G.K. Chesterton and C.S. Lewis are two of the most prolific authors in the world of Christian literature and Classical Education. But do they belong, and would they agree with what classical liberal arts education has become? "Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed." I haven't read much of Chesterton, so I can't comment on my favorite book by him, but this quote is my favorite.
"Men do not long continue to think what they have forgotten how to say." Now, from Lewis, I have 24 of his books (Brazil launched a special edition of them that are just beautiful), and I can't really choose yet which one is my favorite, but that quote about words just kills me everytime. Specially as someone who is in love with my vernacular language and with language in general, this quote changed something in me when I read it.
And as someone who is in love with classical education, I highly recommend to you the modern day Brazilian philosopher Olavo de Carvalho. I don't know how much of his work is translated into English, but anything you guys can put you hands on from him, is a must read. Even if he says something you don't agree with, he will give room to think and develop the reasons as to why you don't agree with it. He alone was responsible for open up the door to traditional ideas here in Brazil. We were an intellectual enslave people, and he kicked the door open for us to be free. And as a Brazilian, unfortunately I can see many of the mistakes that were once unique to Brazil getting stronger by the day in the rest of the world. Particularly in the US. So, if you can read Olavo, you most definitely should.

Please make your wisdom and insights accessible to people who have not had your specific classical education, if you want to really make an impact on pedagogy. Otherwise your dialogue is almost elitism, where theory, philosophy, ideology are not meant for mere mortals. As a result this very important topic, as well as your insightful observations, have no chance to change the world.
