Not really, for example my DNA shows Gaul + Scythian + Roman + Illyrian. With some Gepid - Ostrogoth - Goth. I have 0 % or any relation to Pamir Mountains. and I am considered contemporary bulgarian.

Persians are Indo-Europeans. Everything from Christmas to gardens such as Versailles can be traced back to Persia.
