PTKM-1R: Russia’s Most Advanced Anti-Tank Mine in Ukraine

- What makes a single, buried device more dangerous than a battalion of tanks? Within the harsh strategic landscape of the Ukrainian conflict, the answer lies beneath the mud and blood: the PTKM-1R, a Russian landmine with a chillingly intelligent bite. It hunts not soldiers, but the huge metal beasts they drive, aiming for the vulnerable core of Ukraine’s Main Battle Tanks.

What a great weapon for Abrahms tanks.
is there more footage in action of this weapon? I bet the Leopard is helpless against it too!
Mines and drones are the Apex predator of tanks.
I won't lie. That's the coolest mine I've ever seen. Amazing!
This actually surprises me, i bet its expensive, But i think tanks cost way more
Mine costs about $120,000 dollars(price is from the M93 Hornet made in 1996, similar concept of operation; compared to a Bradley at $5 and a modern tank at $10-15 million dollars), monitors about 200 m (656 feet) around itself) and it has a lifespan maximum of two weeks. It self-destructs at that point; I really like this part because conventional mines remain long after the conflict ends and continue to kill and destroy. On May 31 of 2022, the deputy head of the Russian occupation of the Kherson region declared that the Ukrainian counterattack in this region had been stopped thanks to the deployment of this mine. It is highly effective against armor.
@@MM-te8tz lolwut? Where you found such price? 😂 In Russia even cruise missiles are cheaper.
@@MM-te8tzthere's no way russia is making mines of 120k LOL

I honestly believe that Russia is holding back its most lethal weapons in the Ukraine conflict just in case NATO decides to intervene overtly. It seems that French troops will be the first to be hit with new weapons systems just like UK special forces were the first to be destroyed by a hypersonic missile in combat.
I think the same that you.
The problem is if China jump in the fight too as Iran and North Korean troops . That will be very dangerous to the world.
I agree, because otherwise we would have seen black roses all over Ukraine
💯
100
Russia also has armor piercing anti tank heat seeking
Its more like an automated ambush than a traditional mine. Its basically a suicidal guy with a tomahawk you can hide behind every wall or bush and tree. This and their ai powered missile system seems more advanced than what I expected.
All the best Russia ❤❤

For some reason it didn't want to post what I would do but I would make it so the mines would send feedback. If its activated to add insult to injury. Not only did you lose that tank, but you're about to lose everything in the vicinity and by doing so because the Russians have a significant length advantage in missiles, they can keep their launchers way back and just engage when the mines say they're activated. The only thing you would have to hide in the woods would be a UAV so it's a first hit every single time
That's just what I would do if I were fighting this conflict from a Russian point of view. I'm just kind of curious why this would be erroneous

Not unlike the funnel web spider in its sensor capability in identifying its prey by means of reading its characteristic vibrations.
Very interesting video. Sad that such progress is used for war and not for peace..These weapons might be used in the future to track non compliant citizens (for drones and satellites 100% sure). But on the contrary, I can imagine such devices to send safety belt on water for people who are detected sinking. Let's have faith in the best.
most modern progress comes from militar use development, Internet being maybe the greatest one
No military alliance please,as this created war
A lot of technologies were born from war including computers and internet.
Excellent idea, but any videos of it working? We’ve seen lots of armored vehicles hitting pressure mines.
How do you imagine this? The cameraman must sit in a minefield and wait for the passage of enemy vehicles?😂

Russia is fighting in a very clever manner
So before you use tanks, you send a drone along the way and check if there are these sitting ducks. Then, if you find them, you drive with a smaller vehicle to the mine and pick it up.
One piece of art
Awesome Work Russia ! 😎👍💪
Cool but they seem very vulnerable to mine clearing operations. Either those explosive ropes they shoot to clear paths through minefields or specialized vehicles with heavy top armour or even just shooting the thing.
Crazy, a mine with a built-in Javelin missile equivalent.

This is a variation of a South African patent I was trained in and employed in Angola in 1986.

Us dropped sensors with radio, to detect moment in Vietnam.
The vietcong tied a donkey near it, simulation "action"......
You forgot about the vibration sensors.
and seismic sensor
It looks for specific seismic fingerprints. Meaning it can tell the different between the rumbling and sound of the motor of a tank versus a large truck for example.

A.I. can't spell & I can't see where I'm typing on a celhonre)
I have no idea how wars are fought. Thanks god. But this mine to me seems to have a major flaw. A man can walk up to it and simply deactivate it. It is not hidden and will only go off if something very heavy and loud like a tank approaches. So how is this thing protected from simply getting deactivated by for example a recon unit?
Good points!
Like any weapon system, it's not to be used on its own. It's obviously not placed where it can be spotted easily, and most likely the surrounding area is covered by anti-personnel mines.
The way troops move in areas that are most likely mined is through paths deemed safe by sappers. 100 meter target radius is quite a lot, so tanks may feel free to move over a demined area following a "safe" path. But then get a nasty surprise from above.
Recon units don't move over minefields because that would slow them down significantly, and de-mining is very dangerous at night...

SLAVA RUSSIA 🇷🇺❤️👍✊👊
Greetings from Holland, we are not all brainwashed
Tanks would soon be outdated as drones would soon start firing tank projectiles
How does an army advance , they have to cross their own minefields . . They probably leave unmarked corridors
Almost all modern Russian mines have the ability to deactivate or set a trigger time, after which they self-detonate. And of course, minefields are carefully documented.
@@vladimirnikolskiyArmy records and carefully documented are mutually exclusive terms in my experience? Of course my experience is limited.
Bouncing Betty on steroids
Is this a ChatGPT/other-LLM written script? The usage of the words and the frequent repetition suggest this. Am I right?
It took them that long to copy the M93 Hornet? That thing was designed in the 1980s.
This would be better at ¼ the length, without the poetry and repeated superlatives ("meticulous" etc.)
The architects of this war are now teaching in Ivy League classrooms - far away from the mine fields.
literally widow mines from starcraft 2
Would it be possible to fit the actual mine to be carried by a drone it would be devastating against tanks. ??
Such drones (DIY) already on the battlefield. No need for PTKM for it, regular PG-7 is enough, or PTAB
This is a nice ad. But what kills Ukrainian tanks is just massive fields of conventional mines and artillery guided by drones. This weapon system is completely irrelevant in Ukraine because the frontline is long and Ukraine doesn't have much tanks to begin with.
Ukraine had thousands of tanks when the conflict started (also received 100s from Nato throughout)
Imagine ptkr1r in urban terrain. You can watch the windows, noone is there but the planted ptkrs on the roofs covered by plastic... Good day, the rest of it.
