Best presentation I have heard about the great Dan Gurney ever. You covered everything. There will never be another. Those were the days of men controlling their cars. Unlike today . Nothing I can add ,again you covered him like no other , thank you ❗️🇺🇸

Dan Gurney was one of a kind. My God the beauty of his crafted designs. His F1 winner and 1981 Indy car the best ever. One Hell Of A Man ! God Bless Mr. Gurney. Thanks Marshall such a great job on your part.!

Dan Gurney was probably the most innovative racing driver. And what a great music in the background, my two favourite composers!

As a boy, Dan Gurney was my hero...the American driver who could drive anything, anywhere, anytime, and be at or near the top. But, his legacy will be these masterpieces of American ingenuity....if AAR were a band, they'd be that band that was always growing, changing its sound, looking for the new sound, not resting on its laurels. Great piece by Marshall Pruett, very heartfelt but not a love letter, honest to point out the few misses that were far outweighed by the successes. Thank you for the trip.

Thank you Marshall for the tour and lecture on Dan's cars. He was an amazing man and my hero. He has left his mark on the world of motorsports that none can equal. We will miss him but his legend will live on.

I've seen Dan Gurney on her car at GP France at Reims in 1966. Before the race I've seen the car in a garage on the road near the circuit. I took a picture that I've somewhere. Great.

This was incredible Mr. Pruett! Thank you so much for giving us a glimpse into one of the best teams in racing history. I was fortunate enough to get an autographed card from Mr. Gurney before it was announced that no more requests were being received due to there already being a large number of them :) .

Gurney/Weslake Eagle F1 is the single most beautiful car to ever compete in F1. It's sad to think of that car without Gurney around to drive it, but at least his legacy lives on in these machines.

I saw this car at the Briggs Cunningham Museum back in the mid 70’s when it was going through a restoration. The exhaust pipes are sand filled, hand bent with a torch, one piece of titanium, all 12 of them. Beautiful pieces of art. I’m talking about Dans F-1 car.

Dan Gurney had a great interest in motorcycles and was an accomplished rider, not surprisingly! In 1995 I saw him at Daytona Int'l Speedway, where he was examining John Britten's highly innovative V1000 racebike. Dan spent a long time looking at its unique features and extensive use of carbon fiber. His own Alligator's unusual rider positioning stemmed largely from the very tall Gurney's discomfort when riding conventional machines and the adverse effects of his weight on handling.
In 2018 I was riding in a group with four-time 500cc GP World Champion Eddie Lawson along the backroads of Monterey county. Eddie was aboard his own Gurney Gator, exactly like the one shown here.

Extremely well done! Too much information for one viewing for me, so I'm going to break it up into three parts. I don't want to miss a single minute.
I used to go down to that shop for help with various motorcycle road racing parts I was having problems with. They would fix me up, lickety split, and I always noticed many strange and unusual things going on. I used to peek inside the "oven" in the courtyard to see what part was cooking for the Toyota GTP. I always had a good feeling about that place. Very special, indeed!

Seeing this as of 12-1-2020, it's a good production by Robin Miller's " best buddy", Marshall. Very informative for racing fans who love the "classics" of Indy legend and other racing styles.
Dan Gurney was a very good driver, designer. One of my all-time favorites: the 1975 Indy Eagle. Loved also the 1969 model. The 1971 model was also a top favorite model of Indy cars I like.
Yeah...the live piano music...ummm, has got to go but...too late. This was made in 2018. Anyway...this is great to watch from a true knowledgeable pro in especially Indy cars.

Oh...and another thing. This is about the famous number: "48". I read somewhere in the last couple or three years that Dan used the number "48" is after Dan's favorite NFL football player for, I think, the L.A. Rams. Correct me if I am wrong.

Did you get a chance to go into the vault Mr. Pruett? I did the vault tour last time I was there, they have a couple other GTP Toyotas down there with the backs off and you can see the ground effect tunnels.

F-1 car looks like the shark nose Ferrari that Phil Hill won a championship in. I saw the 'cuda at Lime Rock when I was 10. Sam Posey, Mark Donahue, and Parnelli Jones were there too. The Boss 302 Mustang of Jones won.

I can see how a couple of these inspired Ben Bowlby a few years ago. The boxy body with through-flow aero and hidden front wing on the GTP car must have directly inspired the Nissan LMP1 design, while the BLAP bodyside tunnels on the yellow freakmobile can also be seen on the don't-tell-Panoz ZEOD RC. Just goes to show that those two projects surely flopped because of the execution rather than the fundamental ideas, some of which were proven to work decades earlier by AAR.
