Take your grey shaded version, turn every layer off except shading...grills, etc. merge everything, copy, then paste as new later into a new version of your template above the paint color. Turn down opacity to 15-20%, save file. Never worry about your shading again and just paint the base layer.
That’s wild you mention it’s lots of work. Because it is for sure, but I’ve realized I don’t have to worry about rear deck lid, driver firesuit, fine-tuning paint lines meeting across template pieces, other car highlights.
Awesome content! Have you made the tutorial on getting the game working yet through DosBox? I tried and seemed to get it running and getting the 3dfx logo to appear, but still had the wheel lurch so I gave up for the time being.
Try the "N2 3dfx" exe in this. Just put it all into a new folder and go. Doesn't need DOSbox, and the wheel lurch should be fixed. Your anti-virus will get mad, but it's worth it haha drive.google.com/file/d/1U4WJofIkIl-8NZs3J_9lIkl0PCXIufLA/view?usp=drive_link
@@BlueOvalHero hell yeah. Probably will be sometime in early January. I’m still putting together the Ford Chevy Pontiac templates. Then we can bounce things off each other and whatnot.
@@BlueOvalHero Are you still interested in painting cars? I have the Ford T-Bird template pretty much finalized. Would just have to walk you through a few things in the template -- probably in a short video or something. I'm not expecting you to take on too much since the templates I've made aren't really drag-and-drop things. A fair amount of fine tweaking involved. At the same time, I'm averaging about 90 minutes per car, so I don't know.
Man watching you bring these to life is F'ING IMPRESSIVE
Thanks! I’ve actually caught myself sitting back looking at it like…oh wow
@@ACracing24 Yeah cause it's the shit bro! You've got some talent at this
@@Mr.McBradford2 I'm looking forward to painting after this season wraps up.

It WOULD work, but the opacity would result in colors not matching the palette on the right. Trust me, I’ve tried!
@@ACracing24 poo 😞
@@CJPostal yeah haha. I made that exact face when I realized.
Looks great. Good job!
Thanks! Looking forward to painting after the season!
Lots of work. I forgot how basic it was if you only use the game editor. I started painting when NR4 came out.

I did not make that Budweiser car. That's one of CC48's cars. Mine has not released yet! :)
Noted! I recorded this back before you told me about CC48.

@@ACracing24 works like a champ! Thanks! Now to find my old TEN online setups ...
Awesome looking! Any chance you can release your template at some point?
Absolutely. Once I have them finalized, I will. Hell maybe someone wants to help with the 94 set or something.
@ACracing24 I used to paint all the time. I use photoshop. I wouldn't mind helping paint a few cars man.
