- This is the Ferrari SF90 XX. The SF90, perhaps the least-loved of modern Ferraris, needed a little shove to stand in the limelight, so Ferrari’s answer has been to go harder and use a formerly very exclusive programme name.
The Ferrari SF90 XX is the first XX car to be road legal. It wasn't in the original production plan for the SF90, which tells you something about its gestation.
It’s a decade since Ferrari’s last extra-special-series XX car, the La Ferrari-based FXX-K, was introduced. It was thought that Maranello had so far either made fewer than a hundred XX-branded cars in total. There’ll be nearly 1400 SF90 XXs, divided between coupes and convertibles.
It’s got some very special design features and specification upgrades: it makes 1016bhp at 7900rpm, can do 0-62mph in 2.3sec and has a 199mph top speed. And of course it’s a plug-in hybrid which can do 18 miles on electricity alone. It cost £730,000. Join our editor-at-large Matt Prior as he tests the Ferrari SF90 XX Spider form.

Wow, Audio is terrible in this review. No good sounds from the car either.

Thankfully the presenter is insanely charismatic and entertaining to watch.
He’s recording with the top down - never going to be easy to nail the audio !
To me it seems like the audio recorder had a noise reduction function enabled, which unfortunately seems to have also reduced the actual sound of the vehicle.
@@GentTubeno, it's actually pretty easy. They don't have a proper wind guard on his lav mic. Sounds like they had to do a ton of processing to rescue the recording.
I love Autocar videos but audio quality has been a problem in dozens of videos over the last couple years. Even the stationary pieces to camera are often rough. Matt Prior is an AMAZING presenter and I wish there was as much effort put into production quality as he puts into his reviews.

Based on the count of SF90’s I saw in Miami last week for the F1 race, I’d say they’re pretty popular! Easily 2-3 SF90’s for every other Ferrari.

Please use Izotope RX post-production when the audio quality during driving is this poor. Save it when the production team misses the mark.
Things always a bit of a let down on the vid quality and so forth and so on….one expects same quality as the magazine..

I know of a guy who brought his straight piped 812 to an SF90 test drive event and all the factory drivers wanted to drive his car. Pretty much sums up why the SF90 is not well loved.
Yeah kinda a shame Ferrari went the route of focusing solely on performance instead of incorporating more of the driving feel and emotional experience into the equation. I get that they aren’t as big and well funded as Porsche to make a GT3 type offering that is still as unadulterated as modern regulations allow, but you’d think for the XX programme with clientele who have near unlimited budgets that they would have been able to offer up something along those lines.
@@ALMX5DP I've always characterized it as Ferrari's GT-R. It's a devastatingly fast GT. While the standard car is kind of meh, compared to an 812, the FXX is probably where the car needs to be to be exciting.

This is as much an "XX" car as a 911 GT3 is a Group GT3 racecar.
Outside looks awesome. Stripped out interior sucks. Exterior is what the Assetto Fiorano package on the base SF90 should have looked like, with options to either keep the interior luxury or strip it out. This is nothing more than a new trend - cleverly prebuilt packaging combined with limited runs to artificially inflate the value of vehicles. A trend that I hope will come to end when the market becomes saturated with a broad variety of limited run vehicles that people can choose from, eventually deflating their value.
Terrible terrible audio makes watching this really unpleasant - I skipped much of it. Moving towards unsubscribing, with some other recent content feeling like things are going downhill :( Not wanting to complain, just hope you guys can pick things up. Thank you.

The intro is a bit all over and perhaps needed a little rehearsing. The camera and audio are also a bit all over/bad quality. Sorry to say it but the budget “TH-camrs” often do a better job than this
Does not seem very excited to be driving a 1000+ hp Ferrari. I can't afford this car, but if I could I am not sure I would still want one after this.

Not sure if its the mic placement, i reckon the audio needed a bit more work in post. Might be worth switching back to the previous equipment used, not sure why this sounds as though you're talking in a fishbowl.
The car looks impressive, but a bit fussy. The 296 GTS is a real beauty in comparison, and has more than enough power and performance. So what is the point of this SF90 XX ? For looks, I would choose a Revuelto any day over this one 😄
So this is the latest in state-of-the-art track focused roadcar.
And the wing is fixed. Not adjustable. Neither from the inside or the outside. Not automatically either.
Does this mean that the hightech wings of Porsches, McLarens, Ford GT, Paganis, Koenigseggs and ofcourse the crazy Zenvo TSR-S. Are all bull?

Worst review - ever.
Ferrari, a brand so in love with itself they've failed to realise it's all going south. It's become a thief, mugging the vulnerable rich. Not car fans, just the stinking stupid rich with little or no taste. £700K for this pseudo xx or £500k with options for the NEW 12Chlamydia. Sorry Cilindri. Bring back some order, bring back Pininfarinia. Make Ferrari, Ferrari again.
