This album is great! I love how seamless this project flows from track to track, and the environmental feel I get from a sound design perspective is spot-on. The Wolf, The Sheep & The Door is easily my favorite track on here. I know I have a habit of picking the longest track as either my absolute favorite or one of my favorites from any given project, but I genuinely mean it when I say that this is the best track on here in my opinion. It feels like so much is going on and its length is pretty much well-justified. R.I.P. Mira Calix. It’s such a shame I haven’t heard of her or listened to her music soon enough. She will be missed.
Rip to her; so underrated. I loved her last ep, Utopia and I was unaware she dropped an album at the end of last year which I listened to recently and it blew my mind. Very creative production
I only heard One on One, and that was a couple years ago, but I remember loving it as a traditional kind of IDM album. I wish I had more of an emotional connection especially now. She's been on my to-do list for too long now, I might fix that this week. RIP
Just finished through One on One, the Prickle EP, and Skimskitta, and they're all really really good. One on One is really out there in terms of sound, Prickle was the most consistent and had the best continuous flow, and Skimskitta had the best control of its mood. Not sure which of those three is my favorite. Since her sound is experimental, it really feels like there's a lot to pick up with these albums!
