    Where did you buy the watering system for the goats? What did could I look up to find it?

      I built it using a 50 gallon watering tank and a half inch hog watering nipple. There were some plumbing/threading pieces I needed to make them compatible, too. I got the parts and tank at Tractor Supply. 👍

    Hello. Great video with good ideas. How did you make the chicken feeder with the dowel and rod system? Do the goats figure it out after a while?

    • @BackyardHomesteadHQ
      @BackyardHomesteadHQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      The feeder is a 5 gallon bucket with a hole drilled in the bottom. Stick an eye hook in the bottom, and attach a piece of dowel on the end of the eye hook. Unfortunately, the goats do figure it out! The best way to keep goats out of the chicken feed is to completely enclose the chickens to help the goats out. Because the goats can get in any hole the chickens can! At least our goats could!

      I was curious about the feeder too. Do you have some pictures?

    Can you pls let me know how to make the feed and water baskets for the chickens? Can the goats still get into these buckets?

    • @BackyardHomesteadHQ
      @BackyardHomesteadHQ  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I made the chicken feeder out of food-grade buckets from IFA, but the goats could get into them. Nigerian dwarf goats can squeeze in to a space meant for a chicken, so your best bet may be using some sort of a perch climbing system to keep the goats out of the chicken feed. If your goats can't climb like ours, anyway!

    Hi I’m just wondering what is the brand of the goat watering tank

      This is it, though we bought it from Tractor Supply instead of Amazon. amzn.to/3vq5OFz

      What is the tip called that they drink out of or where can I find it

    • @BackyardHomesteadHQ
      @BackyardHomesteadHQ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll want to get some hog watering nipples, like these. amzn.to/3xodvOe
      The 1" ones may be too big, depending on your animals. We got the 1/2" piglet sized watering nipples and they were perfect for the goats.
