1/17/24 update: Multiple people have e-mailed offering up their N2 folders packed with utilities, cockpits, et cetera. For the time being, I'm prioritizing things that help the in-game racing. I hate the idea that I'm the gatekeeper of all of these things until I can get them on the site, but it is what it is. I appreciate the offers for help, but a friend of mine is actually bringing his laptop over tomorrow and we'll get it all sorted. Will post an update video of some kind with all of the new additions. -RELS description has been added. -NGlide wrapper instructions have been added. It fixes the ghosting of the red needle on the gauges.
I have the game downloaded and I have been encountering an issue where my mouse pointer doesn't reach the right side of my screen or the bottom corner making it impossible to access all menus
@@ACracing24 Install works great though, got it up and running in seconds. Game works fine with a stock Logitech G29 although I can't get the centering spring to stay on while N99 is open so the wheel is super light/dead. Is what it is, I guess.
Oh man memories! I loved the Hoffman mod - the ability to paint the decklid was mindblowing at the time. I spent WAY too much time playing that when I was younger.
LOL and you were worried about all this not being simple enough to understand. That's awesome man, way to make a classic SO EASY to get running and modded the way people want for everyone. Good job man 👍👍👍
That's cool that the championship works too! in my experience N99 absolutely GLITCHES THE HELL OUT trying to get the championship going, I didn't know how that would effect this build since.. well you know how this got running on windows lmao
My brother thank you for making this ... I can't wait to get back into playing NR2! My kids have been asking me when I'm going to redownload it after watching this NR2 season
Thank you very much for doing this. I bought this game for cheap in Boston back in 1998? Didn't know anything about Nascar except that the box cover looked exciting. Brought it home to the UK, fired it up on my then, super crappy, desktop and used to play it deep into the night. The 'save-game' feature was/is brilliant as I could run full length races over the course of a week if necessary when life got in the way. This game started a lifelong passion for Nascar. Back then, it was very difficult to find real coverage on TV. These days, I watch the full season.
Awesome!!! Excited for the paint shop stuff, want to see if I can get the cars I've made over the last 20 years in the in-game paint editor to actually look more professional.
AC, i love this!!! I have wanted to go back and play NR2 for years and now you have made it so easy. I remember back when this came out and finding out about the community and IWCCCARS and being so excited to field cars with correct sponsorship and all that. You are the man!!!!!!!
Hell yeah! However, I'm realizing that running everything with N99 is the superior route. We'll lose the N2 aesthetic, but the trade-offs are too good not to do it. That'll be in a few weeks. Anything you change in the current game will be easily transferred over, so it's not a huge deal. At least I think so? haha
some mod I remember: -The realistic cockpit project, by roberto aroteguy. He made the 3D render and it looks amazing, very similar to what would be the future cockpit in Nasca4. He also relocated the gauges. I made a mod out of it... in my version I took the PCXs and made the version for nr99 (with day and night), and also I removed the fuel gauge and left only the light. It was called TRCP and was around some websites, it was a cockpit similar to the future N4 cockpit. I will look around and see if I find my modified version or even his original. -The mirror fix, to remove blind spots.I couldn´t find it, it really helps and is needed. -Pit box , if you edit the pit files properly you can get the first pit, which is awesome. -3D wheels, this happened in N3 I think, there was an official papyrus patch to have 3d wheels.
I found the cockpit !! check it out here, its like the nascar4 cockpit but for n2. zip file and screenshot. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1jH_jswHarBUh_AXiTQKEuZ8jdaO9cJat?usp=sharing I realize with Bing you can find more stuff than google.
Dude i was rollin on nr3, but im gonna have to download this and try it as nr2 was the one i had on an old shitty ibm pc that got me started sim racing!!!
Ugh! Yeah I should have mentioned that. You have to be kind of delicate when mousing around. Before you click anything, move the mouse around more until you see the game’s pointer active, then you should be good. I think there’s a setting in the Voodoo settings to help with that.
My T300 Wheel registers ok under the Controlers page but in the game, nothing happens. The car doesnt move. Do I need to release the brake or something.
does anyone know how to show the gauges in chase view? and why cant i see my speed or what gear im in in cockpit view? also how do i look left and right in cockpit view?
I'm not sure I like Windy.... the driving feels a lot different. Specifically, you seem to hold a lot more speed when off the throttle compared to the real N2. Graphics are nicer though and its a bit easier to use than dosbox.

Yeah I’m looking forward to digging into that

Hey, I can't get the window size to stay consistant, if I click to far on the edge it resizes the window and fucks everything up.

does anyone know how to install NASCAR racing 3 and the truck series expansion pack

I’m not 100% sure on wheels and joysticks. If you find a solution, I can add to site
I just wish the paddle shifters or my stick shift would work :(
For the paddle shifter, you could download antimicrox. You can map numpad8 to the paddle shifter for example. Or whatever you want to do.
I like the city Chevy
One of my faves too
does anyone know how to show the gauges in chase view? and why cant i see my speed or what gear im in in cockpit view? also how do i look left and right in cockpit view?
You can't show gauges in chase view, I am pretty sure. Press "S" for speed/gear in cockpit. And there is no left-and-right look option.
You should use a days of thunder car 🚗 go Cole Trickle 😊
Gonna have to eventually!
