A Brennan Lee Mulligan monologue? On MY channel??? Yis. I'm genuinely so excited for you all to watch this, I'm so proud of some of the sequences! I tried some new animation styles I've only dabbled in before and I think they work really well with the existing style, so hopefully I'll come up with excuses to use them more often!

Sam provided Brennan with a hollowed-out pumpkin full of meat and Brennan went bonkers
I think that's sams favorite pass time, giving Brennan permission to go buckwild.

Brennan's kid slowly sneaking away from the conversation is GOLD.
the juxtaposition between pencil doodles and polished drawings during the explanations is just so freaking rad XD
With this and the jellyfish puberty prompt, I think Brennan is all set for fatherhood
He just really wants to be a dad
He would be the perfect father figure for any conceivable creature.

He sounds so natural with this like he's pulling from personal experience in parenting a chosen one
He probably has run as the parents of a chosen one in one of his games :P
The way he seamlessly switches back and forth between the birds and the bees, and the Chosen One lore, is pure wit and genius.
Sam truly knowing what his players want. Which is coincidentally also what Sam wants.
And what the audience wants
He's a man of the people
That Brennan can just casually blerp out the foundation of a kick ass dark fantasy novel...love it.
And it sounded legit!
The gag of the teen actually watching Game Changer is so brilliant 😂
And everyone reacting to the sketch from the computer screen 😂
He had a game controller. He wasn't watching Game Changer, he was *playing* the tie-in video game that doesn't exist but totally should.
The piece of the sword may be running out of time but clearly DBI's not running out of amazing animations anytime soon!
“Much like birds build a nest, the dark sun built a sword.” The visual contrast and timing between the doodle bird and the dark sun is top-notch!! Absolutely wonderful!

When/If Brennan becomes a dad, that kid is going to have the most epic childhood. Also his dad jokes would be astronomical
Brennan having worked at a LARP camp, being a fantastic DM, an amazing narrator and a caring person would be the best dad ever.
Brennan's mom, the author of the Starstruck comic series, being a part of why Brennan is who he is, would be an amazing grandma.

Brennan: "Son, you know you can't. I'm sorry, bud, but it'll fill you up, and then you'll eat less of the healthy dinner and just replace it with sugar, which isn't good for you. If you still have room after the meal, you can have a cookie then, deal?"
Kid: "...mom, can I have a cookie before dinner?"
Izzy: "Sure, go nuts. Life is short, enjoy yourself! Want me to get you the good stuff?"

Brennan is going to tell his kid the BEST bedtime stories EVER
Brennan's facial expressions changing from the embarrassed "That's how they make new people" to the intense "That's also how they make the Shadow Ones" is absolutely fantastic art.
The moment I saw the little pencil bee, I knew I loved him. When the bee smacked its face in the flower, I knew I'd die for him 😭❤

This was a delight beginning to end. After the prompt, nothing else in my room existed and there was only DBI Brennan.
This was so much more than I could have ever anticipated. How in the ninth son is this unscripted?? Genuinely amazing.

Having Sam and the other guys on the computer screen behind Dad Brennan and his kid makes it look like they're watching this whole thing as a social experiment which has terrifying and hilarious implications
i think brennan just has a whole library of lore in his head that he pulls from from time to time in moments like this. just a walking library of lore man
He's like one of those guys with racks and racks of trays with different lego pices and 30 years of lego engineering experience.
It looks like magic to an outsider, but give him a prompt and he'll craft a masterwork in seconds.
It's not always just Drawfee. DeepBlueInk can bring *anyone's* insane, slightly disturbing nonsense to life with animation.
And we salute him for that.

Brennan 'Dad' Mulligan
deep blue ink does never disappoint, do they? the "are you winning, son?" angle is just so perfect. I love my dad, but I find it hard not to think that Brennan would've been an awesome substitute.
The shapes and colors in the image of the Dark Sun foreshadowing the Eye Within was some unexpected worldbuilding on your part.

Brennan takes off-the-shelf lore components to then assemble and deliver the wildest ish off the dome in moments. To quote a famous man: "You've gotta give it up for that."
"It's like lettin' a golden retriever out in the backyard, that's what it feels like ta' me." Same, Sam. Same. It's how I feel whenever I see DBI animating Brennan monologues.

I love how the son stays nervous and scared for the entire monologue
They both look so happy and comfortable to be having this conversation 😊
Brennan honestly just says, "Domain Expansion: Fantasy Babble" and pulls it off with flying colors every single time.
I love how despite everything extra, this was still a far better talk than I ever got from my parents.
Fantastic. Loved the Easter egg of the rest of the cast in the son's PC.

I really like that the son was watching the other people onset on the computer screen. A very nice touch to animate everyone else's reactions while still having the scene set in a bedroom.

The vibes on this one are pristine. The animation is incredible (damn that's a smooth bee) and the storyboarding and imagery is top-notch. That transition into "at the beginning of time" was chefs kiss. I mean wow, talk about an animation that elevates the source audio.
Oh god. The title and thumbnail, together imply horrors.
I'm not sure the animation's gonna help dissuade you of that

This is just how Brennan exists and I love him for it.
You can tell how powerful this kid is. He’s watching the very show where the very idea of him was created in.

This was incredible! Your expressions are amazing, I could really feel how uncomfortable that kid was while his dad lectured him about how his body was changing into a piece of the Dark Sun’s Sword
Not gonna lie this is a very intriguing premise, you can make a whole story out of this

Sam has said that he sees part of his job as giving Brennan fodder for future seasons of D20.

The idea of explaining "chosen one" lore, together with the birds and the bees is a really compelling idea, but it's so full of second hand embarrassment that I would not be able to handle it and I would stop watching whatever it was

oh i love this so much!! and the sketchy parts with the bee and the bird, and the animation with the sun and the sword- mmMM it's all so good (all your animations are always so good)!
also!! ever since i learned about rigging and animating puppets in toonboom from some classes i took this year, i have such a new perspective watching your animations. i find myself not only enjoying what you make, but also how you make it. i'm watching all the characters move and going "oh! this is how you did that, i see what you did there. these are different drawing substitutions!! those limbs got deformers! are there master controllers for the heads!? aaaaah!!" and then seeing twitch streams where you're working on these animations is so cool to see, especially now that i better understand what you're doing. i just have such an appreciation for it. i love your stuff, man, keep up the amazing work!

In the beginning there were only two beings, the host and the storyteller. The host was the beginning of all things and the end of all things, however all he could do was spark and extinguish. The sparks however meant little on their own. That is where the storyteller was needed. Though he could not create from nothing he could weave beautiful tapestries out of the sparks which the host provided. Some say that we are in one of these fabled works of beauty but none can say as to their reliability.

Wow! This is definitely one of my favorites! I love the crayon bee so much and that way he mashes his face into the flower. That fadeout into the Ridiculous Fantasy Origin of the Sword was a great choice too.

You took the classic Brennan mindblowing lore narrative and constructed such an awesome visual representation of it! I love the juxtaposed graphics you used to interpret this alongside your usual scene style! The way you depicted the ~in the beginning 999 souls forged in the dark sun~ part was really pleasing to my brain. (Wish I had a good descriptor for the visual style of those bits, I've just fallen down such a big wikipedia rabbithole.)
A Brendan Lee moment along with your animation style is just so much to take in at once.
The bee near instantly plopping their face into the flower was my personal favorite. But of course the entirety of the animation has gold nuggets strewn throughout it!

Something to make Friday suck less! I saw this an immediately started singing "NEEEEW INK! I got NEEEEW INK!" This looks so great. The expressions of them as they have "the talk." ((shudder)) It brought back memories I have to laugh at, because the only alternative is to get therapy!
