Thanks for posting this! Now that I'm retired and have the time, I want to resume my iron Palm training. This will be a great way to get back into it. Thanks again and much respect to the ancients!
Dude, Here in Brazil, we use small steel balls, those of bicycle! They are great for filling these bags! I am bak Siu Lum Practitioner, from the school of Grand Master Chan Kowk Wai, lineage of Ku Yu Cheung!
thanks for the compliment. I used jeans and Gi peices for a long time. still have some of my first but they are duct taped. I find that the bags take alot of abuse. Since you aren't trying to destroy the bag but use it to train instead...it lasts. the good thing is that you can keep an eye on it as you go and add tape if you feel you need to. I have only added tape when the bag gets " loose" and isn't as firm as I like. 12 years I have been going off and on. just dedicated myself to it last fall
sweet!...you know the great thing is is that there are many ways to achieve iron Hand and it is cool to learn from each other and grow. as a friend said to me we are the minority of minorities that pursue and train iron hand. best to you. happy slapping!
thanks for asking...means alot people are wanting my view on this stuff... first...I use cinder blocks...no need for spending more than 5 dollars and for me I am cheap. well can't afford "special Tables" seems silly to me to have a table when i can get the cinder blocks. second....I use dit da jow but I also use a hotwater soak for about 3 minutes after workout with epsom salt or table salt. can use absorbine Jr. or things like bengay...to open they blood vessels to allow faster healing...
cool idea..in fact if I had one I would probably use it. People use tires so rubber is a valid material..the use of such a thick rubber, in my mind ( again never used one),would allow for pushing strikes .. I could see it helping but remember an old rule is ...the harder the object , the harder the hands will be....I could see the rubber being alot like how and why I use my rice bag. Lots of give to rice but it allows me to feed my technique through. when you hit ,
Alright, i'll get some cinder blocks. Where do you suggest I buy Dit Da Jow. I was mainly asking about the duration of each training session, not actually just doing it then saying fudge this i'm going to go eat me some cake. I intend to stay physically active for the rest of my days. I've been dieting/exercising for 6-8 hours a day. I went from never being active to being active, and it feels awesome. I love every ach and pain I get from running, and lifting weights.
Hello. That Bag Is Awesome. As i look at it, i was saying to myself :"that bag is tight." So i was wondering - Has anyone ever used something other than a "Bag", like a Diving Brick ? This is a Solid Rubber Brick incasing a Steel Mass so that it will weight 10 lbs. It's sometimes called a "10 lb Water Diving Brick." These are used by swimmers & divers for underwater exercises. It has "some give" being that it's made out of rubber but not much. It's tight also. Thank You for Your Time.
I went from never being physically active, to walking 21.6 miles a day. Now i'm starting run. Have a lot of fat to shade, but i'm going to be nerfed. I get motivated by the people around me, who's entire existances revolve around t.v watching, fast food, spending time a shitty bar, etc. They don't read anything either, or learn anything. Unless you count watching storage wars as learning something, I hate that show... I'm not trying to sound mean or anything, it's just the worlds, so open.
Hey, I was wondering about what you use for an Iron Palm Table. Do you just use cement bricks. I really don't want to pay a lot of money for an Iron Palm Table. Bags are expensive enough at is, and I know their "special tables" pretty expensive as well. Also I was wondering if you use any like bone treatment medicines or anything like that? I want to start practicing this to condition my bones/skin. Also was wondering how long I should do this for before stopping. Don't want to damage my hands.
Now would it affect if i wore gloves of some type. Is it best to use bare hand to do a proper "Iron fist" training. And if you would know anything about Drunken Boxing hit me up with some tips please XD. I plan on learning it some point once i get stronger hands Please and Thank you for the video.
sorry so long in responding! sorry...comp. issues...yes you can...justr work with the tape maybe to make edges that can be nailed though keeping the integrity of the bag ...should not be a problem. I have built a wooden dummy and have two of these bags for punching ....so ...secured properly it should work fine.
hold and push for about 2 to 3 seconds on the strike. should at least help you with firm strong delivery. Let me know how it goes and what you think of it if you do use it. thanks.
I am trying to seek out more info and training. I am also trying to contact you. I have some breaks and feel i have lost my technique and require your attention with advice. Please respond so that we can find an easier way to communicate. I am working for my lvl 1 coconut with iron palm training..eventually level 2. Thank you so much in advance
dit da jow is best...and fastest...but you have to work with what you have. as far as how long...two things...this is not a journey you can start and then stop....you will have to maintain this training for the duration of ...well the rest of your life as an active martial Artist....I have an instruct vid on how to do this and I talk about the half hour a day approach...depending on how many surfaces? this helps I hope
thanks for the questions buddy!! I will say first...barehands. defeats the purpose to hit with a glove on. as far as the Drunken Fist...good luck. Love the movies and such but personally I practice Shorin-ryu Karate. if you ever find a drunken style ...let me know.
Everyone, so lazy. They have to take their car everywhere, even if it's to a location maybe a half a mile away. I sound very judgemental don't I. Oh well, I just want to go about the world happy. Kind of went into a tengent sorry. Thanks for the assistance.

I just fold an old cotton towel around my bags so that I can wash it easily when needed.
Sounds like a good idea.

What method do you recommend for beginners?
Would you mind clarifying exactly what you mean please? The bag? The training? The material? Just so I can directly answer. Thank you
