi to you.
That fella was proud to show off the things he has made and achieved and rightfully so. My poor wallet would never be the same again after I'd spent an hour in that place haha!
Love this place. I had just heard about this place a few months ago and find myself going back to it more often, only being about an hour away from me. Thanks so much for sharing this video! I hope I can have a talk to the owner now for my next tank set up and other helpful info!
Oh dear. How poor I would be if I lived within max, fifty kilometres from this store. What an amazing store and the staff and owner. Super cool. Take care brother.
Been here a couple times with my dad. It's fantastic place. Was always greeted by two dogs outside saying hi (don't know if they are still there, been a few years).
I could spend an entire month inside that store.. So far I'd say that's the best store I've seen in the US.. Hopefully he can stay open for years to come.. thanks for sharing 👍👍😊
There is store near me, I class it as my "local" now, that when you first walk in, has the standard dry goods, tanks, filters, decor etc, but when you take a few steps further forward and start looking at the live stock you see all sorts of insane things. The hobby in the UK is nowhere near as established as you guys in the US/Canada have it, but this place has certificates from everything you can imagine plastered in little hidey holes. Certificates from OATA for being the best family owned aquarium store in the UK. Multiple certificates from Cichlid (both SA, Central, and African, but these guys used to specialise in Africans) breeding. The old man owner (who died a couple years ago and passed the business on RIP) had been in the hobby all his life, now his family carry on his legacy. I've returned full set ups worth of fish (A full male African Peacock stocking) to them, I didn't want anything for it, I was moving/selling tanks up, and they gave me store credit/discount for life. I've argued the difference between my favourite Africans with them (Neolamprologus Brichardi vs Neolamprologus Pulcher) and was happily proven wrong by them. One of the only fish stores I've been to that strike the balance of "need to make money selling fish" , and "need to give REAL, TRUTHFUL, MEANINGFUL advice on advanced set ups for advanced hobbyists, or people who will stay in the hobby". By this, I mean they will sell you 10 Neons for your 60l tank, but they will tell you it is overstocked/not ideal. They will sell you a cheap comet/fancy goldfish for a 60l + tank, but explicitly tell you that goldfish live decades longer than people think, and they need tanks several orders of magnitude larger than people think long term, my favourite comment from the old owners son (who I think owns the place now) was that he wouldn't ever keep goldfish in typical home tank, because they should be in a pond, or a pond sized tank. I have been in the hobby for decades now, and been to a lot of really bad chain stores, and pretty bad private stores. Partly down to my own experience, but also a massive part of Ferrybridge Aquatics experience and processes, I have only ever lost one fish I bought from them, and that was a Betta with dropsy which *shrug* you can't stop that with the amount of inbreeding really. I currently own a large 5ft x 3ft x 2ft tank with a huge 12"+ Oscar, 6 wide bar, red hook, silver dollar, a Jack Dempsey, a Fire Mouth, a Turquoise Severum, an Electric Blue Acara, a Red Tail Ruby Shark, and few BN Plecs that I've sourced from these guys over the years (I've had the Oscar moving from tank to tank for at least 10 years now), and the worst thing that ever happened to this tank was a small Ich outbreak that I fixed in less than two weeks with heat and salt. I once found myself without a tank during a house move because of a pretty catastrophic accident, and these guys held my fish in their own houses for me until I was sorted. A good quality, hobby based, passionate local store is invaluable, I've had so many interactions and conversations with these people that have made my hobby an absolute pleasure, they are worth their weight in gold. P.S. Joey, I've seen your shorts with Big Rich from Ohio Fish Rescue. You need to do a lot more of those! Convince him you need to swim with the Arapaima, I would pay boxing PPV money to see you waist deep in that monster pool/pond.
Hey Joe, so I've skipped thru alot of other channels doing tours like this and usually don't care for them but sir there is something a little different when you do it and gotta say I'm here for it 👍👍
If he has a CNC machine i know for a fact he has electrical knowledge. A man of many hats. So awesome that someone like him has dedicated their life to this hobby. Hes a GOAT just like Joey.
Man everyone needs at LEAST one of these stores in their home town thank you Joey for this! I know Reaper did a little show off this store but you took it to a whole different level. You should buy it 👍🏻😑
This is literally a hobbyist giving back to the hobby. I bet since opening that store he feels he has never worked a day in his life since. 💯 Pure passion.
I didn't catch it if he said so, but would be a blessing if this man has a son or daughter or someone he can pass all that knowledge to... What an asset to this community
If anybody every wants to visit the area for fish the best time is the weekend before Thanksgiving. The Ohio cichlid association extravaganza is that weekend. Big rich has tours at Ohio fish rescue, all the stores have ordered crazy stuff from that weekend. It's awesome, fish nerds dream song many people selling fish out of hotel rooms
Is that counter acting as an overhead filter with loads of rock/surface area trickling down into the mini goldfish feature under it? That is a brilliant idea, and will actually provide a decent amount of bio filtration.
The stingray passed!!!, so sad, she was beautiful. This is just the store, Steve has everything, multiple warehouses of products. He is a great guy. We are spoiled here in north east Ohio with aquatica, agnoquatics, something fishy, boggs aquatics, blue fish. There are even more that I can't think of as well
I have a store by me same name very good store as well but this guy and his store is awesome man if I lived there I would be interested in taking over so impressed
Wow, what an amazing store! I'm surprised the conure has the air flow needed in an acrylic cage. It must have had more ventilation than you could see in the video. We don't have any stores like this where I live!
If you're ever in buffalo we have a few really amazing aquarium stores the biggest one I like is the fish place in north Tonawanda they have a huge selection and I mostly go to see the giant red tail they have in a 1500 gallon aquarium, mystic blue aquarium specializes in breeding flowerhorns and reefs as well as some very high quality arrowana. Niagara aquarium Co is pretty cool too definitely more of a gallery layout. I really like this local nursery and pond company called arbordale nursery and KA ponds they make some very beautiful water features. Definitely worth a day trip to buffalo for some wings and to check out some shops. And I mean they are the most friendly people who run these stores
Wow, that guy really seemed enthusiastic about talking about his stuff and sharing his experiences.
The pride and joy he had while showing you around... Amazing.
Guy is almost 60?? He looks tops late 40's, wow. Awesome store btw!
I thought he was in his 30s, i gasped 😂
All the fish he eats 😊
He's going to live 60 more years and _then_ he will look like 60 😀
@@stevecooper6653 yoooo😂😂
Because he spent his life doing amazing things and more importantly what he loved.
That guy has a wealth of knowledge that i hope he will pass on to someone who will continue the craftsmanship and passion for this hobby!
That someone is 🤷♂️ Q... Joey, that would be amazing, even more so if they got footage of it. 🏴👍
It is sad if all his knowledge doesn't get passed down.. Problem is no one wants to work hard or learn anymore :(
Steve is an amazing dude. We own a shop about 30 mins west of him and he is always willing to help and gives advice when needed.
Man the owner is awesome! He builds basically everything in that place and has so many cool fish and is able to share anything about tank making!
I have been going to this store for about 15 years.
The owner and his family are great.
What a Legend and so humble, it was a pleasure to see his store and initiative ideas , can't believe he's nearly 60 , shows if you love what you do ,it keeps you happy and healthy, Brilliant shop and great video.

That store looks amazing. I am just as intrigued with store layout and setup too.

I have never seen a fish store this nice before. I could spend a full day in there. I love mom and pop shops.
1 of your best videos ever. So nice to see you nerding out 😊
The whole trip i did it. I NEEDED it.
My first saltwater tank was from this place and met Joey other day at meetup . So this extra cool to watch ❤
I’ve never seen a better store! Lots of love in that place.
Same. The only options I have for stores are PetSmart and PetCo
Great video. Yous guys' discussion was priceless. Information packed!!
I agree. I wish i had more time!! I also filmed some other tours and one of them is easily the most decorated aquarium hobbyists i have ever met. He is a master breeder 4-5 times over! Wait for his stories!
The King of DIY meets the Emperor of DIY! Both of you guys are bosses, salute!
Wow! To have Joey show up at your store! Nice!
Awsome tour, The guy seems to be the “Diy King of USA” Phenomenal talent and store. Thanks for sharing.
The modest competence of this fish store owner is amazing. Now I have to drive to Ohio! Thanks Joey.
Wow… wish I had a shop like that in my area… fantastic and he has so much knowledge 😮
I enjoyed your interaction with the owner and of course I love that store!
Love this fish store! Most of my fish came from Aquatica! You were close to my home, Joey.
I live about 45 minutes from this store and it’s the only place I go for what I need for my tanks. It’s easily the best aquarium store and it’s always a treat to stop in and see their stock.
Hey joey im from ohio near this place and i just wanted to thank you for taking your time to visit and make a video of this place
Thanks Joey, and thanks to the store owner! What an amazing place he has! I agree, that when he retires the hobby, will lose a brilliant man. Awesome store. I will definitely make a trip from Missouri to go to this store
That man shows passion! And I love his knowledge and creativity.
Wow Joey you need to get this guy up to show us how to make our own mix and make acrylic and abs tanks
Wow! What a great place. Run by a real hobbyist 😊
What a fantastic store!!👍👍

This video just gets better and better ! Thank you for sharing with us !
That fella was proud to show off the things he has made and achieved and rightfully so.
My poor wallet would never be the same again after I'd spent an hour in that place haha!
My wallet has never been the same since I got into salt water tanks about 15yrs ago :)..
Love this place. I had just heard about this place a few months ago and find myself going back to it more often, only being about an hour away from me. Thanks so much for sharing this video! I hope I can have a talk to the owner now for my next tank set up and other helpful info!

Fantastic, thank You for the movie showing me that place and people.
Wealth of knowledge! Can see Joey’s excitement talking to him.
Wow... Outstanding how he has crafted so many great ideas into his work. Takes the hobby to a new level
Love that you went to OFR, great guy and friend, but also an amazing hobbyist!
Been here a couple times with my dad. It's fantastic place. Was always greeted by two dogs outside saying hi (don't know if they are still there, been a few years).

That's crazy he's not far from me and his store is beautiful. Makes me want to go just to look even though I don't have any aquariums.
That’s the best shop I have ever seen ❤
The stingray passed!!!, so sad, she was beautiful. This is just the store, Steve has everything, multiple warehouses of products. He is a great guy. Top man and top shop , excellent only down fall I wished I living in America not uk just for that shop😊
Wow we went to watch a fish store but finished up with a ton of wisdom 😅
