saw this video, downloaded the client, made a casual party to chill in, was really awkward but they pushed me to get my first fire cape and I was able to, later in the same group the plugin creator joined and was hanging out with us and we went to kill bandos for fun and we got a bandos chest, split 6 ways for 5.6m split. cant recommend this plugin enough, had an amazing time with everyone.
This plugin is gonna be a game changer, all my friends hate osrs and I don't like joining random discords and talking to strangers, so I'm definitely going to take advantage of this. I have like no money because I have no one to raid with so hopefully this will get me some experience.
a party finder system for runescape? hell yeah! this sounds like such a positive change, a great way to casually meet and do stuff with people without the commitment of jumping into a guild of strangers. I genuinely wish this was in the vanilla game

I haven't touched OSRS in about 3 years since i maxed and did my trimmed quest cape (at the time).. but this seriously looks like such a great plugin. Kudos to the programmer(s) working on this!
This gotta be my favorite new plug-in outside of the quest helper. This is a great idea and I hope it grows substantially by the time I get to doing raids
Gotta credit the developers of this and the Bot Watch thing with having real guts to manage something that has so many external server dependencies, I'd scrap the idea on that basis alone - too much room for liabilities. Heroku suspending their free features is a good example of this, not to mention the potential moderation headache
I like it since I can play solo but I haven't been able to get my friends into it because the sheer time commitment for any type of group content, and they are super casual so they wouldn't like group ironman either. Wish there was some type of early game group content, it wouldn't even need to give good rewards or anything just something to bridge the gap between early and end game content.
@@heimtuckisch3317 The point of an MMO is to make new friends and have new social experiences. Saying "I only play solo because my existing friends don't play" is a big reason why the community in OSRS is dying. Playing an MMO to be alone does not make sense.
What's funny is the Dungeon Finder systems in most games actually contribute to the antisocial shift in MMOs these days. Sure, its easier to just find a group of strangers to do an activity but actually making friends is not really going to get much easier
Thank god. I literally just joined a clan and I keep thievinghost chat up just to have people to communicate with. I remember having so much fun doing nothing but talking while merching, or running around in castle wars with a friend I just met there. As i get older more and more of my friends are graduating, already have a career and a family and I have so few people left to play with. Nowadays I feel like i’m wasting time if I’m not getting efficient xp somewhere. But I want to break this mentality, I want to start bossing with people, raiding etc. We do raids is a great resource for this but I would love something in game.
The average age of players was lower than was permitted by the game 20 years ago I swear 😅 remember playing for the first time in like 2004 I think. What a time to be in elementary school
Actually downloaded this plugin a few days ago, but was a bit overwhelmed by all the things you could select and it wasn't really clear to me how you should use the plugin well.
If you think it is just runescape that has this issue of everyone being anti social, You are wrong. This happens across almost all games. Things are not like they use to be like they were back in the day. Everyone was so much more raw and genuine... Now you cant even ask a persons name without them saying "can we not?" It is sad
I have always struggled with RS as it has changed over the many years becoming more and more don't have a life I can Solo anything game... I miss the days when you and friends did everything together. GwD and others should always have been a mutiplayer thing to do. But now its look just solo everything pikes of money. No life. I have a file on my computer called "RuneScape friends" where I list the person's name, how we met, and what we bonded over. Too bad I didn't take this approach on my original account over a decade ago though :(
Yup it does. Lots of players using the plugin for skills like herb, fletching, etc. Even though those skills don't have any group activities, lots of people are creating matches for them and meeting up to train together. :)
Dangerous though You could use these matches to team up to do vet'ion or something and bait someone into wildy with it The thumbs up action could be abused with bots

I remember seeing this post on the Reddit, it’s a really good idea. I played for a year and didn’t make a single friend because I’m really bad at initiating conversation, but stuff like this is a really good way of encouraging it
As this plugin is shut down and there isn't really a good alternative anymore, I'm working on a web app to easily find a group for raids, bosses or other activities just like this. As this is on the web it's easier to maintain, you don't have to install anything and it will work fast, with good UI and UX and I'll make it so you can easily find eachother despite the fact that seeing realtime locations isn't possible outside the client. I'm currently pretty early in the development of it but it is starting to take shape :)

I think what rs needs to completely revamp it would be some sort of party system. Being able to share xp and loot somehow would change is a lot, but honestly I dont know how that would even work in osrs. Sure for raids and what not it would be a good system but sub-max level you could introduce some sort of dungeoneering system (read world of warcraft 5 man dungeons) to give xp groupwise. Possibly a share in all the xp done for that dungeon, scaled to level somehow?
Getting into a social clan is the best way to make friends imo. I’ve been running my social clan for a year now and it’s made my clan mates and my own experience really quite memorable. But for those who haven’t found a clan yet, this feature looks like a great way to get plugged in and meet awesome new people to play the game with as well.
I’m a relatively new player, almost 1000 total level but I have had some great interactions with people on osrs. The plug-in seems cool but you do have to make it a habit to chat and sometimes people will say nothing but that’s fine cause you can still have those fun experiences like getting a hammer from some random guy while pushing plows for hocideous favor as he tells you about how he’s trying to do it to 99 farming

But I have been wanting to make a new player for awhile. But I'm stuck f2p. And with bonds being 12-13m now days, it'll be awhile.
I know this is a odd thing to point but saying you never talk to them because you can’t remember them, I try to add notes to everyone I add because I kinda blame names. It’s hard to remember someone named Lampshade246 vs someone named Elder Dudson. You know what I mean.
Its like my old high school friend, he is max and when he found me trying to get there, he has been watching me like a hawk, waiting for me to be raid ready, helping me get that extra step up and it came to me, its hard to find aus players lol

I’m willing to bet the plugin doesn’t o own the difference either. These clients are now be integrated directly into the jagex launcher as well making what many thought would be the final line of defense utterly useless. I fear this games future is gonna be pretty grim if they don’t come out with some sort of intrusive AC. I can already hear the redditors screeching about it now, but I honestly think that where we are at this point.
I think the grand exchange is the single worst cause of anti-socialness in the game, and I was upset they put it in. It's super convenient, but it eliminates a lot of the forced social interactions of the game.

Just in case you don't know, Discord has voice and text channels, so you can still choose to chat with people without literally speaking to them

So, in a nutshell, they made the WoW LFG tool in OSRS, but it's actually good right from the start.

i like that its an MMO you can play alone, you can make friends and do shit but if you don't feel like it the game doesn't punish you for it.
Problem is most content in the game is designed for solo which makes it hard to do things with friends
