I'm 17 but I have a brother who's 10 years older than me so the first console I had was a hand me down n64 and then a hand me down ps2 so I really had a 90s early 2000s childhood lol
Nice video, although the first Far Cry is ignored by some of the newer fans, it's a game that deserves more appreciation. Small correction: the first Far Cry made by Ubisoft was Instincts, which is a sort of Remake or Reimagining of the original.
Far Cry 1 LAN parties at home were some of my best gaming memories. Trying to bazooka the speedboats zipping through the river from somewhere in the trees was hilarious. Sometimes I just liked playing with the map editor for a few hours cuz like you said, it was and is really pretty. There was only 1 other kid at my school I knew who played it, but he was the biggest nerd.
I completed this game 3 times and this game difficulty is terrifying. The monsters are insane. Even though they are so scary, I played this game at 13 years old and was scared when the monsters were coming to kill me. But this was also very fun to play on those ages, and this video makes me nostalgic.
Far Cry 1 was amazing when it came out, i remember some reviewers saying something like "graphics won't get any better than this" ^^ But i would say FC3 popularized the franchise more than 2. It set the blueprint for open world genres and I think it's the most fondly remembered one in the franchise, even though it also has its flaws when you would play it right now.
1 is Still my favourite farcry and one of my favourite fps games off all time. Still plays really well to this day and looks great. This game was what got me into playing first person shooters which then made me discover cod 4 and half life 2
I really enjoy your videos for so many years. I’ve been watching and supporting you for years to come! Your videos are always a gem to watch. Your far cry and assassin creed games videos are my favorite as always! Keep up the channel and the huge milestone subscribers! You’re doing so amazing! Your editing is just fabulous!! ❤❤❤🥰🥰
To start it off, Far cry 1 is older than me 5 years. But this was the first PC game i ever played, i was introduced to the game by my dad when i was 6 years old, my dad would always play it with me and even sometimes i would be scared to play it by myself because of the trigens that when i think of it now is very funny because i remember it. I also had the original copy of the dvd to the game wich is really cool to have but i lost it sadly. When i first finished the game i was so happy and i would talk it to my friends about the game then they would come to my house and play it together and have the time of our childhood. and now i am 15 and still have the game installed on steam and play it sometimes to complete it again i would also speedrun it and go through te memories and have nostalgia. To Everyone that thinks about buying it or starting the far cry series i would strongly recommend this as the first part to play.
294 / 5 000 I'm old and have been playing far cry for 20 years. Controversially, my favorite is Far Cry New Dawn, but I've spent the most time in FC5, not to mention the brilliant Arcade. Thanks to Far Cry, my PC has been upgraded regularly, like every time a new Far Cry comes out :-D
Something I will say about the Trigens when I was growing up. The concept of the flood in Halo was terrifying but they never scared me in game. The Trigens scared the absolute shit out of me when I was a kid to the point I considered not playing without my dad there. Then the necromorphs got the best of both worlds, mortifying in concept and "I don't wanna be here anymore, I wanna go home" in game.
I love this game as it balances openess and novelness. In games like FarCry 3+ you have to go through the same areas again, and again, and again.... In FarCry each area feels new and refined. Also, the story is a throwback to 90s and 80s action movies with one-liners, as well as to games like Duke Nukem and Shadow Warrior. Today all games have to be multiplayer only with lootboxes or open world. The narrative driven game is almost dead :(
The gunplay even tho it'd dated, feels so satisfying, the ragdol, bullet impact, bullet holes in bodies, minor ground deformations on the beach, AI which might often surprise you, flank you, give orders to other troops. The water still looks so juicy :D The freedom how you get through levels. This game was so ahead of its time, it changed everything. From the moment I started playing it, I was in love with graphics to that very day.
Well, in Far Cry from 3 on you are an unstoppable, super-powered killing machine with completely superior strength, skill and senses. None of the enemies can individually even remotely compete with you, and because of that, it's not much of a challenge. To me personally, this does not work when you're supposed to be a stranded tourist without any military expierience. But it does when you are an 80s movie cyberg action hero.
Damn, I remember my dad playing this when I was younger. This and Call Of Duty 1+2. That's why those were some of the first shooters I've ever played. He recently asked me for the CDs, which I secretly snagged, when I moved out. 😅
Been playing this game religiously since I was a kid, it's old and a bit janky but I love it. No other game feels the way FC1 does. Also it has a small but dedicated community following (mostly russians for some reason). The mods available for this game are crazy, whole new campaigns, weapons, levels, even fully working co-op and VR, as well as restoring old and cut content from before the game was launched. There are some seriously talented people who work on continuing the legacy of this incredible FPS, and it's really down to how brilliant the CryEngine was/is that makes people still want to work with it and mod it. It's also a brilliant game for speedrunning, due to the 20 linear-ish levels, with really cool tricks to try pull off if you want the fastest times. I love Far Cry 1! It's such a hidden gem of a game that still has so much to offer, even in 2024. Also I would LOVE for a remaster/remake but it's so unlikely. Ubisoft/CryTek please!
The graphics astounded me in 2004, and then two years later, Oblivion was released. It was truly unbelievable. I think those years were one of the best years of gaming.
Back when I was 13 I used to play this game in 1 hour increments as my brothers PC could just about run it on low setttings. Great game and blew my wittle mind at the time.
I played this game on the Xbox one and it worked really well there were no problems from what I remember. So it probably more available than it was before. I personally enjoyed Farcry one but the difficulty spick made the game a lot more difficult that it needed to be. That final level is damn near impossible. Yet even with that it was still a really good game I even played its spin off which feels like a remake with a unique mechanic.
One of my earliest childhood memories. I think it was a demo version of the game but it was so badass. I also played Comanche 4, Medal of Honor:AA and Delta Force games (which was like CoD of its time).
This game got a lot of buzz when it first released because of the visuals. I was lucky enough to have a high-end rig when I played this the year it released, I had a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 with a Radeon 9800 Pro video card. I was also impressed with the visuals but I also liked that it was semi-open world (like you say) where there was often some freedom of how you could approach situations. I also remember it as being very difficult, especially in the second half of the game. I was finally able to beat it on the lowest difficulty setting (which was hard), but then a few years later I played again and could not beat the final level LOL.
Hey! I love your videos and i would really appreciate you showing this in a video. I have a request aswell, and that is more lore videos, i really like videos containing lore for Assassins Creed, and thank you so much for making good videos!
I was seriously upset when Ubisoft bought Farcry and changed it into Farcry 2. I was still excited about Farcry 2, but I was deeply saddened that there would not be mad scientist and mutants in a secret facility on a tropical island. That was really cool, to me. Every time they made a new one I hoped they added a twist.
I got into Far Cry through 2 and 3, but when I tried the original, I was hooked! I loved the TriGens, I thought they added to the game. In later games you're just fighting people. All the time, people, with the occasional animal attack to shake things up. Blood Dragon had the...well, Blood Dragons, and they were cool, but that's kind of it. I wish Far Cry would go nuts with the enemies again.
So sad the other farcry games never had the trigens in them. I always wanted a sequel with a main character getting trapped on the original island and finding out the mercenaries and trigens are still there or something
I first saw some pictures of Far Cry in a magazine. I was blown away by the graphics. I had never heard about the game and I felt like it came out of nowhere. It was really good. I love that the game is linear but open enough to explore. I didn't like far cry 2 that much. I didn't like the open world and the enemy outposts you had to fight all the time.
I never played any of the Far Cry's before Primal, and only ever really completed and enjoyed Far Cry 6, so I'm biased and late to the party. However I had a tonne of fun in Just Cause 1 when that came out and this game totally reminds me of it. It was over the top and silly but the map was huge for its time and incredibly fun to mess around in.
Far Cry 1 is my childhood game...its just...so magical...I love that game (Yeah. Its janky and weird but so good xd)...also...suddenly...I feel old...Iam older then FC1....
I liked the first far cry, even though I preferred the 2. I played it in 2004 and completed it in 2006, as I was locked at home a summer after surgery. The physics and lighting were so impressive. I would rather have a remake of FC1 and FC2 than of FCE3.
Ah yes, even my top the line ATi Radeon 9800 Pro could play this game with good settings. Great times. Great game. No handholding. The game was actually hard.
I'm 19 years old I was born March 8th 2005 So it's exactly 1 year older than me And I've only played new dawn Which I've played through it idk how many times doing various challenges
Farcry 3 doesn't need a remake or remaster.... it's graphics were so ahead of its time that when i play it now, i can't tell that it's made before gta V! 12 years ago.... dang farcry 2 was sth special with that african vibe and the hardcore feeling it had... still love it and a remake would be cRaAZy!
I remember when this game was the new hot stuff for PC... Only finished it last year, and it was okay. Felt good to play, but some parts were really unbalanced and unnecessarily hard, with enemies that could see you across the map and/or kill you in 2 seconds.
It's a good game of you can turn a blind eye to the AI seeing you all the time from the other side of the map and the boats shooting you with pinpoint mortar strike precision from way over there.
farcry is older than me
you a jit.
Same
Same bro, I'm 12
I'm 17 but I have a brother who's 10 years older than me so the first console I had was a hand me down n64 and then a hand me down ps2 so I really had a 90s early 2000s childhood lol

Nice video, although the first Far Cry is ignored by some of the newer fans, it's a game that deserves more appreciation.
Small correction: the first Far Cry made by Ubisoft was Instincts, which is a sort of Remake or Reimagining of the original.
Totally agree! It will be dope to see a remake! Bring in more fans to see the original game of how it was! ❤❤
@kotywasnthere-zv3jiomg it does!!
Correction: Original Far Cry was developed by Crytek, published by Ubisoft🎉
@@michalceskestredohori5444 Wrong correction. They're talking about Ubisoft's games that first released on the Xbox and i to the 360, not Crytek's.

I played last month for the first time with farcry classic
still remember playing this game in 2004..it was amazing
great graphics and story
I know a lot of people don't like the new FC games, but honestly, I can't wait to see FC7 with the snowdrop engine

Ew, especially after the bullshit that is farcry 6. Shit was soo ass. Next games gonna be ass too
