    Its been almost a 2 year search (off & on) but finally placed the order tonight. A HUGE thank you to Amy and Allysa, I had alot of questions and they kindly answered them all. My wife says I researched this and am more excited for this than purchasing a new vehicle 🤣😂….she’s not wrong.

    We bought a Synchronika from WLL in 2020 and the only notable issue is the plastic T that would break every year or so until we replaced it with a metal part. I'm glad to see this new model uses a brass T from the factory! Ours is still going strong but this looks like a good upgrade when the time comes.

    • @Wholelattelovepage

      Hey t, Thanks for the comment and your patronage! Yes, a few years back Profitec/ECM started using metal Ts for the internal moisture venting systems in all their machines.

    I recently bought the older Synchronika shortly after the II had been announced. I purposely picked the older one, because to me the fast heat up feature is not a significant advantage since I mostly make milk drinks and the steam boiler doesn’t heat up any faster with the new one. Mine has the fast heat up mode and it’s plenty fast for me. I usually turn the machine on when I wake up and by the time I’m ready for the day, the machine is ready as well. The new display is nice, but I really wanted a mostly old school mechanical machine (hence an E61 machine instead of something more digital). The old one is currently available for about $500 less than the new model. I’m very happy with my purchase.

    The plastic t failed on my 2019 synchronika and steam leaked inside of the machine.
    I caught it early, and it was a very quick, cheap, and easy repair
    Marc is right when he says it easy to work on.

    • @Wholelattelovepage

      Hey tp, thanks for the comment. Super easy to work on. ECM was one of the first manufactures to pipe internal moisture to drip tray. Always innovating! All ECM/Profitec machines have replaced the "T" fittings with metal hardware. Just had a Profitec Move opened up today - same there.

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey, both are great machines. The choice really comes down to your priorities - features and build vs. price and aesthetics. Under the hood the Drive and Synchronika are essentially identical with same boilers, pump, etc. Profitec and ECM are sister companies. Notable differences on Synchronika: has electric cartridge heaters built into the group head to assist with initial heat up time, rotary push knob control, more refined exterior finish with angled portafilters and tapered group head, super easy access to internals. Available functions and specs are same between the machines. Hope that helps!

    I have owned the ECM Synchronika for three years now since my purchase from Whole Latte Love and this machine continues to amaze me and every single visitor that comes to my house. It's direct plumbing through the filter has also been trouble free. I can honestly vouch for ECM all day long. The brews haven't skipped a beat and reliability is exceptional.
    I'm glad to see the addition of the On/Off timer, the new digital screen and the fast pre-heating of the Synchronika II. Just made this machine perfect. My only wish, I wish they redesign the plastic drain tray at the bottom. Other than that, I probably intend to upgrade to this Synchronika II but not really a necessary upgrade as my machine has been flawless👌

    Great improvements but I wish the display would just show, both boiler temps and group temp all at the same time. I appreciate the aesthetic of the small display but it could have been made a tab bit larger to show all of that data. I have the original syn machine and I don’t like the flip flopping display.

    Can confirm it is amazing, I have had mine for about 3-4 weeks now, big upgrade from a Gaggia Classic! The preinfusion is great, haven’t mastered the steam yet, not sure what I’m doing wrong as I had latte art locked in with the Gaggia, despite it taking about 2 minutes to steam the milk 🤓

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey AH, thanks for sharing. You might adjust steam boiler temp to suit your frothing style? Some like all the pressure they can get. Others turn down the temp for less aggressive frothing and more time to work the milk. 2 minutes on a Classic seems really long! Just did some tests on the Classic last week. It took 35 seconds to heat 150ml/5oz fridge temp milk to 60C/140F. On the Classic there's a sweet spot for best steam power about 30 seconds after pushing the steam switch.

    • @AlastairHodgson
      @AlastairHodgson 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Wholelattelovepage Yeah, I may reduce the temp to see how that goes, I do like the rapidity of the steaming though, just need to perfect the technique. Maybe 2 minutes was a slight exaggeration on the classic lol, I have quite an old one with a modded PID, and steaming milk for two flat whites with 165g of cold milk is close to a 5 minute job, no joke!

    No doubt it is a well build, great machine. I am struggling between the Profitect 600 and this one. Couple of things I would consider if I were ECM/Profitec... A WATER LEVEL indicator will be very useful and helpful. How about an integrated scale? The new PID control is a great improvement, but it is still a whole generation behind. Using smartphone to make setting changes (thinking about setting on/off schedule) will be so much easier, and can be done remotely. I do notice many owners buy an extra smart switch, which is shameful for ECM/Profitec.

    In Australia, the ECM machine is almost $6000. My Breville dual boiler, had a tiny spring on the vacuum relief valve, so when the steam boiler heated up you didn't get that massive jet of steam before it plugs. I honestly wish profitec and ECM would add a spring to keep the vacuum. Relief valve closed during heat up to avoid excess water and steam splatter.

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi r, Thanks for the comment. It's a tiny amount of water from the ECM's vacuum relief. A small amount of steam and a few drops of water. It's all captured and routed to the drip tray - no internal venting.

    I think it’s fair to say that Bezerra came out with an electronic group head heating element first but not on a E61. Wondering how the Bezerra Matrix DE or MN compare to the Synchronica 2. Seems like Becerra thought about if this features back in 2018.

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi s, yes they've had the heated BZ group for awhile now. In Bezerra machines it's purpose is for brew temperature stability. In the Synchronika, it's unique because it's incorporated into an E61 group. It's function there is to help the machine be ready to brew faster - it's turned of once the machine is warmed up.

I have cartridge heating in my Xenia DB but that is not widely available in the US, and this has the advantage of a flow control option which is not available on the Bezzera DE machines.

      Hey s, Thanks for the interest. I have no hard data on reliability. But I do have experience with brew head heating elements in Bezzera BZ groups. I spoke with our Lead Machine Tech who says those have historically been very robust. He also mentioned he would expect even higher reliability in the Synchronika II as those elements are only active during the Fast Heat cycle whereas the BZ group's are always on maintaining the temp. Hi. Thinking of purchasing this Synchronika II with the flow control. If I only use reservoir water, how would the flow control pair with the ‘digital’ pre infusion? Would it need to be turned off?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi l, thanks for the question. If using programmable pre-infusion I recommend setting the flow control to produce the stock flow rate by opening the flow control valve 1.25 turn from the closed/no flow position. It is possible to to use flow control in combo with pre-infusion. For instance, if you were extracting a very fresh light roast coffee you might use a few seconds of active pre-infusion to wet the puck then 10 seconds of passive pre-infusion. That type of pre-infusion allows CO2 to off gas so brew water makes better contact with a denser lighter roast coffee. When the pump comes back on you could slowly move the flow rate lower as the extraction progresses.

    What steam temp do you recommend for a household that mostly does milk based drinks?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey tpc, thanks for the question. Steam temp is a personal and often experienced based preference. If you're new to milk frothing a lower temperature results in less steam pressure which gives you more time to froth your milk before it gets too hot. Higher temp gives more pressure which produces a more vigorous roll in the pitcher helping to produce a finer froth and heats the milk faster. Pro Baristas generally prefer more pressure. Hope that helps!

    Any recommendations choosing between Synchronika II or Profitec Drive?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey sultan, thanks for the question. The majority of internal components like boilers, pump etc in those machines are identical. The Synch II upgrades over the Drive include: Electric capsule heaters in the group for faster warmup, push button dial for function setting and control, high front face gauge mount location, more refined finishing details and easy access to internals with quick panel removal. For brewing and steaming, capabilities and potential quality are essentially identical. It really comes down deciding if those features and qualities are worth the price difference to you. Hope that helps!

    Hello Marc, getting ready to order one. Just wondering though, does this run off a regular 15 amp circuit or does it require a 20amp dedicated?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey th, It does not require dedicated 20amp circuit and uses standard Edison type plug in North America. Max draw rating on the machine is 1600 watts which is 13.3 amps at 120 volts so getting close to 15 amps. I always try to use a 20 amp circuit.

    I have this machine from WLL - enjoying it getting ready to hard plumb it. What is the water supply rotating 90 degree on the bottom? Can I remove that or does it do more? If it is just for rotation ok but?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi l, Happy to hear you are enjoying your Synchronika II and thanks for the question and your patronage. Yes, it's a rotational valve to allow routing of the braided stainless plumb line in any direction. Not sure why you'd want to remove it as you'd have to replace with another 90 degree fitting that would be less flexible for routing of the hose.
