I never realized that Brennan's answer 'pheasant' was actually correct for his first bird! That makes the bit even better, 'JUST penguin? Just penguin. Ok.'
@arkhaan7066 what gets me, is that I knew the spoonbill, AND the sage grouse (thanks TV animal documentaries!) but can't tell if I would have been marked right or wrong because I would have said "spoonbill" not "*rosate* spoonbill" and "sage grouse" not "*greater* sage grouse" and they could have marked it either way depending on if I was getting the "Brennan" treatment or the "everyone else" treatment. Despite not being in any way associated with this show, this fact haunts me.
@@FistoftheSnackBar Keep in mind the REAL challenge for that episode was maintaining a low heart rate so the actual question/answer part doesn't matter, it's just a test at how well Brennan can ignore deliberate trolling. I can understand for sure, one is about ambition and the other is about compulsion. And then there’s also self image mixed in there. I for instance am not at all competitive, I just want to do well at things. In something like bowling, this means I can come in last place, but if I’m happy with my score, I’m perfectly happy. It's especially infuriating when you know that a Siamese fireback *is* a pheasant and if he'd gotten the penguin they probably would have wanted the scientific name or something 😂
The context of the episode makes it even funnier because of how focused Brennan is on staying calm and keeping his heart rate down. He's playing the game in an almost trance like state of disattachment, and then this segment happens and he starts to come off the hinges.
One moment that I feel really shows Brennan's competitive nature is in the Jeopardy episode of Game Changer (I know a lot of people didn't watch that one because it was when they had to record the episodes over Zoom). Basically, Sam outright tells Brennan that he cannot complete the challenge on his own, to which Brennan immediately starts trying to think of a workaround. There’s also an episode where they have to come in second during each challenge to win points and Brennan also goes off on a rant monologue for that because not trying his hardest is like losing to him as well. It’s so freaking funny!
I love it when Brennan gets competitive! And the fact his mom told that story means its his nature and that makes it so much funnier! i really want a full game show with him as the host. like a crazier nerdier version of family feud. His adlib is masterful!
I’m fairly new to Dropout content since the change, but I picked up on Brennan’s inability to lose almost _immediately_ Also the DBI animations of Brennan’s rant about the point system and when he can’t win are both AMAZING.

The wikipedia entry for a Siamese Fireback says that it's a species of pheasant. The fact that he guessed pheasant is actually impressive, and also is so much pettier on Sam's part that he didn't give Brennan a point lol!
So many good edits in this compilation! I think it was seeing Sam's face superimposed on Daedelus that fully sent me, but the record scratch on the Siamese fireback appearing onscreen is so great

I remember there was also a college humor skit where brennan and some of the others were doing "ice breaker questions" and brennan tried to "win" then by having the best answers. And im like, this has been baked into the core of his character since his conception with college humor 😂
There is also one episode where a contestant forgets to say um, actually, the other contestant graciously doesn't jump on it to the praise of everyone else (including Brennan), and then Brennan shamelessly repeats the answer to get the point

The fade out of the greater sage grouse😭😭
We're going into the history of Brennan's competitive nature but not showing him on Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? 😅 I guess that's because it was a solo competition haha
The edits were out of this world, goddamn, you're amazing!
thank you!! 💗
It is just so great! Makes a funny show even funnier
"I would do anything to win anything."
- Brennan Lee Mulligan
There’s also an episode where they have to come in second during each challenge to win points and Brennan also goes off on a rant monologue for that because not trying his hardest is like losing to him as well. It’s so freaking funny!
this was such a great edit!! good to have u back and looking forward to what u make next :))
thank you so much
"I would die on any hill" Mulligan
The editing of this video is just beautifully immaculate. ❤
tysm ❤❤
I love it when Brennan gets competitive! And the fact his mom told that story means its his nature and that makes it so much funnier! i really want a full game show with him as the host. like a crazier nerdier version of family feud. His adlib is masterful!
The editing and choice of bits are just .
haha thank you!!
I’m fairly new to Dropout content since the change, but I picked up on Brennan’s inability to lose almost _immediately_
Also the DBI animations of Brennan’s rant about the point system and when he can’t win are both AMAZING.
I’m so glad you included the rant at the end, it’s my fav scene of his 😁
0:10 oh so Brennan is basically Pariston from Hunter x Hunter
Can't wait for the dropout chairman election arc when Sam finally retires
Bingo inception was also pretty amazing when watch Brennan’s soul just die learning he was never even playing the game that was actually happening 2 layers above him.
Such a good edit!! ❤ also made me think of the um, actually ep where he started arguing an answer for media he had never seen/played and admitted “I will die on ANY hill.” 😂
ty!! and YES i love that episode lol
"*defeated yeah.... that point goes to brennan :("
I love your videos, can't wait for more
thank you sm!!
The wikipedia entry for a Siamese Fireback says that it's a species of pheasant. The fact that he guessed pheasant is actually impressive, and also is so much pettier on Sam's part that he didn't give Brennan a point lol!
"Do we all get crowns?"
"Uh, we only have two."
"GOD-"
I want you to know how much the editing of this video added to my laughter, it's honestly perfect
I love this man. I want to be his friend so badly
So many good edits in this compilation! I think it was seeing Sam's face superimposed on Daedelus that fully sent me, but the record scratch on the Siamese fireback appearing onscreen is so great
3:28 the way his face drops
This was perfect. The bird bit is my all time fav glad it made the video.
loved this dearly, fantastic collection, but I do personally think a clip that should be added is during survivor where he has a loopdeloop and they're all freaking and it just cuts to brennan quietly in the interview area thingy and he just matter-of-fact goes "do you think I fuck around???" lmao
HAHA that bit made me laugh so hard the first time i saw it
@@dimensiondropout same oml it was such an abrupt cut from a yelly chaotic clip to just Brennan sitting in the center of the frame lmao
The fakeout closer and the edit in the end is awesome😂😂😂😂❤
I would do anything to win anything...that was me until I had kids.
I've seen these clips in so many compilations at this point. This is by far the best one. The editing in this is just - *chef's kiss*
I remember there was also a college humor skit where brennan and some of the others were doing "ice breaker questions" and brennan tried to "win" then by having the best answers. And im like, this has been baked into the core of his character since his conception with college humor 😂
Brennan whispering "calm down" to himself cracks me up
My god, Brennan's surprise monologues remain some of the best $417 on this earth! 😂
Reminds me of the College Humour sketch about Brennan trying to win none competitive games....including dislocating his arms to win a trust exercise.
Another good moment is brennen saying “I will die on any hill” in an episode of um actually
There is also one episode where a contestant forgets to say um, actually, the other contestant graciously doesn't jump on it to the praise of everyone else (including Brennan), and then Brennan shamelessly repeats the answer to get the point
The note of "this is the PILOT EPISODE of this show" is exactly the right energy for that moment
“Siamese Fireback” is a pheasant. Damn Sam is not pulling punches
Great compilation, great moments chosen, but dear fucking lord can we PLEASE bring attention to this masterpiece of comedic video editing
this editing is fucking insane, I love it
LMAO tysm!
Word.
3:35 the fact that the wiki clearly says it IS a type of pheasant and Sam just railroads him, then accepts rooster immediately after is *chef's kiss*
