greatest band i have ever seen no body can´t beat them and i saw rolling stones, ac/dc and many more rock bands but this is the greatest bands we ever had
what a f**kin' artist !!! every time he come in Italy i'll be there, what energy !!!! he save my life when i was 15/16 .... you-bruce fan know me ......
My first Bruce show as well. Paid $85 for a 9th row seat. Changed my musical life. I became a HUGE fan. Just saw him again this past Sun and Mon in Boston. It never gets old....
I was at this show! I must confess by the time he sang this song, I was beat. It was REALLY hot and the show was really long...I was spent as I continued to dance and clap and sing...blaaa! Good times!
The recent shows have been so great it's easy to forget how great the Born in the USA were. I saw 10 and they were the Greatest Show on Earth. He's still putting on the greatest show on earth, the greatest rock n' roll that there has ever been, or is ever likely to be.
Proof if there was ever any further proof needed that Springsteen is the greatest live performer of all time. The man is absolutely incomparable both as a songwriter and live performer.
Great show - I was there this night or the next on the field. Temps that day were in the high 90's and they ran out of soda and beer. They must have hijacked a tractor trailor full of soda cans because they started selling the soda right out of the cans - unheard of at any live event even in the 80's. My daugher was born the next month and her mother and I were both there. I guess that was her first concert. I got her back again this year 2012 to see her in Philly. Another great show.
Aw....RIP Phantom Danny. Miss that guy so much...This is wonderful. What a bunch of goofballs. I couldn't help but smile through the whole thing. Thanks for posting.
I love this man!!!! I was at this show....15 years old and I was only a few rows from the stage in the center -- WHAT I WOULDN'T DO to have this night back!?!?!?
I've just watched the film of the making of Darkness on The Edge of Town album. Bruce and Steve perform this song on piano and pillow with Steve belting out the rhythm. At the end The Boss declares that to be the one and only time that he will perform the song! Thank the lord he changed his mind!!!
WOW! This was my first show also. I was dragged kicking and screaming. $18.50 for a seat! That was a lot for an 18 year old back 22 years ago. Great show. I got on the Bruce bandwagon at that show and have never got off. By god was it hot! It was over 100 degrees during the day, and prolly around 90 during the show with 100% humidity.
WHAT CAN I SAY!!!!! WOWOWOWEEEE!!!! THIS IS WHY I BOUGHT MY FIRST SAX, THE DAY AFTER I SAW BRUCE LIVE AT THE HAMMERSNITH ODEON IN LONDON, ON THE BORN TO RUN TOUR. ONE DAY I SHALL PLAY THIS LIVE WITH BRUCE- LIFETIME AMBITION!!!!! GO BRUUUUUUUUUUUUCCEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was at this show. The temperature was literally over 100 degrees all day with 100% humidity. This show was played at the old Veterans Stadium which was literally a concrete bowl, there was no air flow whatsoever. All I remember was sweating my ass off the entire show. At one point Bruce shouted that he needed some air conditioning and starting with the next stop on the tour, the stage was rigged so it was air condioned as cold air would be blown up from the floor.
Should their be any further proof as to who is the greatest performer of all time, then this video just confirms it for me. Springsteen is unequaled as a songwriter and live performer. The man is a genius and is in a class of his own.
I think veteran's stadium in august, even at night, was one of the hottest places on earth. the surface was green cement and it trapped heat like no other structure in the world.
I'm not so sure about his energy being as diminished as you suggest. I've seen multiple shows on every tour, beginning with 3 on the 1978 Darkness tour, and including 10 Born in the USA shows. I saw five on the recently completed Magic tour and I don't think I've ever seen more intense rock & roll by anyone, including Bruce Springsteen, then at those shows. The Magic shows were shorter- 2:30+ compared to 3:30+ in 85-86, but he took a 20 break during the BitUSA shows, & told many more stories.
August 14th or 15th 1985 philadelphia veterans stadium .I was at one of the 2 shows .can't remember .first time I ever saw him been to 28 bruce shows now in my opinion greatest live entertainer ever
I agree with you Irush, 100 percent. I can't stand the way Bruce sing. He sings like he trying tooooo hard. Just too overrated singer and songwriter. He sing like a country singer.

@@SUNMAYDEN518 I was 29 and I was exactly the same. I'm Australian and compared the Bruce show to the hardest game of Aussie Rules I ever played!
