Thanks for the update Kate and even more for your openness and positive attitude towards a health issue that affects so many and seems to come out of nowhere for people we know every single day. Stay well and keep smiling, you folks are two wonderful people! - Bob (Toronto, Canada)
It's great to be able to watch you guys head into your riding season as we head into our winter, and historically I'm not good at riding through winter - but watching you ride through YOUR winter is my inspiration to try to get better.
Top performance getting to Windsor, and not the best weather with that wind. Its a great place and a shame you couldn't have a bun. But hey ho, it's plenty of miles in the legs. Yes Ali G, what a laugh. I live about 4 miles from there. Absolutely fantastic what you are doing for Breast Cancer, and I'll whack a donation on for you after I've typed this. Kudos to you. Hope Isaac gets his knee sorted. It's tough staying off of the bike I know, but you can't rush it, otherwise you are back to square one. Good luck to you both...
Fair play to you with your riding efforts and fund raising. My mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister all had breast cancer so the gene runs through the family. Because of this both my daughter's will be on an enhanced screening program. Also, one of our closet friends had a double mastectomy at 48 so it's an insidious disease that is very much in our minds. I'm more than happy to sponsor you for such a great cause and the effort you are putting in. P.s. Love 8008.5 - it was such a simple time back in the day when all we had for fun was a calculator. 😅
Thank you so much for your message and incredibly kind donation, I’m blown away. So so sorry to hear your family have been impacted - couldn’t agree more with the word insidious. The charity that I’m raising for funds phd students who are trying to find a cure for secondary breast cancer so the impact of donating feels so direct. Thank you so much again.
No worries. It’s a great cause. As an fyi I work in Med Tech and am currently working on very fine needle high frequency microwave ablation technology. One area of application is in primary and secondary breast tumours. The aim is a safe and effective treatment to try and reduce the need for invasive and traumatic surgery.
