First up, cool you manage to pronounce the Katastrophe right, ha ha. I got the Fernweh and Tesla Wolf, love them both. Great company. Lot's of cool pedals for sure.
That pedal is like my cats. When company is over, they want to cuddle in someone's lap, they act cute, and they're super polite. As soon as the company leaves, they knock over the lamps, take a dump on the area rug, and start a sumo wrestling match. I need one.
I'm a pretty traditional blues-rock guitarist but I LOVE JPTR FX. The Fernweh and the Kaleidoscope are two of my favorite pedals of the last few years. I even dig most of Chris's fuzzes that I've heard too. I might have to explore this one too, even though I don't use heavy gain very often because that Octave control is SICK.
You might wanna check out the JPTR Silvermachine then. Has a similar octave sound but is more on the old schoolier fuzz side. Still extremely violent if you need it to be.
@@Room89 - Yeah, I really like the Silvermachine. But with 100+ fuzz pedals in my collection and it’s not very pedalboard friendly housing, I’ve passed in getting one. Maybe I could ask Chris to rehouse one in a more usable enclosure?
The Katastrophe is a sick pedal, I love mine. And I removed my HM-2 style pedal from my board, because the Oct Up sounds kinda similar, but more nasty.
Yes, I like crazy pedals! It is extrem but also very versatile. I think you can play for hours and trying out different adjustments and sounds... It's on my list of pedals I have to buy.
Violent, yet very articulate. Go easy on the gain n volume though(with a dirty amp) ,my noise gate can barely keep up with the output of this thing. All in all, Im very pleased w my first jptr fx pedal.
At the peak of its chaos, it sounds kind of like a hippopotamus letting one loose. Don’t believe me? Look it up. NOTE: the hippopotamus is my spirit animal, so I back this 100%.
Hey Fluff, any chance we get a Mesa Boogie Triple Crown revisit video? also, why do you never have any Ibanez guitars on the channel? Keep up the great content dude!
This is pretty cool but frankly has been utterly outdone by the life pedal. They basically have very similar functions with the octave, but the life pedal has considerably better OD. I know because I ironically ordered one a few weeks before getting the life pedal and when it showed up I was like, "Well.... crap!" Same idea, but there is no way this thing is gonna replace the life pedal in my chain. I tried! Side by side.. Life pedal came out victorious.
"fuck your ears with nine volts only" I am SOLD
This pedal is awesome. I bought it a couple of months ago, and it has become my go-to distortion effect.
That's some kick ass playing fluff! Sounds awesome!

Sounded very HM-2 when you kicked on that octave. Noice.
Thats why I like the octave up. I feel like it sounds like a Hm2 that lived in the sewers for a few years.
Sounds awesome! Also that RD with the fortitude in the bridge has the tones that dreams are made of!
One of my favourites distortion out there ❤ Love JPTR stuff, always bringing great quality chaos machines

@@JPTRFX Thanks!!
Mastodon tones with mastodon riffs and a mastodon beard, of course
"tons and tons of money"
I legit lol'd.
ONE BILLION

At first I was like "ok yeah this sounds alright..." Then you hit the Octave Up and I did a double take. Holy fuck.
Badass guitar my brother!!
What does the large knob in the upper left do?

That thing is neither Ballad nor Eardrum friendly.... I want it! 😎
OHMMACHT!!!!! Is the way!!!!
3:03 is exactly the tone of System Of A Down - Protect the land
Whoa this sounds insane
How did this pedal turn your mix into Mastodon??? Cool :)

Thanks for sharing this!
I've been curious!
Way-Killer sounding pedal!
Peace
M
My ears said wait wtf is that when you hit the Oct up button. That things sounds wild.
Sounds killer.
What does this retail for?
Its pretty sleazy Mr F.
I love oversized knobs
That pedal is a wicked sounding mother trucker!
Sounds incredible! Too many knobs for my pea-brain though
Did anyone try it on bass? How does it sound?
This awsome pedal is not available in indonesia
I think this might work for some cky tunes.

Haw u bought it ?
in the event that you were hoping someone would notice, the 104 sounds cleaner than the sm7b.
The alignment of the print with the pots is quite a katastrophe 😀
Seeing the font, I immediately thought this was either a Russian Muff, or a Sovtek in a box.
Dang 😳

4:49 that was disgusting
Fuck the pedal I want the RD🤘🤘
That's absolute FILTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like a cross between a laser gun battle on Star Wars and a rat pedal overdosed on steroids ? Sounds pretty nasty……
Fluff’s gonna retire early from all the billions he’s making from pedal demos.

The Katastrophe has a completely different distortion circuit. If you throw a Rat in front of it, you can get pretty life pedalish tones out of it.
@@eaglebauer944 it sounds really similar to the Life, regardless. Too similar. You wouldn't need both of them (I have both).
@@neoconnor4395 Considering the price of the Life, I wouldn't buy it anyway.
@@eaglebauer944 I stopped buying pedals completely. Waste of money. Plugins are better.
wait, is that a Russian name? UNSUB
Its german...
Boss gx 100 is better)))
i think you are missing the point
That is the worst so called guitar playing I have ever herd
