I'm guessing that Cosworth offers a variety of displays to the teams? I saw that the "flag lights" ( the LEDs on both sides of the screen) were positioned either vertically or in a triangle shape depending on the wheel.
What does the position panel show when push to pass is activated? Also is the X for when the engine cuts off, or for anytime a car goes off track? I noticed it allot at St. Pete. BTW: That was a good effect you did with your avatar on the panel. The only thing that gave it away is you forgot the hole in the center where that bar for the crane goes.😉
I never knew about the “push to pass/overtake” button. That is so interesting. It is also pretty cool that it adds a bit of boost momentarily whenever it is pushed. However, if an Indy or F1 driver is about to be passed, can they not push there own “push to pass/overtake” button as well??? Which in turnwould make it more difficult for the car behind them to pass and take the higher position??? Or is that not allowed??? Thanks in advance to anyone who answers my questions.
Particularly cool about the steering wheel -- love it. Seeing stuff like this makes me want to see another chassis manufacturer. Of course at least 1 more engine oem is priority, but how damn cool would it be to see dallara vs panoz or Reynard or some other company that wants to get into the best open wheel competition around?
Great video Marshall! This the kind of info that is bringing back the good old days. Indycar is making a comeback!!
We just need the engine sound back and we are pretty much there.
more power! crank up the boost!
These 2018 tech vids are fantastic!

why aren't we seeing the on board displays at the Indy 500 in 2018
Why do Scott Dixon still with a sterring wheel from the 80's?
Probably because that's what he's comfortable with.
I wonder if Indy cars will ever get power steering
I like the older days when they had to actually drive and shift with your hands and feet
