I'm an off-and-on again dobro/lap guitarist, and I've discovered the beauty of Hawaiian music especially on a real Dobro, made by Dobro. I am about to purchase a pre-Gibson Dobro which I will be taking with me to Hawaii soon, to play it and learn Hawaiian music on. At my old age of 167 I like the slow pretty ballads. I here Hawaiians love the sound of the Hawaiian dobro, but I noticed on you tube that none of the Hawaiian bands had a Dobro; maybe I could get a job. LOL
I love the dobro in country and bluegrass music, but for me, this is the way the instrument was meant to be played: beautiful Hawaiian music. Heavenly!
