What was Infinity exposed of? Jagex team are allowed to have a history of goldfarming and RWT, etc. before they were working at Jagex. There is nothing wrong with it. Just like I was permanently banned for Goldfarming, but got it lifted after almost 10 years.

As soon as Mod Mark gave Nathan, Daniel and Tom a job, Nathan changed and lost a lot of fans/staff at RuneZone. He started to run the fansite like how you'd run a business. Then when I went to RuneFest 2014, I asked Mod Mark if I could be a player moderator. This was successful, and Nathan did not like this. I then also made friends with Mod Mark and I got a invite to visit Jagex for my birthday in 2014. Nathan really did not like this, and for some reason I was fired from rune.tips which was a chat support service made by Nathan which got popular due to his position at Jagex and Mod Mark tweeting about it. Things started to get really weird for me as a P-Mod, things were going weird for my account, and AS SOON as mod Mark left Jagex, I was de-modded and framed! There was chat logs that I know weren't from me, but people like Mod Jane would not listen to me. Since then, 2015, I have not played RuneScape since. I went to 2 more RuneFest's and tried to speak to some J-Mods about the situation, but they couldn't do anything about it (RS name Marbian) The only reason why Nathan etc were hired were the same reason why people like RuneShark, Archie etc got hired. Mod Mark had an initiative to offer big players jobs to help make the community better. If anything, it only made it worse.

an employee used to give me alt emails on abandoned accounts with high bank/inventory value and ask me to hack them to "recover" my account...won't say any names(but they also were a fan of the yahoo chat hacking scene) but i did my time so they can't say shit to me now
Mod Infinity was mainly known for his roles as a P-Mod curator within community management around those years. He became fairly strong opposition against the security-based segment of the P-Mod team at that time (particularly the anti-rwit team, which first connected RuneZone to suspected rwit).
To clear up the luring story at @3:30, it was actually an anti lure, one of the lurers says “it was his idea, the rules were clear” referring to the ‘victim’ trying to get an unsuspecting noob to do a dangerous purple portal clan wars fight. When the ‘victim’ got killed, mod infinity threatened to BAN the other players, including the clueless noob.
Goshdang dude, seeing old Sal's takes me back to before I even knew what Wiki's were. Right in the nostalgia. Conflict of interest is why hiring in the community is a delicate process. This guy set some nice highs to strive for /s
After spending some time around the community moderators for a AAA game I can understand why it makes sense to get someone from the comunnity but in that time I also saw how easily those people can change or twist their powers for their own benefit. Luckily I don't think I personally had to deal with any of that but you never really know how someone will handle the power.
Sal's Realm was my fansite of choice. I actually contributed to their Barrows guide! My part was the one showing the myreque tunnel fairy ring. Going back there the old guide is still there too. Aah but now we have barrows teletabs...

They then sent a complaint about how the Pmod wouldn't mute the player, and Mod Infinity sided with the Pmod. He was right in his responce, PMods are just players with extra abilities and as such should not have to be responsible for muting someone when another person has a complaint about them. Mod Infinity was completely justified by siding with the PMod.

The only problems come when an actual moderator picks and chooses which person to mute. Either punish everything or nothing at all.
Mod Infinity also tried to take over several player-led friends chats, including one that was P-mod led and dealt with rwit-prevention (during the years listed, dealing with several thousand instances per day). He tried to poach numerous of our ranks, until they found that he had zero organization and basically wasn't doing anything. We've suspected, though never were able to prove, that he targeted several of our ranks with de-mods in retaliation for largely resisting his poaching attempts. We can, however, corroborate that he invited several of his friends to be P-Mods. Most of them really weren't good people at all.
Mod Infinity; Forges court documents, Rwted, falsely kicks players from other peoples cc's, mutes players for no reason and continues to be allowed to work for Jagex. Mod Silent; Kills a stream ragger - fired.
Mod Infinity was a pretty scummy guy. I never understood why the forged court documents weren't an on-the-spot terminable offense. Still, as much of a scumbag as Mod Infinity was, I would have expected this to be about Mod Jed.

If Infinity invaded my clan, He'd be immediately kicked and permabanned for breaking the rule concerning guest rights: They may speak in the clan chat but they are required to be respectful of all official clan members at all times, failure to adhere to this rule will result in instant kicking, further refusal or joining under a different name WILL RESULT IN BEING banned from the clan permanently.
Around 2015, or maybe even earlier, I had been permanently muted on my runescape main account for nearly 10 years. I had been playing since 01, was muted sometime in 06 for saying in game some things that could have gotten me some jail time. ~2014/2015 I actually tweeted mod infinity, as well as every other Jmod I could find easily apologized and asked them to review my mute. Each of them replied back the typical use appeal system (duh I already did that). Mod Infinity actually messaged me and said he had removed the perm mute. Corrupt? Sure. I'd venture to say most "OG" players have major rules at some point. Hated? not by me, he actually gave the game and players time and attention rather than an automated message.
Let's not forget when Staking Fc's were banned in RS3, Mod Infinity banned several players hosting for other players TWO HOURS before the update to the TOS, resulting in an outrage in that area of the community, seeing as when they were banned, it was not a bannable offence. At least a few of those players' bans were never lifted. I'm not even sure if any were.
This throws me back to the time I was still writing and reviewing guides for RuneVillage. That was pretty much the start of my programming career... Yet somehow I had never come across any of this and it explains so much to me about what I saw happening with RuneZone.

I was a member of RuneZone, and for what it was community wise atleast, the people were amazing. Made some friends through some years, hosted some fantastic events and made some irreplaceable Runescape memories. It's downfall was sad to say the least, of which it only led for Infinity and Balance to abandon the RuneZone project for their new-found jobs, to conclude to other things too. Years on I hope this is all something we've gained something or learned from.

I remember listening to Runezone Radio. I remember a few weeks before they shut it down that it was because the live DJ had their license expired or will expire. RuneRadio inspired me to become a Internet DJ with my own license, which costs a crap ton of cash.

I don't play rs anymore but I remember back in the day I was getting hacked and I posted on forums while it was happening and mod infinity replied and said he ip banned them. Seemed like a cool guy to me but then again I don't really care about rs enough to even know more than 2 jmods.

no idea who this jmod is and its sad how they make random people pmods just because they know some jmods ive been loyal for 22yrs and not once have i received a pmod invite truly sad 22yrs of membership for nothing while others play for 5months and get instant pmod.
Used to spend a lot of time on RuneZone and RuneRadio, Quit before all this happened..crazy..Had no idea Nath become a damn jmod, let alone all this craziness. He seemed so laid back and chilled back then. He was pretty young however.
i know a few people who used to work at jagex, i won't go into details in case identifiable but there is apparently sexual assault going on there. one of them only worked for a few months, i saw the title for their job advertised again soon after. you can read how terrible it is working there from reviews.

These guys literally created and own one of, if not the biggest online economies. Osrs practically has it's own dollar, They would be foolish not to play both hands. I knew Nathan before he got offered a job at Jagex. I met him at RuneFest 2011. As soon as Mod Mark gave Nathan, Daniel and Tom a job, Nathan changed and lost a lot of fans/staff at RuneZone. He started to run the fansite like how you'd run a business. Then when I went to RuneFest 2014, I asked Mod Mark if I could be a player moderator. This was successful, and Nathan did not like this. I then also made friends with Mod Mark and I got a invite to visit Jagex for my birthday in 2014. Nathan really did not like this, and for some reason I was fired from rune.tips which was a chat support service made by Nathan which got popular due to his position at Jagex and Mod Mark tweeting about it. Things started to get really weird for me as a P-Mod, things were going weird for my account, and AS SOON as mod Mark left Jagex, I was de-modded and framed! There was chat logs that I know weren't from me, but people like Mod Jane would not listen to me. Since then, 2015, I have not played RuneScape since. I went to 2 more RuneFest's and tried to speak to some J-Mods about the situation, but they couldn't do anything about it (RS name Marbian)
The only reason why Nathan etc were hired were the same reason why people like RuneShark, Archie etc got hired. Mod Mark had an initiative to offer big players jobs to help make the community better. If anything, it only made it worse.
Mark never left jagex hes still there. He's the head content designer.

If Infinity invaded my clan, He'd be immediately kicked and permabanned for breaking the rule concerning guest rights: They may speak in the clan chat but they are required to be respectful of all official clan members at all times, failure to adhere to this rule will result in instant kicking, further refusal or joining under a different name WILL RESULT IN BEING banned from the clan permanently.

Around 2015, or maybe even earlier, I had been permanently muted on my runescape main account for nearly 10 years. I had been playing since 01, was muted sometime in 06 for saying in game some things that could have gotten me some jail time. ~2014/2015 I actually tweeted mod infinity, as well as every other Jmod I could find easily apologized and asked them to review my mute. Each of them replied back the typical use appeal system (duh I already did that). Mod Infinity actually messaged me and said he had removed the perm mute. Corrupt? Sure. I'd venture to say most "OG" players have major rules at some point. Hated? not by me, he actually gave the game and players time and attention rather than an automated message.

Let's not forget when Staking Fc's were banned in RS3, Mod Infinity banned several players hosting for other players TWO HOURS before the update to the TOS, resulting in an outrage in that area of the community, seeing as when they were banned, it was not a bannable offence. At least a few of those players' bans were never lifted. I'm not even sure if any were.
This throws me back to the time I was still writing and reviewing guides for RuneVillage. That was pretty much the start of my programming career...
Yet somehow I had never come across any of this and it explains so much to me about what I saw happening with RuneZone.

I miss sals realm. I forgot about it until this video but 10-15 years ago I was always on there.
I was a member of RuneZone, and for what it was community wise atleast, the people were amazing. Made some friends through some years, hosted some fantastic events and made some irreplaceable Runescape memories.
It's downfall was sad to say the least, of which it only led for Infinity and Balance to abandon the RuneZone project for their new-found jobs, to conclude to other things too.
Years on I hope this is all something we've gained something or learned from.

i know a few people who used to work at jagex, i won't go into details in case identifiable but there is apparently sexual assault going on there. one of them only worked for a few months, i saw the title for their job advertised again soon after. you can read how terrible it is working there from reviews.

The dark side of Jagex, where they secretly allow rwt because they know it's very vital to the games success and their own monetary success.
These guys literally created and own one of, if not the biggest online economies. Osrs practically has it's own dollar, They would be foolish not to play both hands.
Don't forget, Those Chinese investors don't quite share the same economic values as a lot of western business.
Don't tell me you're blaming this on China, right? Jagex was fine with real world trading LONG BEFORE there were Chinese investors.
And it's a core principle of Western corporations to make money however possible..
