- The time has finally come. I ranked the Open worlds, the protagonists, and the villains of the Far Cry series, and the time has finally come to rank the Far Cry games. I’ve been building for this for a while now as I’ve been reviewing and playing all the Far Cry games for nearly two years, so this may be my last Far Cry video at least for a little bit. We still got the Joseph Seed dlc in March. Just to clear some things up though before we get started I’m only going to be ranking the main line Far Cry entries, so the console spin off exclusives like Vengeance and Instincts along with Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon as great as it is, won’t be part of this ranking. Also just a reminder this ranking is just my opinion so feel free to leave yours down in the comments. I'm really curious what you all think. For me Primal just does it. The world, the survival mechanics, the animal companions... just my favorite Far Cry

I love Far Cry 4. The world, the location, the lore, how much they packed of random temples, shrines, and the awesome Shanghai-La story as well visiting the Himalayas. Just another level when it comes to the environment and world around you
Also the valley of the Yetis DLC was brill. Far Cry 4 is my favourite Far Cry of them all and I've played them all.
@@ShapedCobra base game had a very positive feeling, Yeti DLC was dark on the other hand, only people you could find were the cult members, rarely if ever sherpas and prisoners, and I am not even sure if the Golden Path reinforcement was an option. - No sign of civilization was in the DLC which made it creepy

I would recommend either Far cry 3 or New Dawn as they're the only other two that I have enjoyed enough to 💯 like Far Cry 4.
Far cry 4 location was good but game was bad. Far cry 3 was much better
Far Cry 5 changed my life. It opened my eyes to things beyond me. Joseph made me question EVERYTHING. Sadly without people actually putting in a real investigation, so much lore gets easily passed over. The soundtrack alone… my god. Hammock brought this game to life and tears to my eyes with their remixes in Faith’s region.

Yes! Far Cry 5 was the first one I played and I was hooked! I then played New Dawn and 4 and I love them. I’m playing 3 for the first time right now as we speak!
Far Cry 5 made me question everything too. It broadened my perspective on life. And i’m not even religious.
Primal is for sure my favourite. The atmosphere of the ancient world. The badass storyline. Takkar's super cool voice. The beasts. I just love it all.

far cry 4 is an absolutely gorgeous game as well. All the colours and the setting are insane and thats what makes it my favourite
I love seeing all this new love towards Far Cry 4. This is by far my fav game in the franchise and just seems to have the perfect definition of the Far cry formula.
When fc4 released I was baffled at how most locations and language was accurate in the game. I live close to nepal and Ive been there before and holy shit it is so accurate. Like its a mix of nepal hills and India north eastern hills and after being to both the places this game truly takes the cake.

It breaks my heart that nobody, not in the video nor in the comments, is mentioning how absolutely amazing the Shangri La experiences were. I’m a huge ancient mythology fan because of this game and not only because of how beautiful and vibrant the world of Shangri La was present, but because of the backstory behind it and the ties it had to the modern story of Ajay. Not to mention the gameplay. Holy shit flying around and stabbing demons in chain takedowns is a core memory for me.
I really liked how there was a while section of the story based on being in a psychedelic trip to basically find your path in life and then just some fun stuff like being in the mountains finding a yeti
That is the best part in Far Cry 4 to me, the final battle was epic with that huge soundtrack
@@fault7693 Shangri La is the best thing to happen to Far Cry. It's in my native language and it gave me goosebumps hearing it in Hindi. Not only that, but most of such content made in Hindi is cringe. But Shangri La for me is the pinnacle of storytelling.
When I experienced "Shagri La, I was certain at some point they might've made a stand alone.
I actually hated the shangri-la parts of the game. especially because you had to do them for the best upgrades. and were forced to do some to progress the main story. i love the game, it is easily the best open world ego shooter ever made in my book. But it would have been perfect without shangri la. its why i have such a hard dealing with 3 and 5. both had too much insanity to be fun for me.
Far Cry 3 has always been my favorite Far Cry of all and I keep playing it over and over again. It's just amazing in every way: story, gameplay, exploration, characters, progress, etc. It's just one of my favorite games of all time.

Far cry 5 is my favorite because of how relatable the world feels.
The landscapes look like what I see on a daily basis and dear God the soundtrack.
I sometimes just play far cry 5 to listen to that main menu theme
I fall asleep to that main theme, crap was so good they matched the sound of country so good

I personally like Far Cry 5 over 6 but I did like having a fully voiced protagonist again but It felt like more of a slog to beat Far Cry 6
I totally agree. I think this game had such a good story as well. I was invested so much more in the story even more than far cry 6. The side-villians in far cry 5 were so good compared to the side villians in far cry 6 being so forgetible and having very little depth to them and were a little mediocre. Cough cough admiral benitez cough cough.
I actually likes the meter thing but damn 6 over 5 thats a bit stupid storywise 5 was way bettet sure 6 had things we wanted in 5 but the story is boring as fuck in 6

Yeah 6 is not better than 5. In fact it was disappointing. They added thinks from breakpoint that didn't belong in a far cry game (like skills on gear instead of a tree). And the story wasn't anywhere near as good as 5. 5 is def better than 6 imo
Big FC4 fan here as well, maybe for slightly different reasons. I'm surprised this isn't talked about more, but outside of the Himalaya's just being a unique and visually appealing place, the open world of FC4 worked best because of verticality. Highly recommend the developers commentary on HL2 Lost Coast for a lesson in why verticality is so important in FPS level design but is bizarrely still overlooked almost 2 decades later. Flying machines and a wingsuit from near the start aid in the landscape traversal and this all makes exploring and combat in FC4 a blast.
Also Pagan Min is such a good antagonist, Marvel could learn a thing or two about how to write a villian from studying Pagan. I personally think Vass is overrated, he says some cool shit that some people like to interprate as deep but he's just a well acted one-dimensional psychopath really. Pagan is a broken man in charge of a whole country, whose motivations (due to his backstory) are suprisingly complex. It's a shame as you say they spend so much time on Amita and Sabal who were both terrible people, but I guess from a gameplay perspective they had to. It's worth noting that Pagan is almost constantly chatting to Ajay via the radio, making him probably the most 'present' villian in a Far Cry game.
Quickly on FC5, mission design was ... interesting, yes, though Ubisoft get called out for cookie cutter design all the time but at least here they tried something different. The world design was fantastic, the detail across the map was a huge step up from FC4. I love the FC6 setting, Yara is beautiful. Characters are OK, missions have been OK so far but the biggest issue is the lack of reason to do anything. At least in FC5, taking out control points would progress the bar that pushed the story along, but in FC6 you can get the best gear very early and there's no reason to take over any of the other control points outside of closer fast travel to a mission objective. Also its way too damn easy.
My fav far cry is far cry 4. I have a weird feeling idk how to explain maybe its cuz i love mountains? The story is also deep.

I don't think Vaas is generally onedimensional since he's fighting with some demons and it also shows in the game. It's rather how he's behaving, how Ubisoft chose to present him in his various encounters, which always follows the same system and makes him look onedimensional. His DLC in Far Cry 6 put that aside and I'm glad they gave him another chance to shine. Pagan still rules though.
I grew up on FC4. I love the game. It has a specal place for me.
I have a feeling that Vaas is cool but unrelatable. Pagan is so damn well writen, he's relatable, he feels like a father and also feels like a psychopath who needs to be killed.
*What made Farcry4 the best in my eyes is when I witnessed a large eagle swoop down and pick up a small pig that was trying to get away..I then watched as the eagle started flying away with the animal …I then aimed and shot the eagle killing it instantly…I ran over and skinned the now dead pig and also took the eagle feather for trade….AMAZING GAME!*
Far Cry 2 is the best to me. So grounded and so realistic plus the setting is so unique. Nothing like the others

it's got that new vegas chronically brown syndrome though, I dont get it either because halo 3 came out around the same time as FC2 on the same console and Halo managed to tell a gritty enough story with a realistically shaded world just fine.
that being said what the FC2 remake of my dreams would look like is a farcry 2 remake but lean into using some milsim assets to expand on the brutal gameplay something akin to how guns feel in squad while still being a modernized farcry 2, y'know.
Really FC2 is the first of the series, the original game is more standalone. It is however extremely buggy on consoles. and yes, it has a fast travel system using the buses. A crappy one, but it's there.
For me it's the recoil and weapon degradation that makes the game really good, and the small amount of ammo. Such a unique and fun challenge

While I mostly agree with your ranking, I'm disappointed that you didn't mention the Far Cry 5 excellent soundtrack, it's really one of the Best original vgm ost ever made, imo. not to mention the rocking licensed songs

The story wasn't that captivating for me but still interesting but gameplay was just so good they basically took everything from 3, improved and added a shit ton more.
i love the scenery of Far Cry 4 with all the high mountains
Far Cry 5 is probably my favorite in the series, mainly just because of how the world feels connected between characters. You really grow to enjoy the land you blast through and the Seeds are a perfect mix of Hateable yet lovable, except Jacob, he just kind of felt like an after thought. Also the gameplay loop is solid, take down outposts to get money to then get better weapons for liberating outposts. The only complaint I really have are the times you're kidnapped but those are more of an annoyance tbh.
And I actually liked a mute character, it allowed me to interrupt events how I would naturally instead of having someone speak for me.
Hell no bruh all those stupid boss fights and cut scenes the story was garbage too
@@Ace-tw4fl that's your opinion lol Far Cry 5 is one of the most overall well liked among the series (its my favorite as well) the story was amazing (while i have the story being ranked right below FC3) imo it is still an extremely fun and enjoyable game and overall it did really well.
For me far cry 5 has the most beautiful world of far cry series after primal . I really enjoy walk in the forest of montana

Having recently Far Cry 3 and 4 shortly after one another it is insane how much Far Cry 4's gameplay was improved from 3. If it had bullet physics like Far Cry 5 it would be my dream far cry in terms of gameplay. It often gets the label that its just FarCry 3.5 but if you play them one after another you relize how much better 4's gameplay is.

When I think of Far Cry my thoughts immediately go to Far Cry 2. My favorite Far Cry and one of my favorite games altogether.

The story is so immersive and interesting, the lore is deep, and the violence is intoxicating. I have played every single far cry and to this day far cry four is still the best in regards of everything I absolutely adore it.

Primal was my first far cry and it confused me how different it was from far cry 4 that i got after i finished primal. Both were so amazing and I appreciated how different the 2 were.

@@DenzilPeters I will admit the same for Farcry 5. Farcry 4 is probably the superior game but the I love the Montana setting and 2018 was a great time for me personally.
literally far cry 3 and most wanted are what made me a gamer....so yeah they will hold a special place forever..... ( and total over dose ) my first ever game
@@DenzilPeters it’s not just nostslgia it’s really not. 3 deserves respect because it created an amazing formula for an open world FPS. It had SO many great mechanics that all worked well, all in the same game. I was completely blown away when it came out. The skill tree, the bow, stealth in an open world fps, the takedowns animations and combos, the fps platforming, the wildlife! It had so so much.
Butt! If someone now were to ask which one to play first, I might recommend 4 or another due to the age of 3
I love 4, the option to choose who you side with can change the game in real time as far as mission objectives. I loved that. 3 was fantastic but 4 really raised the bar and was easier but far more challenging
i Love FC4 but it was very easy in regards to human enemies i yet have to die a single time by a human over 10+ runs. Animals though... i cant count how often i died because of honey badgers or eagles or rhinos... or... you get the point ^^
Nothing can beat FC4. Brilliant story, mind blowing scenery, absolute beautiful characters, each character has his own depth, ever single thing is awesome.

FC 5 one of my faves, the story and location were refreshing. My biggest gripe from what I recall was the very southern part of map was nothing just wilderness made me wonder if they meant to add more stuff but didn't have time or resources.
Yeah i just beat 5 recently an i was also thinking the same thng about the southern section
I kept thinking dam i still have that whole south section to do so i must still have a long way to go before the end of the game, but then the game ended without ever having to go there

You know , despite all these rankings , i still remember when as a 11 year old kid..playing through lush green forest of far cry 1...then growing old...exploring through savannas with a dragonov....and being introduced to 'insanity' back as a high school student....riding elephants in the kyrat..as from a college student....and years passed by playing the ' Deputy' way back in Far cry 5 and now fighting against the rebellion of 'Gus fring' ......Far cry games are and always will be a Special place in my heart.(mind my bad english)
I started to play fc games in 2018 cause I wasnt allowed to play cause I was too young. I always watched my brother playing the old far cry games and I was waiting for the day when I could play myself. After I was finally allowed I played almost all I could and I could play them again and again this game series have a special place in my heart too even tho many ppl hates it. I even got the books cause its rlly soo special

For me Far Cry 3 is and always will be , the best of them all , the story , the gameplay , the soundtrack , even the graphs at that time , did it for me .
A part of my soul will always be on that island , and i know a lot of you guys can relate to that .
If we're being honest, 3 still looks pretty damn good (other than the draw distance being too short)

I wouldn't say it's a Horrible game, it has pretty good atmosphere and some good moments, but I found the repetition really sets in after the first area and I'll never understand why they thought it was a good idea to have your supposedly "badass protagonist" get abducted like a dozen or more times in one game. Also the crappy/cringe modern ubisoft writing really started to grate on me.

@@guidedexplosiveprojectileg9943 I don't think I ever tried melee, I think I pretty much just stuck to an lmg most of the time. Like said in this video, game is very mixed with good moments and some total bs, I eventually dropped it in my 3rd area because the story and writing wore on me. I'm still pissed that npc's cleared that town for me and ruined one of the more interesting fights in the game.
Wow I did not expect this kind of ranking, very respectable. I always loved FC4 and I'm glad it's getting a bit more love all these years later, it definitely had the best gameplay and Kyrat just had an amazing atmosphere. Plus Pagan was an excellent "villain"

Farcry 3 pulled me in like a black hole. I was dreaming about being on Kyrat running through the jungle. I took my time and crafted everything and when I beat it I was kind of in a weird state. Nothing has measured up to in since. 4 did improve gameplay mechanics alot, and the grappling hook was an awesome addition.
I think 2 will always be top of my personal list but I think that's because I played it at release and had never played anything like it at the time. Agree that a remake with a few small modern concessions could be massive. I also agree that 4 is the best overall experience taking everything into account. Given how you've rated Primal so highly, perhaps I need to give that a reinstall and see if I take to it more this time.

Far Cry 4 FTW. And to be honest, I adore the narrative of 4. I agree that Ajay's arc doesn't feel as impactful, strong, or seamless as Jason Brody's, but I love the intimacy you get from experiencing Kyrat from Ajay's perspective. Pagan Min, Mohan, Ishwari, the Golden Path, the faith of the land. You're in the centre of it all and all the things you discover either as a part of the plot or passively while you go around the world, feels inherently significant to Ajay and his journey. Not to mention that sweet delicious gameplay and visual beauty. Loved the video!
I love far cry 5 because I live in Montana and the scenery is gorgeous. It is like playing a videogame that takes place in your backyard. I also understand a lot of the Montana references (I am related to the real life Clutch Nixon; he is based off of Evil Kinivel). Overall I enjoy it because Montana is getting a mainstream and well put together videogame which has never happened.
I relate to this. Apart from the general gameplay, the relatability of the setting on a personal level goes a long way in the overall assessment. It bonds you in a way different than the others with the inside jokes, slangs and references and your cultural overtones. Me being an Indian (and living in Himalayan proximity), absolutely loved FC4 for the same reason. Had it not been set in the Indian/Nepali type Kyrat, I probably would have ranked it 2nd, maybe 3rd.

100% agreed with you keeping far cry 4 over 3, kyrat was so immensely memoreable and stealth was fun, they really perfected the far cry 3 formula.

I also like how they put heaps of effort into showing the culture of kyrat, everything from listening to some guy rant about stuff on the radio to being in a psychedelic trip find demons and then in the mountains with a mythical creature. There was just so many things to do if you didn't wanna focus on the story

I’ve played through Far Cry 3 twice and am currently playing through 4 again for the second time (due to it being free with Prime). It always annoyed me how much people liked to hate on FC4 when it released. It has always been a solid game. Glad to see that it has gone from most underrated to one of the, if not the, most loved. Well deserved.
i still do not like far cry 4 to this day. but i think it's mostly the setting that doesn't really appeal to me. i loved far cry 3's pacific island style. but without a doubt far cry primal is my favorite and it got a lot of hate too, even more than fc4

Just hopped on TH-cam and saw this video, absolutely love your content, not only Far Cry. Thanks for taking your time and all these in depth reviews, really appreciate it👌🏽 I finished FC3 a few Days ago and loved it. With FC4 being the first Far Cry I have ever played, its still my favorite but FC3 is amazing in its own right.

Good to see Far Cry 4 finally getting the praise it deserves. 100% the game every year and yet I'm still always immersed in the gameplay and finding something new in the world to appreciate. Kyrat will always be #1!

Honestly fell in love with primal on my first time opening it, the taming feature just made the game for me, I would deadass try to tame every creature instead of doing the quests 😂, the hunts are cool

Where far cry 4 takes the cake is the world of shangri la for me. The experience is just amazing and difficult to be put into words. The story telling and the narration and music, is something else!

No one ever seems to mention the multilplayer with the map creator. I remember playing on d-day & ww1 trenches. Vietnam maps, escape rooms. I can't believe no one remembers.

I replayed 5 recently and it was much better on second play through. .the world ,the music , everything is so unique.. hope country is the best setting for a far cry gane ever I think.. that banjo lick😍

I enjoyed 5 quite a bit. The Seed family did it for me. I would await cutscenes with the family because they generally spooked me with their psychopathy.
Your arguments and points are valid on farcry 5. 5 is personally my favorite in part because I live in Montana, but I also just overall really enjoyed the gameplay loop and story. However I feel like we needed more weapons and more to do in the world because it feels lifeless at times, not to mention the mc is completely voiceless unless you're taking some form of damage.
Not forgetting that incredible music to it aswell

im replaying the game rn and i am amazed by the world again. going to have to visit Montana in real life someday
i don't live in the US but far cry 5 and watch dogs 2 really made me wanna visit these locations some day, ubisoft is doing an awesome job in their world building.

I also loved far cry 4 more than far cry 3 I thought I was just too baised because far cry 4 is based somewhere near to the place I live

I absolutly love Primal. Everything was exactly how I like it and the fact its happening during the neolithic is just awesome. I don't know why it's not more common in games cause the possibilities are endless.
I liked that Far cry 5 gave you so much freedom, you could do any quest you would like. Only thing that bugs a lot of people is the capturing of course
Actually capturing is what elevates the game story in it, makes a different interesting experience. How they Intertwined it with the theme of religious conversion is genius on its own.
Nah bruh what bothered everyone about thé game is that their's really no reason to Care about the first three Guy noboady Care about them you only Saw them for a minute and then thé game was way to easy with you being able to have a bomber jet an helicopter and a Guy with a rocket launcher + you having an Alien gun
@@slimboarder.o7 nah i dont thing so, the story is for you to liberate the hope county against the cult and each part has their leaders that you need to defeatits easy if you play it on the lowest difficulty and just go rampaging on each base, but trying to sneak in and disable alarms and silently killing the peggies is a different story
Agree. I wish they had a setting where you could turn off the capturing part, so damn irritating. I can't remember how many times I was playing late at night knowing I could only play for 20 more minutes because I had to get up early the next day and then out of nowhere I'm captured and not wanting to deal with it just shut it off and went to bed. Frustrating!

Completely agree with 4. The lack of power in story is properly compensated by the detailed yet simplistic perfectly balanced gameplay
I love farcry 4 so much man. Shangri La and the valley of the yetis dlc was so good and I absolutely loved this game
In my opinion there is no bad farcry game but some are better than others and I think you did a wonderful job ranking the games

In Far Cry 2, there's this mechanic I love. Enemies will spot you much easier in Daylight. So it's better to play missions at night if you want to play it stealthy. This is a very cool Mechanic and adds to the realism of the game. Simply the best game in Series , which had drawn me to the series .❤❤❤
Seems you and I have very similar opinions, 4 is by far my favourite, probably a bit biased because it was my first far cry but this is the first time I've seen anyone give primal the amount of love I think it deserves
Finally a ranking video which I totally agree. FC3 was awesome. But I liked the gameplay more for FC4. So many things were better. Even we could shoot while driving which always left me without defense in FC3. FC4 story was not great. But I really loved the Shangri-La storytelling. For me that's one of the best parts of the game.
In FC3 Vaas was incredible. And the main villain was tough but quite forgettable. But FC4 had lieutenants each with their own backstories. And I loved how Pagan would call casually and talk.
I don't like fc4 that much because pagan minn was almost a ghost most of the game. There are very few cutscenes of him and the other antagonists were pretty much underwhelming. Even though fc4 was more beautiful and had more features, fc3 still does it for me. The fc3 story felt so much better and natural whereas fc4 was more mysterious and felt unexplained due to lack of cutscenes and character background

I have not yet played Far Cry Primal so I don't know where to rank it.
My one opinion about this whole series is that, all the open worlds in these games are top notch. I'm always itching for another Fr Cry just because of the emphasis on exploration and it's sometimes relaxing to see the calm environments and wildlife in these games.
Edit: A very unpopular opinion, I think Dying Light took lots and lots of inspiration from Far Cry, which is a very good thing essentially an the reason why both of these are goated
You're not wrong about far cry 1 and 2 being at 6 and 7.
Play primal.. your number 2 or 3 spot will change.. primal is basically 4 but 100% stealth and no guns... and you can tame animals its SO GOOD. No idea why ppl hate on it so much

Primal is definitely my favourite because of it’s whole idea of the udam trying to survive makes you feel the ull wasn’t a monster and the Palaeolithic setting was awesome and unique

far cry 3 was my favorite game of all time (100%ed it like 7-8 times) and as someone who 100% all games after 3 and fc1 I assumed it would 've stayed like that forever but after playing the fc6 dlcs my love for pagan min augmented so much that i kinda like fc4 more than 3 even though I have so much emotional connection wth fc3.Pagan min might be my new favorite villain of all the games I've played and I hope that Joseph dlc would make me like him because I think he was underwhelming for me (with all the religous psychos in my country)
What i love about far cry games is their villains and open worlds. Villains always charismatic and open worlds always stunning.
reading the comments made me realize i really have to play the other far cry games. just finished New dawn and that game got me hooked, really enjoyed the Joseph character and the new eden´s missions and building the base. i agree that it was too short and also you´re right about the detection issues.
Finally someone who rates FC4... FC4 was my first one and I absolutely fell in love with it, I did go back to FC3 but it didnt play aswell despite the story being great, nothing has ever captured me like FC4 has
I wholeheartedly agree with the placement of far cry 4, i've had to argue many of these points to some of my more elitist friends so it's a relief to finally see someone else recognise the masterpiece that is far cry 4.

Totally agree with the list. 4 was my favorite by far. Primal and 5 were great. I have not played 6 enough to make my mind up on it. I have played most of the series from the start. Great games.

i was going into this thinking surely FC4 would be in 4th or 3rd place at most, as you ranked FC2 as 3rd i got hyped and then when i saw the jungle, even before you said that 2nd is FC3 i was super happy haha, FC4 is so underrated, its by far my favorite game. 2nd would be FC3 as well, 3rd would probably be Primal or FC5
I only played a few games but I'd rank mine as:

Maybe it's because I haven't played the series when they initially came out and I'm more driven to certain kind of Stories and Survivalist/Prepper culture.
I liked FC5 for the story, ending, customization and Atmosphere (graphics are absolutely stunning)
To me, Far Cry 6 just felt out of place with some things looking a little futuristic like the weaponry and enemies. Plus it doesn't feel it fits in to the universe because as far as I'm aware, the world collapsed but either I think the games are cannon/set in the same universe or each are separate universes but the latter makes no sense when hurk is in FC4, FC5 and New Dawn.
I think 6 is supposed to be set before 5, remember 5 had different endings, so I think it has something to do with the "Walk Away" Ending at the end.

I've just started playing these games, 45yr old and can't believe how much I enjoy playing them. Started far cry 5 and now doing far cry 6 , not sure what's best but to date I liked 5 better so far
The story to farcry 5 is absolutely amazing and the big selection of guns I amazing it should be higher
Haha Im really fond of Farcry4 as well, I recently have been longing to replay FC4 for a long time now. Idk why but the atmosphere, environment of fc4 is just a great attraction to me. I had really great memories of fc3 but when I replayed it after a long time...I just grew tired of the world fairly quickly.
Oh yea and the challenge- especially the fukin fortress, I really really loved it- using sniper to take out enemies sliwky one by one - just sublime

First of all thank you for no spoilers in the video. Second, I totally understand your ranking FC4 over FC3. I love FC3 to death but FC4 did have better mechanics and world compared to 3. I still think 3 is better cause of story & nostalgia but 4 really held its weight and was an amazing/if not better successor to 3.
After fully beating FC4 I started to wonder if the best choice was to just stay with pagan at the start,
after chosing both golden path leaders I saw what power did to them and the best choice for Kyrat was to leave it as it is from the start

Far Cry 4 was my first and most favorite Far Cry. The soundtrack, combat, everything. I know the story wasn’t good for somebody but I gotta say the Control DLC was great. I got to play as Pagan Min and beaten that DLC with just the starting pistol
Far Cry Primal is so far the best for me. Now that I’m playing in 2k I’m enjoying it even more. Graphics looks great and the combat feels the best in the series. When that club connects you feel it and also I like the overall effects of the spears, arrows and other weapons impacting.

Yes 2 was very underrated and overlooked today - Definitely calls for a remaster. Alot of people complained about 5's protagonist being mute, but so was 2. It was also the only one to have a different character selection mode as well. In addition, before Min and Seed, the main antagonist in 2 is highly overlooked when it comes to questioning whose the real villains.
Far Cry in general is just so good and so fun. It's just a top tier gaming series

I feel like the reason Montana wasn't a great location for Far Cry to go is because the series thrives on expansive fantasy worlds. Not to mention most of the player base is American, they see that scenery every day driving to and from work. Something you see every day doesn't have the awe factor that Far Cry maps are known for.

Far cry 4 had the most memorable mission out of them all. The one when Jogi by Punjabi MC plays in the drug den. Classic!
I would love for Far Cry 2 to get remastered to play more smoothly like the newer games and maybe add an extra mini campaign or something. Remake would be nice as well.
If Primal had been a little bit longer and have a better story, it would be talked about in the same breath as 3 and 4.
