@@chic7204 first I must admit although having travelled the entire length of Japan over the last 10 years I still haven't been to takayama or toyama/ishikawa. And neither have I been to the mercure hida takayama. Looking at the pics though they seem to be equal in attractiveness. I can absolutely imagine that the mercure has a better executive lounge offering. I also think that Nara has more tourists that takayama. But these 2 places are so far from each other may I ask how come you are deciding between the 2? Or did you mean the grand Mercure Nara Kashihara?
