oh my, I love biscotti and now I know how to make it!!! That looks wonderful.
I remember we had a hickory nut tree in the pasture down the road. We'd have to wait till the bull had left to get to the tree. several times the Bull waited for us kids and would charge us. It was many times we'd be stuck up the hickory nut tree with the mad bull below wating to horn us as soon as we come down.
We didn't get that many hickory nuts when the bull was close by
"the kids and the parents get together with the nuts and stuff" haha awh she is so precious(:

A really sweet lady. I hope the person who is videoing her is taking real good care of her with the proceeds of the dvd's they are making.Then she will never have to live poor again. A lot of this cooking is nothing new to me cause of my own upbringing but I just like to watch her she is soo sweet. I am glad for her that she is still able to do all these things.

I love this quote...."Italians don't bake, they cook." This is so right, neither side of my Italian family do much baking. They are great cooks but not into baking cookies or cakes.

Making this in the oven right now..my logs did not look as big and wet as Clara's though..wonder why? I used exactly the same amts..my dough seemed too dry..added tiny bit more oil, not much..also I dont think my logs got as brown but I went ahead and cut them and turned them on their sides to cook again and then flip..maybe they will get browner that way. I use an electric stove so hers maybe gas and cook differently..I tasted the dough it seemed good to me. Will find out soon, lol.
I've been anxiously awaiting another Clara video. Thank you Clara for giving us a peek into an era a long time ago. I am going to look for your book today! Merry Christmas!
