As an Italian I can tell you that the words are not pronounced very correctly but, considering the age she was when she sang this aria, she gave a fantastic and very in tune performance. I got goosebumps listening to it.

OMG!!..I'm sitting here watching, stunned & marvelling at the beauty sincerity & unabashed joy in the rendering of this aria by this tiny angel. What ability..(an old soul indeed!) Nearly in tears. Exquisite!! the voice of a cherub. My late mother was an operatic soprano and Mobil sponsored aria quest entrant for music for the people back in melbourne in the late 40's early (50's) I think she may have sung this work from Puccini at least once in her singing days. Possibly the most dramatic and beautiful of Puccini's works? Maria Callas is well known for her interpretation of this aria around the world too of course!

I have watched and listened to this child and her angelic voice at least 4 or 5 times a day since this was first broadcast. I wish we could see the translation. But not really necessary, her beautiful facial expressions explain clearly. May God keep her, and her voice as angelic in the future when she becomes famous, as she is now. ♥

However, I will say that the parents were mainly concerned about the slimness of her teeth, but the fact is that she has lumenophobia, a fear of bright lights, and there is a need to correct this by eating more carrots and fresh carrot juice so that all works are saturated with unique facial expressions and body movements inherent in Amira. She also practiced a lot and probably taught herself how to properly manage her breathing. She wasn't perfect, but for a 9 year old with no formal training, she was just magnificent!
