I had one and i was finishing restoring it , but sold it. I kick myself every time i think of it. Mine had the T-10 Toploader 4 speed though. Mine was white with red interior. Of the dozens of old muscle cars i have owned, i miss this one the most. This is a beauty!
It could not have had a T-10 toploader. Those are two different transmissions. The T-10 was made by Borg Warner and used until February 1964 when ford released there famous bullet proof toploader 4 speed.I have two 64 XLs. Unfortunately my nice red hardtop was built the first day of production and has the weaker T-10 but my convertible XL has the toploader.
I had one of these I loved. I don’t know which code it was but it was factory 390 4 bbl with automatic. Raven black with salmon interior. Beautiful car. Bought it from a fellow in an old folks home. Near mint condition with lower steering and air conditioning. Rear bumper was all it needed.
Beautiful example here dude. Damn I wish I had the money! Just to say, our family car from '77 to '83 was a Galaxie 500 Country Sedan, I think it was a '63.. also in white, with that electric blue interior, bench seat and automatic gearbox. My father was the proud owner, and I as a teenager, have many special memories.. It was a sad day when dad felt the need to sell it.. I have those memories when the car had to be trailered away (electrical faults)and watching it go I lost sight as it turned into a bend... never to be seen again.
Ford never used gaskets on any of their engines exhaust manifolds. These FE engines the exhaust manifolds warp and they start to leak… They are machined from the factory, the cylinder heads and the exhaust manifolds. I had a 390ci 300hp Z code engine in my 1964 T-Bird and I remachined both exhaust manifolds and the exhaust port sides of the heads and everyone at the car shows couldn’t believe I didn’t use gaskets and it was so quiet and no leaks… I worked in a real machine shop not an automotive machine shop and I had to cut off about .090 of an inch they were warped that bad…
It's called a tease fellas. You are going to go nuts to find out how much they are asking for the car and when you finally, maybe, get to talk to whoever is selling it you will get a $40-50K price. But you can get him down a little bit and you can buy it on credit for at least half down. You know since it is such a valuable car. What a line of bullshit. The car looks really cherry though.
Here’s a tip for selling this car bro I’m gonna help you out here, don’t tell anybody how much you’re asking keep it a secret this way no one will know and when they come down to look at it they’ll just give you however much you ask so don’t tell anybody how much you’re asking you’re all the same deplorable you use car guys are the biggest scam in lying people on the planet that’s a fact you should be a lawyer dude

When this 64 come out I didn't like the looks but after that I started liking it very much. It's a unique one of a kind style.
My first car was a 64 Galaxie I bought for $ 50 and drove it home in 1976. Only the 352 , but only $50 !
