- This video explains what is Beckmann rearrangement. The rearrangement is a conversion of oxime in to amide through alkyl group migration. Generally, the group trans to oxime-OH will migrate and form as amide. The rearrangement can happen in cyclic and acrylic system. The catalyst for the reaction is acid. But in the question, with just formula how can we predict that which group is in syn and which is anti, because usually formula is given not structure
