    I never heard ivy is ok for trees. Thought it took nutrients away. I love ivy and have a ton of it, but keep it away from my massive trees

    Great series ! Would hazel be considered a shrub as it often grows with multiple stems ?

    I beg to disagree. Ivy does harm trees. I find rot where damp can fester. It also holds different moulds and fungi, which attack the tree. It is good in some cases, not all.

    Sad to know that P. Whitefield died in 2015 (aged 66).
