    But Kenya is stronger.....1 Kenyan shilling is 31.81 in uganda and in Tanzania is 19.77....1 Dollar was 98 in Kenya shillings but the covid and the war that is ongoing on in Ukraine it jumped to, 117.96....Kenya never give up ,we alway fight the challenges ,May GOD protect the president to make good decisions

    The best way to analyse this scenario is by using a factor called PPP (purchasing power parity) examine cost of a basket of goods of a certain amount of money in kenya shilling,then convert the same to naira see howmuch worth of goods u can buy there

      Once you arrive the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you'll get a sim immediately and you can as well ask them to open an e-wallet known as mpesa. It's as easy as that.

    I don't agree with this, We should be fighting our government in Nigeria to build our country not encouraging people to come to other people's country. You can go to kenya because the people and their government are building a nation unlike Nigeria government that is only interested in looting the country dry while all the citizens are looking to run away.

    what you forget to mention is that . what 61,000 Naira will get you in Nigeria and what 12,000 shillings will get you in kenya . 61,000 is probably in some area in capital city like Lagos . a yearly rent . and 12,000 shilling is like 2months rent for a bedsitter in Nairobi .

    I'm Kenyan but I have this to say: the true value of a currency is in its demand. The yen and the shilling are almost equal relative to the dollar, but the shilling is not a world currency. Let's stop fighting over scraps; let's dominate the world.

      There's heavy devaluation of Naira and that's why things are extremely expensive in Nigeria.

      Stay in your country dont be flooding other people's countries,it breeds resentment from locals. Migrate to ghana,benin or togo or cameroon. Those are your neighbours. Leave kenya for ugandans and other east africans,we understan each other better.       No it not. Ghana true value is around 700 cedis to a dollar but the y drop the zeros and the people think it single digit. Ghana is more expensive than most subsaharan countries because of that.

      You're probably correct David Sparks. But as at the time the video was released, US dollars was a reference currency worldwide and it's still as we speak. Nobody knows what might happen tomorrow.

    Nigeria has two exchange rates: the official exchange rate which is pegged to the dollar and doesn't fluctuate much and the black market (parallel) rate which is actually a truer reflection of the value of the Naira. No one really uses the official exchange rate since you would have to get that rate from the Central Bank of Nigeria which never has any dollars (currently has a backlog of $6bn). You have to go through a process called NOTAP which takes 6+ months

    I think nigerians should start by investing in those former french colonies chad niger cameroon etc we cant have fellow african countries in this day and age paying taxes to enrich a european country france has a strnglehold on this countries resources i wonder what is discussed in those ECOWAS meetings or its just a talk shop.
