    Awesome review of the 35mm. I have a 35mm 1.8, but don't use it very often (mainly use the 85mm). After watching your review I will get a little more use out of my 35mm and practice some of your suggested techniques. Thanks

    I love changing it up, all the focal lengths from 24, 28, 40, 50, 85, etc and outstanding in their own way. For years I found my photos very stagnant because of using the same focal length. Every focal length allows a different way of telling a story as well as composing

    I haven't really found myself using my 35 as much as my 16 and 50 primes. I'm told it makes a great street photography lens, so that will be my test. I'll be doing some street photos this weekend and I will force myself to taking ONLY the 35 to see what I can come up with. I'm still learning composition, but I've always wanted to try street photography so maybe I'll be inspired by this lens! Thanks!

    The best 3 focal lengths and lenses are 20mm f1.8, 35mm f1.8, and 85mm f1.8. Why f1.8? These sizes are perfect for compact, lightweight, faster than zoom len f2.8, and cost less than f1.4. 35mm f1.8 is my main len for everything.

    My cam is Fuji X-S20 paired with TTArtisan 35mm f1.8
    Just like this review, I totally agree that 35mm is versatile. Just the right distance.

    • @laurormrz
      @laurormrz หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Randy, just remember that 35mm on a crop sensor camera like your Fuji, is actually equivalent to shooting a 50mm lens on a full frame camera. To get a more true 35mm wide perspective on your Fuji, you should try shooting with a 23mm lens. I love shooting 50mm, so the 35mm f2 was my go to on my Fuji.

    Very informative video! Am I weird to bring both 35mm and 135mm on my upcoming travel? I will be traveling to Asia and plan use 135mm for street photography since I am shy to get closer. I then use 35mm when I am with family and indoor. Or, should I leave 135mm at home and "crop" later if I bring just the 35mm?

    • @TheBergreens

    Good video!
    To me changing lenses in a quickly changing environment is a little crazy when both Tamron & Sigma have excellent 2.8 zoom lenses that cover roughly 25-75. ( lots of great stuff can be done now in post).
    I use my 35 strictly for street photography where I want to go unnoticed.

    May I ask you if it’s worth it to have a f1.4 lens compared to a f2.0?
    I would use it generally for isolation for kids-pictures to keep other kids unrecognizable as well as low light evening outdoor pictures. Therefor I am asking and
    I would be happy to hear a little bit about your opinion!
    Thx in advanced! Of course I can use a 50mm or 85mm but then I limit the view of the environment (negative space) I guess with 24mm f1.4 I would not get the isolation with depth of field…
    Best, Bernhard

    • @bernhardwagner3156
      @bernhardwagner3156 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh by the way, I do have the 20mm f1.8 as well as the 65mm f2. So this is why I am thinking about this in particular…

    • @TheBergreens
      @TheBergreens  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Bernhard, the difference between f1.4 and f2 is not a ton but might be enough to give you more blur. It’s more about the distance than the f-stop. Hope that helps!

    I'm considering a 35mm prime. I have a Canon R8 and am using 50mm f/1.8 and 85mm f/1.8 lenses from my APSC DSLR. At the moment I have crop sensor kit lens and EF-S 10-18 as wider alternatives.
    The Canon EF 35mm f/1.8 looks like it would nicely fill a hole, being a full frame lens.
