Two bangers in a row guys - great review as usual. Now you’ve hit 200k subscribers may I humbly suggest you guys invest in either a hardware de-esser like the dbx 286s or post process the audio with something like isotope RX to get rid of those ear bleeding sibilants 👍🏼

This game really looks incredible, from a presentation standpoint and if the combat is as good as the animations portray it to be, then wow.

Got the game today and was playing for 4 hours straight. It's hard to take breaks when getting drawn in such an outstanding game. Oh, and I love the rats, their cute whistle voices :3 and the overall art style.

Hey odd bug just finished this game. It’s truly one of my favourite games. Great progression, audio/visual, and a surprisingly in depth world. Can’t wait to start another run, thanks so much for everything!!!!
This is such a strategic game. I love how you must manage you equipment to prepare for the horde of enemies you must slay. This makes the game not very linear.
This game immediately made me think of Brian Jaques; Redwall series.
So to hear you say it was one of the inspirations... well I can see it.
The Red Wall books were phenomenal.

I was a huge fan of the Redwall novels when I was young. Martin the Warrior was the GOAT. Might buy this just on that basis 🤩

i remember reading a book called *Perloo The Bold* as a kid and loved it.
then of course i found the Redwall series.
I really like the graphics of this one.
I love them too. Very detailed and I just like the medieval style art.
It feels like the game is difficult but absolutely fair by allowing him to get tanky and have permanent healing ability
I just got the game and it really is fair. The bosses require some patience and studying, but once you beat them it's a great feeling.
Would you say it’s easier than Hollow Knight?

@@NueThunderKing I played only the demo of Blasphemous so I can't really compare those two. I'm 5hrs in Tales of Iron and have beaten three bosses who do indicate with what move they're gonna attack, but it maybe requires fighting them again and again until you figure stuff out. Also, lots of save points in this game so basically no unnecessary back travelling is involved like in other souls games.

This looks beautiful. Though I'm not a fan of "souls-like difficulty" since I'm nearing 40 and would rather come home from work and play a game to relax not to stress out.
Surprisingly enough (for me at least), the difficulty in Dark Souls actually relaxes me more than it stresses me. I think it’s because dying is such an integral part of the experience and that it isn’t as much of a punishment as in other games that I don’t really get stressed by it anymore.
Playing new souls games stresses me but replaying old souls games is such a therapeutic experience since you know exactly where to go and how to beat down enemies

How is the character progression handled? Can you farm areas for xp to get stronger like Dark Souls? Do places respawn if you use a bench? Also, is it 60 fps/1080p on Switch? (Trying to choose between Steam version and Switch)
This game looks amazing! I’m not sure I’m ready for another tough one as I am currently wrapping up the end game content on Hollow Knight.
Dont worry since Silksonng wont come out the next 5 years, there is plenty of time for this game
Hollow knight is still the best thing I’ve played in the past few years by far

The animation and combat is really an achievement for a smaller team, storybook illustration work really well

I have been waiting for this beautiful game to release but man this thing about you and your brother fighting for the crown in the intro reminds me of Lemmiwinks vs Wikileaks from South Park XD

Any idea on the fps? I'm asking because 30 fps content looks pretty bad on my TV, and would get this on another platform if its 30 fps on the switch.

I loved this game. It's incredibly beautiful, the gameplay is perfectly paced, and the bosses are decently challenging (though I had to restart on the easy mode because I couldn't do the first boss on normal mode 😅).

i recently bought a ps5, i was cocky thinking i would be able to have it alongside the switch. my switch sharing a budget with a playstation? I should have known better.. oh well, Astros playroom will have do for the next few years
This looks great and so does eastward I will deffo get both. But only enough for one first as my backlog is quite hectic. What would you recommend this or eastward to play first?
I am playing Eastward at the Moment. IT IS cute ans fun, but not challenging. So I think of depends, If you want fun or challenge 😉

I've almost finished this game (on the last boss, he's tough!) and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I do have a couple of issues though - for me at least, I've found it a bit buggy. I've had a number of crashes, mainly when you're travelling from one area to the next. I've also had the sound mess up a few times, or just stop entirely and, like the review said, I also lost control of my character a couple of times. Finally, and this is more about the game design, I find it quite hard sometimes to 'see' Reggie during battles when there are a number of enemies/npcs on screen at the same time - the brown/muted visual style makes everything blend in together a bit, and this is accentuated even more when the screen fades to black and white when your energy is low. I guess one could argue this makes the game more realistic, but for me I just found it frustrating. As I said though, it's still a fantastic game and a huge recommendation.
How much of an issue is HUD on switch lite? Can it be considered dealbreaker on its smaller screen?

Brian J, Redwall comic? I didn't know they made one. But the original 22 books I had known about. They are some of the coolest fictional animal kingdoms an their foresty underworld. Some of the best books I read back in the day. Along with Fablehaven series. Reading keeps the imagination alive.
I'm yet to come across the game on Switch where the small text size is an issue. And I do wear glasses... maybe you should start to, Mark :D!

Bug Fables meets Darkest Dungeon for a date in Salt and Sanctuary. More just the art style and charm than mostly mechanics of course, but it looks really good for a Soulsbourne style game. May try this out after Eastward, but right now Eastward is too amazing to stop playing right now. Only thing I play right now other than Eastward is Earth Born :)
If only if I didn’t blow my budget on Baldo, I would have definitely get this one along with Eastward this month.

I JUST picked this up, it was on my Switch Wishlist for a bit, I'm a HUGE fan of the Redwal novelsl (may Brian rest in peace) and I grew up on anthropomorphic animal characters like the Rescue Rangers and the like so it drew me in even though I'm not the biggest fan of Souls style combat but this is a bit more forgiving in the fact you're not set back too badly if you die, unlike other Souls games where you are punished quite harshly at times, there's also the fact it actually HAS difficulty levels you can choose at the start unlike 90% of Souls style games which just have a default 'curve' learning and "Get good quick" kind of difficulty. I was just scrolling my Wishlist on Switch earlier today and saw the game was 75% off...making the game $6.99 USD, a right steal and it also has the DLC included.
I've been having fun with it, and while the Clangers style whistle talk CAN get a little annoying in long bouts of gameplay, the frequent save points make it easy enough to take a break if it starts grating on the nerves too over much. I'm US born and raised so I never grew up with the Clangers, only heard of them so getting to play a game where all the 'talking' is done in that way and with pictures minus the narrator is unique at the least. Can't say it's a bad buy, especially for the price I got it and the fact that it's fun, even for someone like me who doesn't really like Souls style games...but I will play them sometimes like Hollow Knight and this.
