The ending build and chorus' are some of the most powerful an breathtaking vocals and bombastic drums I have ever heard. A great Nightwish single from 2002. Originally sung by Tarja. I agree lovely lady. Live is where you find out who really has true talent. They are playing all over Germany is 2022. Deichbrand Festival in Seeflughafen in July. Berlin in November and 7 additional shows in December. Great reaction Bisscute. Loved it! 💖🙏

Your reactions are sooo cute 😁 Floor says this is her most difficult song because she is constantly in the high notes. But that's what she said before Shoemaker came out. So it may have changed, though certainly for other reasons. There it is not the high notes but the lyrics that want to be accommodated vocally in this composition.

As much as I love Floor (and that's pretty damn near endless, don't like Nightwish to much before her) that version doesn't come anywhere near this one. It lacks the soul and energy that Nightwish as a whole injects into their performances. This is of course my subjective opinion. And I respect yours.
Here's my take on Emppu's solos, they are more like featured performances within the score as it's written instead of impromptu riffing. I think the theme for this band is "READ the music". Frank Zappa was like that too. You played what was written. I'm not saying that is ALWAYS the case but the stuff I've seen him play, it comes off understated perhaps cause he's not shredding, but it fits what everyone else is playing and fits perfectly the theme of what's being played. Like in LGS, he's playing the melody of the song..
I suggest you check out Floor singing JAZZ in her solo show in Amsterdam. The song is Slow Love Slow and you can find it on her TH-cam Channel (Floor Jansen) along with a lot of other solo covers.
This has always been one of my favourite songs, I couldn't wait for it when I was at their concert back in 2005 (one of the last ones with Tarja). Even caught Emppu's pick when he threw it like he did a few times in this video (still got it).

if you want more marko the islander tampere live version is the best the original islander is sung by annette and is completely different keep an eye out for original and revamped new versions of their songs the great thing about toumas is that he will not hesitate to make his songs better regardless of how much time has passed . wait until you get into their new album 😁 pay special attn to procession and endlessness lyrics.
Floor said in an interview that this song was for her the hardest to learn to sing. It is getting more and more powerful and it is exactly on the bridge of her voice. That is why she switches to operatic high tones in the song.
There ARE other bands I prefer more cuz they're more my taste... But I would be a liar if I didn't admit that from a pure skill perspective, pure performance and proficiency, Nightiwhs is probably the best band on the planet. They're sooo damn on point, it's surgical precision. Absolutely unbelievable. I know they ARE this good and I still. Can't believe it. If there were a vote and my favorite band placed over Nightwish, it would upset me... Cuz that wouldn't be juste.
I love "ever dream" so much, its nice to see someone react to the song since all my friends seem to think, "its the basic nightwish shit teemu always plays". This is one of my favorites!
