    Incredible knife! That specially-made YP Leuku blade is just beautiful and certainly one-of-a-kind. One day I will do one of the smaller-sized YP blades. I have a Lauri Leuku blade, but I still haven't made a handle for it...I hope to soon. GREAT work and and very well done on the sheath too, Osmo!

    Great knife Osmo! Your work is superb as always and Mr. Makinen did a good job with the blade. I think you should try using an angle grinder with a flap disc for the rough shaping. Your belt sander needs a lot of time to do the job, especially with a hard wood like this one.

      Victor Lindgren Thank you Victor. The blade always has the main role, I think. Trying just to cope with rest of it, keeping the balance, you know.

    Queston 1 more for you . the D ring you used , i see it comes threw the leather , is their a cross bar that connects the U to make the D .. 2 piece ?

    • @thetopicala
      @thetopicala  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lucky B Hi, no there isn't. It's a unwelded D-ring that I have opened only a bit and strung it into the holes. After that hammered back to the form. Thanks, Osmo

    Beautiful work! I have a couple questions on your leather work. I recently got into it, and I am having trouble getting my leather to dye evenly, it tends to streak, and also once completed my sheaths have a very hard, stiff finish, even after oiling with Neat's foot oil they are still super hard. Can you give me any advice on how to prevent both of these from occurring? Thanks

    • @thetopicala
      @thetopicala  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +William Logue Hi William. Great that you like it. Which stain you use. Every different stain brand may work differently and also the leather may affect on the final result. You should change and try other supplier from time to time with both stain and leather and you could find better solution. Veg tanned leather usually gets harder after drying process and by oiling it may become a bit softer. Hope this helps. Osmo

    An GREAT project my friend...but sir, you are remiss...there are not nearly enough images of the completed knife, the handle especially...or are you saving this for the recipient first?!
