well... I'd argue the cover is better since it doesn't have that flimsy paper over cardboard like the normal edition has (checked them at the bookstore today). slipcase protects it as well, moreso during shipping... I just don't understand why it's 10times the price.

@@FangedCutie ok, so I’ve purchased the regular-sized hard cover edition of Jim Kay illustrated HP 1-4, and they have all the illustrations. The only differences between the collector’s editions and mine are the plain covers (they don’t feature the gold cover illustrations), they also lack the gold gilt-edged pages, and the pull-out double gatefold ‘poster’. All this plus the page size difference.
Love your HP content.... Chamber of Secrets illustration is Professor Sprout's Herbology Greenhouse classes but I get her and Madam Pomfrey mixed up sometimes, too. :) Lovely books! I have the Scholastic editions and love the illustrations. So cute how Lexi came in to check out the books. She's so sweet and Kol sends her many purrrrrrssssss. Love your new office, btw, it's gorgeous! :)

reading them is such a different world I wish you could wipe your memory and read them first but I really hope you do read them theres so much to the story not shown in the movies

started reading harry potter recently in late august 2023 and i am hyped on the both the stories and the abundance of different editions of the franchise🤯 i have only finished philosopher's stone paperback illustrated edition by jim kay (the one with hagrid driving/flying over night sky as the book cover) and waiting for my order of the chamber of secrets, also paperback illustrated by jim kay🤓 i really really want to read the next volumes with the full graphic experience in the deluxe editions or at least the illustrated ones but they're both too expensive for me right now, so for now i would have to postpone my reading to a later time🥲

I got my deluxe editions from The Book Depository. Be warned, they are very expensive. Also, they sell both Bloomsbury (UK) and Scholastic (USA) versions. They're the same special editions with different publishers' imprint. Bloomsbury(s) are called Deluxe editions. Scholastic(s) are called Collector's editions. Don't know why. When I bought mine over the years, Bloomsbury versions were slightly cheaper in price, but still very expensive.

had me heart set on these but now i seen whats inside its not enough illustrations seems bare to be fair for its price tag. now i know its smaller but look at Minalima Illustrated Edition its beautiful and loaded with illustrations for a fraction of the price. so it seems you paying for a bigger book
