Great Vid and a great day! You do such a good job helping the newbs and teaching the little things. Waders: we did disagree about them but I'm old and get too cold these days. Mine are from duck hunting and are a thicker 3mil neoprene, I wear a top belt too in case of a fall. I never go beyond my knees and never turn my back on the waves!! I went to the pier Wed and got a skunk! Any idea what time they kick you out of the parking lot?

Can you please easily leave a few in the ice chest on my front porch? I used to have a neighbor that was a lobster fisherman in SoCal that did that for me, but man I wish it could have been Dungeness.
I just began to do surf crabbing. A big problem for me is that my snare always got pulled up to right and often pushed to the very shallow water (almost can be seen). I kept walking to right and cast again, but it didn't help. I know I probably need to read to the beach structure to find a trough. But it is just hard to find without a drone.
Either not enough weight for the conditions or the wrong kind of weight. Try to get some of the sputnik style weights with the collapsible wire stakes - which usually dig in well enough that you can do 2oz less the normal, but in almost all bayarea scenarios you're gonna need atleast a 4oz pyramid, *minimum*.
I live and crab at ocean beach too. I can’t find your buddies IG under that name though. Would love to try out those snares.

Heavier weight. Like 6 to 8oz weight plus the bait. One anchovie and the rest squid.

With a 2 rod stamp can you have two rods setup with snares? Or is it limited to just one?
The second rod stamp only applies to freshwater. For crabbing on the beach it's as many rods as you can reasonably attend to, which in most cases is 2.

Northern California, San Francisco area. Outside of the Golden Gate.
No significant amount of dungeness south of Pt Conception.
