  • In this short film permaculture expert Patrick Whitefield introduces keys concepts in tree identification and shows you how to identify the Oak. To find out more about permaculture and perhaps do a course in the subject, go to www.patrickwhitefieldassociate...

When I did Patrick's Sustainable Land Use course I couldn't help thinking that someone really ought to film the whole thing. At the time there was some doubt (from Patrick and some of the other students) how useful videos would be. But I'm so glad it is now happening.

Your videos have been a great help and have made a great foundation for going onto learn about identifying specific trees. Thanks for taking the time to film and upload :)

I'm a landscaper across the pond in the U.S.
Thank you for the videos. This is an area I really struggle in.

i've managed to get two of the books, trees and bushes by helge vedel and mitchel beazley pocket guide to trees (plus a bonus book mitchell beazley pocket guide to wild flowers) for £0.01p each from amazon+ £2.80 p&p. so really happy about that :)

Sorry, bloody I pad, I've got some ash saplings that are red at the end of their stems. They look fine. Is a red stem normal or has it got 'lurgy'?

I found taking my wife out at 3 in the morning, on a moonlit night worked. Just to see the different shapes. I'm a tree surgeon and have a farm, which is rather handy. Good film, well done.
