I love the contemplative silence Julia stays in until chiming in to build on Jacob's semi-spongebobless, crabless, Luciless, squidward centric scenario. True love.
Sometimes there's streams where julia is just kinda silent for like the first 10~15 minutes, and those always result in her contributing the wildest shit to a conversation that's been going on since the stream started. it's so fantastic.
The silencer you feel when Julia hasn’t talked in 10+ min and you start to think “oh god, what is she doing?”
Sisyphus was a lightweight. No struggle is as eternal as Jacob Drawfee trying to introduce the premise of the episode.

I love that so many of their bits just don’t have a payoff. It is just making Jacob as annoyed as possible while trying to set up. It’s great
I don’t know, Julia asking if Lucille Ball was a crab hit me harder than any punchline could’ve.

Jacob's annoyance IS the payoff. Just like the deafening silence or audible confusion at Julia's jokes is their payoff (I think they're usually hilarious and the confusion makes it better)
Not sure if "yes and" or "but why".
In this one Jacob ends up saying that he was ready for more and that he expected it to go deeper 😂

Horseshoe crabs actually arent crabs though, he's totally right! They're actually "Chelicerates" more closely related to spiders, ticks, and scorpions than any crab! Theyre basically bugs that live underwater, and used to be much much more common a ridiculously long time ago.

@@chrismanuel9768 Correct, they're Crustaceans which are a variety of Arthropods, a category that also includes insects and arachnids and basically every other invertebrate with some form of exoskeleton. Notably though Crustaceans are more closely related to insects than they are to Chelicerates, so yeah, by all functional definitions of the word, crabs are just bugs that live underwater.
The phrase "Sunk Cost Fallacy" comes to mind, Jacob. Cut your losses while you can, Jacob, before the phrase becomes a crab and no longer exists.
It's all going to be crabs eventually 🤷♂️

Nathan's devastation as he is overwhelmed by the thought of having never seen an elephant before is beautifully captured at 0:10. Their stunned silence is impeccable.
And now you also have to imagine an universe where Spongebob is retconned, where Spongebob still works at a restaurant but it's owned by Squidward because Mr. Krabs doesn't exist in the show and Plankton has been moved to Rugrats, and his restaurant has been taken over by Sandy.
Yum Yum gotta get me an order of those squiddly diddlies
Ultimately, isn't this just an AU based on that episode where Squidward turns the Krusty Krab into a fancy restaurant to show up his rival?

Yeah. I feel it so hard. Like it's been a tiresome week and all my players are getting a bit loopy at the table. Trying to form a simple roleplaying sentence without interruption and diversion can sometimes be impossible.
2:07 the way Julia throws her hands up and deadpan says Shrimp and then just keeps her little arms up for a qhile is way too adorable
This was an incredible bit and you nailed it! I love that it is in a nearly empty auditorium, that merobiba is there and classified as an animal, spongebobby, the sudden transportation to the sea side to see the horseshoe crab and the blank expressions when Jacob says "it just felt right". Just wonderful

It took 3 whole minutes for Jacob to say what he wanted, and what he wanted to say would took 10 seconds with a less chaotic audience. Truly, the drawfee-est of Drawfee bits.
They are doing everything in their power to keep jacob from getting to the point

The worldbuilding of crabs has gone so deep in our universe that we cannot imagine one without them
This is the explanation for carcinization, the process by which every arthropod gradually becomes more like a crab.
I always forget they’re not ACTUALLY in these settings. Your animations contextualize them perfectly and make so much sense.
The only thing I can imagine is Nathan saying Kraaab.
The only thing greater than my love for Karina’s chaotic energy is the comfort that comes from knowing it will never be turned against me.
The possibility of the searing spotlight that is Karina’s ferocious younger sibling energy being upon you is low, but it is never zero.
I love how Jacob just wants to make a basic point and Karina and Nathan then drag him down a rabbit hole of universe building whether he likes it or not 😭😭😭
It has *LITERALLY* JUST DAWNED ON ME that both Spongebob and Squidward have Julia's Bobby Hill face and Julia TELEPORTS when they're first shown because she's doing the chalk drawings for Jacob. GENIUS attention to detail for this animation. Good *_GOD_* DBI!

I always love seeing how you recontextualize bits like this through the setting. It adds so much.

This is amazing. I love the zoom in on the faces when Jacob says I Love Lucy doesn’t exist, and the terror on Julia’s face when she asks if Lucy is a crab. 100/10 animation.

I forgot how absurdly long this bit went on for, and it's incredible.
Jacob is so used to the other three ruining his bits with silly questions that he’s resigned himself to just going along with them, in hopes of _maybe_ being able to loop back around. To what I imagine was his silent shock, it worked this time.
That, and when Drawtectives Season 3 comes around, he’s going to at least get back at Julia by razzing her like she and Nathan + Karina razzed him.
Merobiba being referenced as the animal living in their room is so funny
I missed this Drawfee episode but from the title alone, I still went the John Lennon “Imagine” route that Julia did, and that makes me happy.
I love how off the rails these guys go. Karina is such a chaos gremlin, she brings the funny.
That episode was SO good, I really recommend it.

Let us not forget that horseshoe crabs are all canonically bottoms in the Drawfee lore. I feel like this is essential information.
This was amazing timing. I was JUST thinking this morning that we haven't had a good animation of everyone bullying Jacob while he tries to do an intro for a while.
I love how its supposed to be "imagine finding a crab for the first time." Into "spongebob lore in alternate universe" and then back to "crab for the first time"

They always seem to find the right derailments and I’m here for it. A more entertaining version of the “anticipation” joke because I’m not sure what the end goal was, I’m sure I’ll get there, but first I’m going to enjoy the very scenic route Drawfee demands we go on to get there. Seeing these moments animated by DBI are just beautiful cause the expressions and included jokes brings the bar notches higher than it was

I like this as a choice for your style blue, it's longer, but the pace is pretty steady, so you don't have to rush to much on setting the stage, and can linger in the absurdity.
