i've only seen it in let's plays but the renegade version (sabotage) is even more impactful. Mordin's VA really gets me when he goes, "I MADE A MISTAKE!". For Mordin to admit that at the end of all things...
Think of the implications. The tale of "the good salarian" will be taught to krogan children and school trips will be arranged to the monument of Mordin. His entire life was regret for his actions and in those last moments you could see the weight of his actions lifting from his soul with that little smile he had on his face. If there is one hero in this story, it's Mordin. Had to be him. Someone else mightve gotten it wrong.
@basicwitgirl his death was PERFECT for him. Dont feel sad. He died a proper fucking hero. He was also elderly by Salarian standards and you just KNOW that Mordin is going to be as popular as Shepard in terms of Krogan baby names. Everyone is gonna want their kid named after heroes.
@basicwitgirl incidentally, there IS a way for Mordin to join the catalyst project instead but you've gotta be a double crossing bitch for that! Or you could be super evil and shoot Mordin in the back for the the Dalatrass. I don't think I've ever seen that happen in ANY playthrough!
@@basicwitgirlPriority: Tuchanka is never an easy mission. If it helps, you saved yourself even more heartache. If you hadn't saved Maelon's data (a decision that was decided by the 20D, if I recall) Eve would have succumbed to illness and die immediately after the genophage is cured.
Priority: Tuchanka is probably the best mission in the entire trilogy for many reasons, imho. Ps: Mordin can live but you have to make many different choices in all games.
@@supergirlvideoclips894 yep, but i played the entire trilogy only to see this... I could have done some tests on the shells but I preferred this one, someone else might have gotten it wrong!

I’ve done Priority: Tuchanka countless times at this point. Always so sad. But I’m a sympathy crier so seeing you cry made me cry worse than when I originally played it!!
I need to remember the term "sympathy crier" because I've never known how to describe it and that's perfect because I'm the same way lol. Other people's emotions just fill me with emotion 😂
As I've said multiple times... Fave mission from the whole trilogy, even if Kaidan's no present (I'm a weak girl and our canadian bf makes everything instantly better 😂❤). The genophage is a big thing from ME1 (with that argument with Wrex and the fact the Saren has found a way to cure it) and then with Maelon's data in ME2... I'd have been disappointed if they had done nothing with it all. And then it's just so emotional.... The idea of the turians and Mordin helping to right something thei ancestors made possible, Eve's discourse, Wrex calling Shepard sister and saying how every Krogan will know her as a hero, the music, Wrex and Eve's reactions and Eve telling you her name, which is a big deal... And, of course, Mordin's death (the seashell reference, him singing to himself to ease the nerves...) A masterpiece if you ask me. Anyway, even though it's very sad, I think it's a great death for him, as he dies a heroe and savior of a whole species. There's an option to save him, but I have never seen people do it and I think it's one of the worst decissions possible and one that would probably make Mordin himself really ashamed and disappointed in Shepard... Anyway! Knowing what's coming in the next episode, I couldn't be more excited 🎉🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂😂 As always, thanks for sharing, basic ❤❤

Kalros taking down the reaper is a "Hell yeah!" moment but Mordin's sacrifice immediately after is such emotional whiplash 😭 The tone of the mission is very different when Wrex is dead and Wreav is the Urdnot ruler, though. It makes a lot of people consider the offer from the Dalatrass. I didn't say anything then due to spoilers, but I breathed a sigh of relief when the dice decided to save Maelon's data in ME2! it'll be hilarious to see Basic do it last. I think she just simply forgot it's a priority. I'm actually curious to see her reaction. She'd be like WTH?
One of the best parts of the game, calling the Thresher Maw and watching it take down a reaper, so cool. Loving the entire ME play-through, one of the most entertaining I’ve watched, it’ll be sad once it’s over, wonder if she’s going to play Andromeda…
I've played this series at least 5 times and watched countless people play it on youtube and never heard that dialogue...crazy how theres still stuff I've never heard. No idea what triggered that.
I've seen this happen once or twice. I think it happens when you don't talk to your team "enough" up to certain points in the story (I'm not saying that Basic didn't talk to them at all, just probably not enough in terms of the programming of the game - which would be at least after every main mission and additionally several side missions). Then Shep and the team are not on super friendly terms and don't know enough about each other to make different comments. I'm glad though that this Playthrough has differences to most other - keeps things fresh and interesting - I'm all for it. ❤
I’ve seen some varying lines from Lucyjrobyn’s videos too. Like the cutscene just after Priority: Mars and talking to Hackett. Telling Liara your doubts about the Crucible, and most other times she’ll say “Shepard? Isn’t it worth trying, at least?”. On Lucy’s playthrough Liara was a bit more formal and addressed Shepard as “Commander” On a different instance, also on Lucy’s playthrough, Omega DLC. Near the end right before Nyreen’s death. When Aria tells her to go ahead and lead the assault. Nyreen will then say “sure, but don’t expect me to build you a memorial if you die”. Most other times I’ve seen, Aria will respond flirtatiously with “I like it when you’re feisty”. On Lucy’s video, she was just curt and said “Don’t count on it.” I have zero idea what causes the difference, I can’t find anything about it online.
@@MillyDel The lines in the Omega DLC are due to Shepards Paragon/Renegade dialogue choices with Aria (and possibley Nyreen) I believe. If Shep leans more towards Paragon, Aria softens up a fair bit, but if Shep is more Renegade, Aria remains hardened towards Nyreen. I've experienced both in my own playthroughs and have seen both outcomes in different LPs. How Liara comes to have those "colder" lines... I don't really know. I could imagine that it is an accumulation of how Shep treats her throughout all three games and whether there might be a (broken off) romance involved somehow. 🤷🏼
@@basicwitgirlHow do you expect cookies to have survived when Kalros the mother of all Thresher Maws is around? She's hungry and certainly loves cookies too! 🤪
the 2 turians near purgatory bar that work for c-sec were talking about that con man. Authorizing his deportation stops him from preying on the people there.
Wow, Basic - epic. I'd forgotten how amazing the genophage mission was. At least you had Wrex with you, which adds a lot to it. We managed to lose him on Virmire in ME1 - thanks to Ashley!
Oh Mordin... such a good soul. You died a liar, and a damn good one. You knew that what you did was wrong, that before you, the Genophage as a whole was wrong, you're just too perfect of a scientist Salarian to admit it... Actions do speak louder than words, and yours will speak volumes across generations, my friend... 🫡 keelah se'lai.
Ughhh this is why I rarely play through ME3. It makes me so sad. I'm sobbing at my desk over the seashells broooo 😭 THE SINGING, BROOOO 😭😭 Edit: hold on, I forgot THAT IT ASKS IF YOU MISS *ASHLEY*??? BioWare stop, let me mourn my favourite salarian friend
The first lesson you learn in the trilogy, with Jenkins' death, is that no matter how GOOD you are, whether morally or in capability, you CANNOT save everyone... this is the game that reinforces that reality.
@basicwitgirl priority Tuchunka... oof. Yeah, this was a Kaiden-Light episode. Definitely need a hug after this episode. Ok, here goes the official/unofficial Kaiden count: Kaiden: 4 Bf: 2 Babe: 0 Basique will need to hug Kaiden for a while, I think... or have some wine and then hug him.. 😢😢😢 On to the next episode!
Mordin 01:35:35 .. Mordin found peace, he was involved in the genocide and managed to make amends ⚡⚡🔥 ... but there are other endings at this point that are even more tear-jerking ... without tishues I had to wash the tears from my face every now and then, the game is epic and yes, in my 6th playthrough Shep sh.... him in the back .. and he crawl to the console .. greetings from Germany
I'm Commander Everybody, and this is my favourite sniper rifle on the Citadel. "Hard to imagine a General like that getting so upset about a woman." ~ Kaidan Alenko, famous for not sulking about a woman for 50% of the trilogy. Oh. Wait. This just in...... The Asari in the hospital is a great little NPC background story, provided you like sorrow, the horrors of war, severe PTSD and a smidge of horror. "That's too sad. I'm going to the Normandy. I'mna go cure the genophage."/"This was just supoosed to be like a fun, little 'Cure the genophage'..." Is that your epitaph you're writing there? I know you're concerned about the weight of the Widow, but it is the best sniper in the game. Just remember to upgrade the basic frame, as well as to get those high end mods. "Oh my god, missed again. Lemme go invisible." You can't hide from the shame like that, Basic. That Salarian Dalatrass is like....a hidden boss in this game. Horrific piece of work. Eve: "Who will join me?" "I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!!!!" ~ all of us. "Did You lose Kalros, or am I gonna have to kill Kalros?" No. Shep: "Let's make sure we all get outta here alive." Everybody who's played the game before: Ummm. Mordin "Would have liked to run tests on the seashells." And like that, a million hearts trembled. "Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong." And then they broke.
it was almost harder watching today!! the gut wrenching KNOW of what was about to happen vs it just coming almost outta nowhere when I played the mission
Tbh in my first playthrough of me3, my save from me1 had Wrex dead and with Wreav leading the korgan, even with Eve by his side to control him little bit, I had to stop Mordin from curing the genophage so the Krogans wouldn't start taking revenge for it. That renegade button sometimes haunt me. But it was kinda fun😀
You would have to be heartless not to feel after this mission, dang Bioware! Go get yourself a sniper you are comfortable with basicwithgirl! Nevermind us noisy folk in chat!
You can make the Black Widow lighter by upgrading it at one of the consoles in the armory on the Normandy in the hanger bay (at least you can in the regular games I haven’t played the Legendary edition yet). It also increases the damage!
Well Basicwitgirl the Mordin scene is one of the hardest things Shepard goes through, but keep your head up there is more to see and emotions will pushed. This was a different episode not the usual upbeat but for obvious reasons solemn. I hope you rested before jumping back into ME3. As for the reaper in Tuchanka, am pretty sure he was singing "take me higher" after Kalros dragged it to bottom of know where, 😂. Take care and God Bless.
It's hard to explain what it is about Mordin that captured so many hearts. In ME2 I always thought his inclusion in the game starts off really... weak. Yes he's brilliant and yes he needed to develop a counter0measure to the seeker swarms, but we never really got a sense for why, or how he was even able to do that. The initial writing was weak, until it got to the Genophage. Then it picks up big time, and between his loyalty mission and talking with him afterward, all of a sudden you just want him to cure the Genophage like he so obviously wants to. You want him to succeed and a whole game's worth of lore-building has made you intimately invested in it. It's probably no argument that the Genophage storyline got the best payoff in ME3, after hearing about it and naturally forming opinions about it throughout the three games. There are things that come close, but when ME4 eventually comes along the Krogan better be a big part of it. You just don't have Mass Effect without them.

One of the best parts of the game, calling the Thresher Maw and watching it take down a reaper, so cool. Loving the entire ME play-through, one of the most entertaining I’ve watched, it’ll be sad once it’s over, wonder if she’s going to play Andromeda…
I'm so glad you are enjoying!! I'll be sad when it's over as well😭 definitely be playing Andromeda!
I am not ready for this…
3:30 Wow... I've never heard Shepard be so rude to Traynor before. 😮 I wonder what caused that?
I've played this series at least 5 times and watched countless people play it on youtube and never heard that dialogue...crazy how theres still stuff I've never heard. No idea what triggered that.
I have no idea!!
On Lucy’s playthrough Liara was a bit more formal and addressed Shepard as “Commander”
On a different instance, also on Lucy’s playthrough, Omega DLC.
"It's been abandoned for centuries, is there even any loot here?" Maybe a very old package of cookies? Worth a look.
not even a package of cookies!!
OH THAT'S WHAT THE PROMPT WAS ABOUT!!
Told you to bring tissues........RIP Mordin you were a model salarian scientist.
Well, people, considering Basic's attention to side quests, who's extinction will we witness? Quarians or geth? Place your bets!
@ 17:02 yesss thank you 4 drinks 🤣 ... btw. if you take another 4 drinks then Shep will wake up in the lift nearby 😂
Wow, Basic - epic. I'd forgotten how amazing the genophage mission was. At least you had Wrex with you, which adds a lot to it. We managed to lose him on Virmire in ME1 - thanks to Ashley!
ASHLEY HOW COULD YOU...
No one is same person after experiencing priority:Tutchanka
Can’t wait for this!!!
Thank you baby Jesus !!! I’m calling off PETA Patrol Ships. 😂
Squeek
squeak!
This game story is the best for me
Oh Mordin... such a good soul.
I'm sobbing at my desk over the seashells broooo 😭 THE SINGING, BROOOO 😭😭
Edit: hold on, I forgot THAT IT ASKS IF YOU MISS *ASHLEY*??? BioWare stop, let me mourn my favourite salarian friend
The first lesson you learn in the trilogy, with Jenkins' death, is that no matter how GOOD you are, whether morally or in capability, you CANNOT save everyone... this is the game that reinforces that reality.
RIP to all those players who lost Mordin in the Suicide Mission...
"Video games are not real, they can't hurt you."
Video games:
VIDEO GAMES HAVE HURT ME MORE THAN ANY MAN EVER HAS😭
@@basicwitgirl I can believe that
@basicwitgirl priority Tuchunka... oof. Yeah, this was a Kaiden-Light episode. Definitely need a hug after this episode. Ok, here goes the official/unofficial Kaiden count:
Kaiden: 4
Bf: 2
Babe: 0
Basique will need to hug Kaiden for a while, I think... or have some wine and then hug him.. 😢😢😢
On to the next episode!
Oh man…waterworks incoming!
Mordin only changed his ind due to reaper invasion.
He was a good friend.
And Mordin goes out like a Boss!😢
and our hearts all broke in unison 😭
Yeah! action, death, sobbing, ugly crying... im in! ♥
and we all trauma bonded in the chat!
I cry literally every time…
I'm Commander Everybody, and this is my favourite sniper rifle on the Citadel.
Eve: "Who will join me?"
"I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!!!!" ~ all of us.
"Did You lose Kalros, or am I gonna have to kill Kalros?" No.
Shep: "Let's make sure we all get outta here alive."
Everybody who's played the game before: Ummm.
Mordin "Would have liked to run tests on the seashells." And like that, a million hearts trembled.
"Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong." And then they broke.
Well TECHNICALLY, Kaidan is just a Major and therefore is allowed to sulk for the woman love of his life !
Great Playthrough 👍👍
Yeah I cried too when he died the first time I played this as well. 😢 Over a decade later and I still get depressed whenever I reply the game.
it was almost harder watching today!! the gut wrenching KNOW of what was about to happen vs it just coming almost outta nowhere when I played the mission
In retrospect, I don't think the devs gave us enough time to grieve.
Is any amount of time really enough??
Right in the feels.
If you kill Wrex on Vermire you can save Mordin during this mission. But it requires you to be hard...
This is my favorite first time watching your videos ❤️
Take care and God Bless.
truly, we all trauma bond over this, huh??
@@basicwitgirl yes ma’am we all are trauma bonded!!
You just don't have Mass Effect without them.
so beautifully said😭
How well-written is a game to make you feel like that for one of the crew .....
The dream is a ptsd dream
Well, what i can say - prepare yourself, cuz more characters will die...
And one will die pretty soon...
It's nice to see you're actually human, girlie. You can't be a joke machine all the time.
When the game is so sad you can't even cope with humor 😭
Ultralight materials mod....for sniper rifles. TADA!!!! Buy at a shop if you don't have it. Or buy it on the Normandy on the shuttle bay deck
trying to not spoil anything, but i am pretty sure priority missions will lock certain missions away.
wrex and the rachni are still available!
Go to Eden Prime as fast as you can
I cried too a lot!
it hurt even more watching it back😭
Whose cutting onions in here!!! 😭🤧😭
