3:58 the Samyang magically appears on the shelf behind you! I have this Samyang 35 f/1.8. I bought it because it was so much smaller than the GM f/1.4 and I thought it'd make a better every day lens. Turns out I use it so much more than the GM, I don't have much use for the GM except indoor sports or events. Awesome little lens.
I Thank you for this video Matej. I normally shoot with the 35 or 50 lens. There isn’t much of a difference for me. They are about a step or two different. I zoom with my feet. I opt for slower aperture lenses as I usually shoot between f5.6 and 8. I don’t get into subject isolation. 85mm scares me. It takes me out of the moment. I also have to look further down the street to see the image. I primarily use M43 and APSC. I just bought and received a 42.5/1.7 lens. My thought was a two camera setup. The 42.5 along with the PL15 or P20 pancake lens. Both small and light. Tasty. The P42.5/1.7 is very compact and lightweight. I look forward to playing with it. Sometimes I go out with the 12-60 lens. That gives me a focal length of 24-120mm. I appreciate the reach at the long end. I’m taking more reflections from the windows of office buildings. Not street but none the less interesting sometimes. I liked your ICM images. Especially at 7:36 & 7:52. For me, the longer shutter speed images work for me. Having a strong color also helps. Sorry I missed the giveaway. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
I use an ND filter for video since I filmed in SLG3 which has a base iso of 800. If I have to quickly switch to photo without getting a chance to take off the ND filter, I’ll adjust setting accordingly. But I usually never shoot photos with an ND
I do love a 35mm lens, but I think if I had to pick just 1, it'd be 50mm. I just think 50mm is the perfect middle ground between the 35mm and the 85mm focal lengths
yo funny b/c i mess around with the 27 on occasion & it definitely makes me adjust how i’m composing my shots….that said i can’t front i’m still an 85mm devotee😅…but i love 50 for my film work…really nice frames in these fam, loving the way you’re putting these vids together 👊🏼✨
in my case i'm going from 28mm to 35mm and even tho it's only a 7mm difference i did not expect it'd challenging af to compose lol, had to google 35mm focal length videos for inspos. thanks for the video and great images.
35mm gang 🤜 dude I went through basically the same progression focal-length wise. And now I basically only use 35 and 50.. I think you’ll enjoy the 50 as well
Nice video 🙏 also a big fan of 35 :) my favorite! Just shot a beach wedding entirely with a 50 and that felt like a great compromise in that setting. Look forward to more vids :)
Bruh in about 2 weeks I'm also going to make a 1 year with the 35mm for street photography video haha. I had the same issue with 85mm, it felt so fun at the start because I didn't have to get close and then it became boring and restrictive. Now the 85mm is 90% used for car photography, portraits and events but other than that it sits there collecting dust.
I feel you, my style has changed since I last used my 85 so I wanna throw it back in the rotation here and there but gonna be hard to take the 35 off haha
@qcolemusic Great work and discipline! i just bought a 40mm and a 28mm gonna shoot a few with them both before I decide to stick with one for a year myself.
Great vid, 35 is my bag and now playing with 75/85, very fun to change things us… On the giveaway(I know i am late). But: Why don’t you allow non us residents to apply, but us pay the additional shipping charge. (Via paypal or something) Happens so often with US based creators a bit frustrating.
Giveaway ends Sunday, April 14th at 10:00am EST. Winner will be contacted via Instagram DM. Good luck! 🫡
You capture the true essence of NYC bro, making me miss my old home!
Thanks brotha, it misses you!

You are talented..... Keep the SPIRIT high.....
Feel the same way dude. Was getting a bit bored with the 85 and ended up loving the 35. Some great shots in here too bud.
Thanks my man! The 85 to 35 pipeline in street photography seems pretty common haha

awesome video. Currently been wanting a 35mm lens with my sony camera. Did you use an ND filter for any of these shots/vidoes?

35mm is my absolute favorite focal length. It's so versatile and you can really have a lot of fun with it.
Great video dude! Keep them coming
Thanks man! Very fun lens. Appreciate ya watching
35mm is such a versatile focal length, first lens I picked up when I switched to Sony. Keep up the great work fam
Most versatile out there. Thanks Sam!
That clip of the escalator in the intro is so good!
Thanks homie! Glad that one came out smooth
I love your color and film like vibes, keep it going
I do love a 35mm lens, but I think if I had to pick just 1, it'd be 50mm. I just think 50mm is the perfect middle ground between the 35mm and the 85mm focal lengths
I need to grab a 50! I feel like I’d be a bit more comfortable with a 50 over an 85 at this point

Haha thanks my man, your style definitely bodes well with that 85 🤌🏻 I need a 50 for my Sony, gotta be my next purchase
Very nice work. Shoot on.📷🌞
Your biggest fan!!! No but really thank god for this 35mm year
LMAO you’re too kind, we love the 35mm!!
such good work man! 35mm is the best focal length!
Thank you! No arguments there 👊🏻
Congratulations on your book! Is it available on Amazon?
Love your pictures.

28 to 35 is a massive difference haha, I know exactly what you mean. Thanks for watching!
35mm gang 🤜 dude I went through basically the same progression focal-length wise. And now I basically only use 35 and 50.. I think you’ll enjoy the 50 as well
I can see myself rolling with a 35/50 pairing for the rest of my career, thanks for watching brotha 🫶🏻
You don't need to have a full frame camera in order to use a crop mode. X100V for example can do it too.
Even better, haven’t used an APSC camera in a while haha
@shutterring 35mm is goated! Great video brother.
Thank you! It is 🐐
Parada! Diky za inspiraci! Following on Instagram too. Greetings from London.
Nice video 🙏 also a big fan of 35 :) my favorite!
Just shot a beach wedding entirely with a 50 and that felt like a great compromise in that setting. Look forward to more vids :)
Thanks Jason! 50 would definitely feel like a compromise in that scenario haha

@@matsefcik yeah every time I put the 85 on I barely shoot anything because I don’t see anything that works 😂
I see some Saul Leiter and Ernst Haas influence.
There definitely is some of that 🤌🏻
Cool photo book ❤️😎✌️
35 the 🐐
50 is next on the list 🫡
Awsome watch bro 🔥🔥🔥 and 😂 about the free lens 💪
Haha thanks for watching man!
@qcolemusic Great work and discipline! i just bought a 40mm and a 28mm gonna shoot a few with them both before I decide to stick with one for a year myself.
Nice! I wanted to grab a 40 but it’s too close to 35 to justify spending the money, but 28 is a tough length. Enjoy them!

I own the tinier version of this one (2.8). Love how much you get for such a small and discreet package
@woyshy
If I shot back then how I shoot now, I would’ve opted for the 2.8 as well!
@samlamaine 😊
✅
Ol’ reliable 35mm! Recommend the tiny 35 2.8 zeiss as well which has been my workhorse. Got my eyes on that photobook gimme it haha @jc.kodaks
Would’ve gotten that if I knew I didn’t really need the 1.8!
35mm is my favorite length as well! great photos bro
@samuel_thecanadian
You use it well 🫡
Love it! @jen.j.peterson
Thanks Jen!
