Because Astro is one of the most beloved PlayStation franchises that always deliver quality over quantity and is actually genuinely fun to play, games where you can just relax, sit back and enjoy and not having to think about anything else
I view Astro as the only real video game on PS5. Astro bot is at least respectable compared to the schlock on PS5. It's the only game that I would say... Would justify the purchase of a PS5 if it didn't have such a bad selection of games that makes the 32X or Sega CD look good in comparison.
@@connormclernon26 100% agreed. Realism will only look realistic for so long. I also think we've reached a point where they can't get much better so now all realistic games look largely the same

Astro Bot is like the one game I am absolutely disappointed I'd need a PS5 to play. I really hope this game succeeds and encourages Sony to experiment more with new IPs and genres. I think they became a little too dependent on the big annual release with cinematic graphics and massive narratives; it'd be nice to have something more relaxed and fun like this.
True, though to be fair, the fact it requires being a PS5 exclusive because it makes good use of the controller's quirks and capabilities is entirely justifiable, and a good way to make it a console exclusive, because all of these quirks are used in different mechanics that spice up the gameplay (and not for silly, dumb minor things)
@@danielsmid3777 I'm sure Rift Apart is great, but I don't need a PS5 to play it now, since it came to PC recently. Though I am glad it exists for the sake of more diversity in Sony's line up of games, just like with Astro Bot
I think Astro's Conquest would have been a great title for the game Regarding Concord, it just screams corporate mandate project and committee/focus group orientated design That is the vibes I am getting from it so far
Astro's Conquest would be great, it works well with the idea of him having to go out into so many different worlds to save the other Bots And yeah I agree, it feels like Sony have a requirement to make a large budget online game every few years and this is the result of that
That sounds like such a cool title, hot damn. I do think it's kinda weird that the game is just gonna be called "Astro Bot" too, it's a bit bland and simplistic for what's like, the third game in this series, and they both had variations on the title, being "Main Character's Name: The thing you'll be doing in the game", and "Shortened Name's Main Setpiece". As for Concord, I might've taken the blandness if it meant exploring the galaxy, flying your ship with your team, landing on planets and cities to explore them or doing odd-jobs and smuggling goods to other cities. Maybe even fight against members of an empire or outrun military forces in a dystopian setting. But no. It's a game of a genre I have no interest in, so the whole game was completely forgotten from my mind.
Yeah. Companies when they see something gaining success, they don't realise that that's because gamers needed/wanted that. In times of realistic shooters people want to play something more arcade-like, in times of TES inspired RPG people want to take a time by playing something turn-based, etc. When Overwatch became succesful- it was because that was still a unique fresh game full of new experienses, but now people are tired of it- they need something else. But companies would rather keep doing 5vs5 Moba shooter instead of trying to come up with younger brothers of BG3
@@matheuscabral9618 Yes, one of the few companies who still does high quality 3D platformers, that’s why I said it was “quite uncommon” not “entirely missing”
The green guy in concord just looks like Walmart Yondu & Starlord from guardians of the galaxy lol. Like a guy combined both those characters for that green guy design lol.
I recall Sony saying earlier this year that there weren't going to be any big PlayStation exclusives for 2024, which is why Astro Bot was a big and welcoming surprise.
When I first saw Concord's cinematic trailer, I first thought it was going to be an open world Guardians of the Galaxy wannabe, which kind of made me intrigued. Then gameplay dropped and my face did as well, how could I forget this was one of the live service games that Jim Ryan insisted in creating? Firewalk deserved to make a better game. I'm just not convinced this will blow up in popularity like Helldivers 2, a game which also didn't expect much of when first presented, the community is passionate for HD2, but I cannot say the same thing to Concord. Astro Bot made me straight up smile, of all things in this presentation, I never expected Team Asobi to drop their first large scale project. I'm bummed that I now have reasons to pick up a PS5 with Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Returnal, Spider-Man 2 and now Astro Bot, I did pick up Horizon Forbidden West and I was on my way to do the same for GoW Ragnarok and Sackboy (if only my lack of money wasn't an issue), but all of them on PS4, because upgrading didn't seem worth it. So thank you Astro Bot for making me want a PS5, and like the PlayStation nerd I am, I'm going to have fun guessing the references, and finally be glad some of these bots have proper outfits (Parappa isn't a cardboard cutout anymore).
You also thought Concord was gonna be an open world space exploration game, huh? Yeah, I was got too... The moment I saw it was gonna be an arena shooter, my interest dropped all the way. Astro Bot tho? Good vibes all the way 🤩
Stellar Blade is also worth it to get a PS5 for because is really great. I am having a blast enjoying it. Those Koreans are starting to make some headway into single player games after Lies Of P and Stellar Blade.
Concord got my hopes up a bit thinking it was going to be a single-player, squad-based shooter but that hope was shattered like glass soon after the cinematic was done.
concord looks great...though I'd rather it have been a TV series (or an offline game) concords biggest problem is it being another online team shooter in a sea of them
Yeah exactly that. If it has a single player mode which could actually delve into the characters a little, sure I'd give it a go. But thanks to the Playstation Blog, it seems the character development will come periodically with new updates. Why not just tell a great story with them?
Astrobot is the kind of game that I miss other "big" companies creating and not just Nintendo, the announcement of a full fledge Astro game has me very excited, it has the magic of Nintendo and on top of that uses the capabilities of strong hardware that can offer quality and graphics at the same time, of course Nintendo does magic with its consoles, but they haven't been purely powerful since the gamecube, so it's something interesting to see Sony doing. I'm tired of realistic games that want to be cinematic and all, but forget the main thing, which is being a game.
I never heard of concord, but the reason why I'm excited for Astro Bot is because even for a PS5 tech demo(never played the VR game) it was very fun and relaxing
The thing about Concord and every other full priced Overwatch clone, or Fortnite wannabe. It just reeks of desperation, it seems like they so desperately want for "This game" to be the next big thing.
The thing you meant to highlight is how those are free whereas Concord is paid. Y'all too busy yapping you forget all the best shooters came from paid era. Concord comes paid and you find complaint in it. You are just whiners. I see no desperation in wanting the next big title
@@TheKyuber I know, but I think they should’ve had started to work on the game earlier to hit the summer break time, it’s the perfect game to play on a hot, sunny day
Being completely honest, my biggest issue with Concord is how shitty the gameplay looks. 'cause if you actually watch and pay attention, (and if you are a player of it already) you'll see just how much they yoinked straight from Destiny 2. Even to the point of an outright theft of the Icarus Dash, camera movement and all. It's just a massive miss in all regards, and the theft doesn't help.
I REFUSE to look at ANY footage of that new “AstroBor” game. I pre-ordered it. Sony made “Little Big Planet”. So this new game is gonna definitely be 🔥
@HorseJoint wish they'd bring back LBP properly. I enjoyed Sackboy A Big Adventure a lot, and Astro's Playroom. Dreams unfortunately didn't quite hit the mark by not having multiplayer, I'm gutted the hype for that game fizzled out
@@lombaxmatt3894 “Dreams” actually grew on me, the more I ACTUALLY took time to play it. “LBP” sadly went out wit a Wimper, cause I also LOVED the older games. I wasn’t a fan of the games after “LBP2” honestly.
@HorseJoint i loved Dreams and playing the games people made, but what I loved about LBP is the community, being able to make and play things together. Dreams is very impressive, but LBP had the multiplayer and community aspect to it too LBP Vita is my favourite of the series to be honest, followed closely by LBP2. I still really like 3, I don't think it's *as* bad as it often gets made out to be but it is still an unpolished mess
What would be better is either turn Concord into a normal single player game, or take the really good looking visuals (that I wont lie it the only thing it's actually got going for it) and make a tv/streaming series or movie out of it. Honestly the latter really should be done more for alot games like this. You put time into these beatiful cutscenes and characters but make a bland DOA game out of it. Make a movie or series for gods sake that I can just sit back and binge watch. You got Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Netflix, and more you pitch to.
It would not succeed there ether because as a series it will be like we have Guardians of the Galaxy at home kind of situation. Not to mention that despite the cutscene looking great what you need to make a whole movie or series like that is a completely different game if you excuse me the pun.
I hope all of us complaining do go out and support Astro Bot and not have another HiFi Rush situation (partially Xbox's fault for putting it on GamePass day 1). There are a lot of slightly smaller scale games coming out and I hope gamers as a whole do go out and support them and complete them. I think out complaints are empty until then. Still gutted Sony cut Japan Studios, but glad Team Asobi remained. Astro Bot deserves to have people excited for it!
Have been gutted about Japan Studios' closure for a while. With a Gravity Rush movie in the works (and some Japan Studio staff moving to Asobi) I hope one day we might see a new Gravity Rush
@@lombaxmatt3894 The thing about Gravity Rush is that it's director is the same one as Sillent Hill, and I think that guy is hands full on the dubious remake.
Remember when Jim Ryan left they said they canceled a bunch of live service games? This one was probably too far in development to pull the plug so they’re gonna shove it down our throats to keep the loss of revenue as low as possible
I watched the presentation during school because I was hoping that they had spider man 2 dlc and I just screamed of excitement when I saw the Astro bot trailer and everyone looked at me weird
Microsoft allow the developers to make what they want, it isn't that they're making Rare develop SoT, but rather that's what Rare want to do. I recommend Canadian Guy Eh's recent video about why there hasn't been a new Banjo game in so long
At 4:02, you asked "Why does it say I need psplus for this game?" Is because PSPlus is for Playstation is what Game Pass Core is for Xbox, aka it is how you play online multiplayer games, so that is why with every online multiplayer game is shown on these showcases is these are shown.
Apologies if i didn't word the point properly - PS Plus isn't required for F2P multiplayer games like Fortnite, Rocket League and Overwatch 2, so most people will stick to those games
Why do AAA companies keep making live service games. They just gonna shut it down in less than a year because it didn't make a billion dollars in a month
The idea of the PS6 brings a question to mind. How much more "real" can your characters truly get? How many more bits can you shove into a face before it's either uncanny or just unnoticeable. Other channels already noted the lack of significant change between 4 and 5. Upping the graphics more will just cost more money and yield the exact same profit if not less than it did when when you brought in the PS4.
As someone in their 30s, part of what gets me super hyped for Astro Bot is it reminds me so much of the games Sony used to put out most during the PS1 and 2 generations. The music in the trailer was also super catchy, that “I am Astro Bot!” is stuck in my head and makes me happy.
Just hope all the people happy about Astro actually buy the game on release so it won't become another failed platformer. Because many get excited but don't support such games with their money and only buy them at heavy discount much later etc at best while they run to buy the next big realistic title like God of War or The Last of Us on release. That is why we don't get more Sly Cooper etc. Because everyone was praising the game but the sales weren't that big.
@@SIPEROTH I think Sly Cooper and Jak and Daaxter have both had a massive explosion in popularity after Ratchet and Clank became more mainstream in 2016. If Crash 4 is anything to go by, a new game from these 2 franchises could be a sure hit. I do hope people buy Astro Bot. It's been announced to be $60 which is fine by me, it's the same price Nintendo charge for all their platformers, and if it were priced cheaper, it would only fuel the idea that platformers are a lesser genre, which couldn't be farther from the truth
here is the problem. games take between 3-5 years to finnish these days... so following trends is a bad idea... once ur game comes out that trend have shifted. With that said, people should wait and see how concord plays... not a game for me though. The only live serivec game i have ever got into is Helldivers 2.... i cant see anything toping that for me. Astrobot is needed!!! and looks like fire!
I think games that also tried to fully utilize the PS5 hardware were Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Although I prefer more serious story-driven games, the charm, innocence and fun oozing from Astro Bot is infectious. Plus, it is a fun way of demonstrating the full capability of the PS5 with experience most can safely get into. Astro Bot's Playroom is also being used to casually say: "Oh yeah! If you like this, there is a full game you can get if you are interested!"
I actually don't know a lot of folks cautiously optimistic and interested in Concord. Lot of Overwatch fans were scorned by Overwatch 2 and ActivisionBlizzard's general scumminess. Valorant being by Riot isn't much better. For my friends who really like Hero Shooters, they've felt like there's not been anything that good to scratch the itch since Overwatch 2 bombed. They're just kinda using TF2 to hold them over for something new, so maybe Concord can be that.
Overwatch 2 is still one of the most played games it didn’t bomb at all. The fanbase was angry, but they’re still there. Same for me I’ve completely checked out of online gaming, overwatch release in 2016 was what revived my interest. No other online game will ever be like overwatch😢
@djhurt4005 I'm so glad Astro Bot is everything we were expecting it to be. Also still in disbelief i predicted Firewalk's closure, it's mental that studios closing after a failed launch is even something to predict. Hope the staff have found new jobs 🙏
Also the pricepoint has just been announced at $40 I'm glad they're not going for the exploitive tactic of F2P with "physical copies", but I don't know how well the game will do with a medium price tag At least it's not $70 though, so it might convince more people to pick it up
@qawtaw1 ive seen the game has closed down but haven't heard anything of the studio yet Also huge shoutout to the 69 players that got the platinum lmao. Probably the rarest platinum trophy haha
@@lombaxmatt3894 I couldn't provide a source but I heard it somewhere. Even if they haven't closed it's almost certain they will. $200,000,000 fails aren't something a lot of companies can come back from
I don't think it is even doing anything too different from Mario Odyssey or Sackboy Adventure, but it is such a highly polished, charming game, using all of the PS5 features, and is a genre that isn't as saturated as live service, Soulslikes, and Action-Adventure open world RPGs.
Might be the odd man out but I thought the State of play was good. I even thought Concord looked interesting. It’s a bit strange when people complain about Sony only making single player, cinematic experiences but then when they make more multiplayer experiences their trashed on.
@willthegreat1 Glad to hear you enjoyed it! I agree that the double-standard of single-player cinematic game hate and also the multiplayer hate is a bit unfair, but also I've recently been playing Uncharted for the first time and loving them, up to the 3rd game now. I wish we got more multiplayer games like Modnation Racers or LBP, just a smaller scale title with a strong sense of community. Dreams felt like it could've been that, but not having multiplayer was a huge missed opportunity
@@lombaxmatt3894 I swear. Say what you want about the ps3 era but it had some real bangers. LBP, Modnation, R&C tools of destruction and crack in time, Resistance, InFAMOUSE 1 & 2, uncharted and even PlayStation All stars had its own unique charm that I feel we don’t see as often now unfortunately. It irks me to see good games get shafted because they’re either too similar to other games or the genre is over saturated. It’s not always the companies fault, sometimes gamers change their minds way too often. Also Dreams should of been SO much more then it turned out to be. I still go back to it every once in awhile. I thought for sure they added a multiplayer update to it.
I can agree that Silent Hill 2 is at least justified in that it isn't playable, but it's not like the original couldn't be added to the PS Plus Library tbf But also yes I think Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection, The Last of Us Part 1 and 2, Until Dawn, etc, all fall under the umbrella of being pointless and a cash grab, I'm not defending TLOU2 remake nor do I ever intend to Spider-Man Remastered was only £20, and is a great deal for anyone who didn't play the original as the DLC alone is that price. But the ones listed above are full price despite being perfectly playable already
@user-to4zl8wf2n To be fair yeah I'm not too mad about GoW Ragnarok PC, I'm glad it'll be there for people who want it especially because 2018 is already on there
One of the big reasons why Concord was not received well is because the hard-core Playstation audience does not buy a PlayStation for these types of games. Also another reason that hurt it is people are waiting for those big announcements from their favorite franchises from PlayStation. The reality is Concord is targeting a very casual audience type of person, and they’re making a huge mistake they’re trying to charge for it.
Thanks for the feedback :) I didn't think of the different ways people might enjoy the video, I'll make sure to be more concise when introducing a new topic in future videos :) Thank you 😁
I just want a new Ape Escape man, it's been like 13 years since the last spinoff and nearly 20 years since the last mainline game. Sony needs to revive their Japanese franchises instead of leaving them behind in the dirt.
Closing Japan Studio was one of the worst decisions under Jim Ryan's management. I hope Astro Bot succeeds and more budget will be put towards Japanese developers

I feel If you got to grow up in the 90's, It really did feel like the future of gaming was going to be awesome. It wasn't about graphics. It was physics effects, art styles, a range of gameplay modes, gameplay mechanics, damage effects, environmental interaction, engaging AI to play against in single player mode, CPU bots in offline modes, just good AI in games campaigns. Current video games focus on graphical nitpicking. It seems they forgot how much players enjoyed physics effects & other aspects that make games fun. Quirky graphics can work, if a creative art style is used. Add engaging CPU AI, gameplay modes, the list goes on.. idk what happened? Also: {We have seen that even if companies delay games, it isn't improving the quality of games being released. Which is a sign there is a MUCH DEEPER issue going on with modern games. No excuses, devs used to make great games with much less and they would have given anything to have certain capabilities to utilize that are available today. It just takes actual passion, focus & talent to make great games. Sidenote: It's so crazy how many people are still supporting super mega rich companies putting out unacceptable products.. i don't understand certain people. I don't understand how certain companies can be messing up so badly. It's frustrating that other passionate people are not allowed to make a version of a type of game that we used to have but no longer get anymore.. Yet these huge companies get full control over if an unused game IP gets made & they do everything they can so no other versions of a game idea will ever come out. Even if there's a huge fan base around certain ideas and there's a ton of passionate devs out there dying to make a version of a certain video game idea.. that frustrates me beyond belief}
You're probably right, FireWalk Studios is done for after Concord inevitably bombs. Not my type of game anyway. Astro Bot is probably going to be a fun game but I think it is ridiculous that a game like Astro Bot is basically the biggest game they showcase. Where's The Last of Us 3? Star Wars Eclipse? Next game of Sucker Punch Studios? Next Housemarque game? Etc. Feels like Sony is sleeping nowadays... Anyway, nice video! You're most successful one yet! Keep it up bro! 🙌💪

@dapperfan44 Platformers are my jam, I grew up with them too. One of the tracks I used was from Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, a lesser known series compared to some of the others but I recommend it, the first 2 games got HD ports to modern consoles too!
Concord shows everything bad with modern gaming. And Astro Bot is a fun Nintendo like game with Sony painted over it. Games should be a form of art. It shouldn't just be shooters. It should have good gameplay not just good graphics. and should take risks so that they can improve themselves
It’s the only game that justifies the dual sense 80 dollar price tag like it’s annoying how I can’t use a cheaper ps4 controller even tho most games don’t use anything more than rumble
Plus if all the games have accessibility options to remove haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, then they arent mandatory for the game. So no reason a dualshock 4 shouldn't work
Concord is not unique at all. We already have too many 5 v 5 online shooter. Keep in mind the game had potential until we saw gameplay and before people thought of it as “DEI”. Astro is unique since platform is usually a Nintendo thing
Even though I'm way older than this era I did had to live through the 360 PlayStation 3 era after I graduated high school and it's just so fascinating that like if Astro Bot came out then it would have been shit on endlessly as dumb boring kitty shit that should never be on such a prestigious console like a PlayStation 3. And now everyone is absolutely enthralled in love and begging for it on PlayStation 5. So happy that times have changed.
I feel like youre overthinking it. Most people just see one thing thats a product, void of personality bringing nothing new to the table and trying to profit from a trend that died years ago.
One's adorable, the other is a reminder of past mistakes. Not my past mistakes, I have those, but those have nothing to do with Overwatch 2, a game which I have never played. You know, it's odd why I keep this comment going despite it being unnecessary. Kind of odd how I feel the need to act so introspective... is that the right word? I think it is.
Imagine only having a platform game for your console for a Fall game and it’s your only game for this year. Sony is really in a pathetic state right now. I play on PlayStation and I’m saying this. 👀
Doubtful, the main selling point of Concord is that you give a shit about their characters, and they're not charming enough to make the game stand on it's own.
I'm not buying Concord, I am definitely buying Astro Bot, but I hate how you keep on making a fuss about the membership, like for the year it's $94 (CANADIAN), and you get 3 games every month and some dlcs and etc, so paying for online isn't a problem for me
@thesmallestbiggie2892 I agree that PS Plus is a good service, at least one of the free games per month is something I'm interested in The reason I mentioned it wasn't to criticise the service, but rather Concord's forced integration of it. Like I said, most PS users have a membership anyway, so it's not a huge deal. But when Concord's competitors don't require it (other popular online multiplayer games such as Fortnite, Warzone, but especially Overwatch 2 as it's the same genre) it just feels like another point that isn't helping the game. The best way to remedy this would be if Concord has free weekends every so often, so with or without Plus, people may try it out. But I imagine after a free weekend, those who don't have Plus won't suddenly want one because of it
"another souls-like". Good souls-likes are soooo rare, what are you talking about? Besides actual From Software games' there's only Wukong that came some-what close to Soulsborne games in terms of gameplay, and that's it. Literally ONE non From Software game that has decent (still not on From's level) quality. So yes please bring more souls-likes - there's always chance to have another good one
@BigChiken44 to be fsir, yeah that felt kind of reductive. The genre hasnt really opened up too much and any new attempt is gladly welcomed. I kinda needed another game to slot into that little montage, but it shouldn't have come at the expense of judging a game we know little about, and one that seems interesting too. No reason it shouldve been lumped in with something like the Until Dawn remaster for sure
I never liked starlord or cowboy movies. Gotg was good because of the character dynamics, but this just serious girl, loveable idiot(hate this type the most) and "just drax" as characters. The robot was the bland western cartoon robots. And to not just be a campaign space adventure with a good story, its just a "multiplayer mode" game. It's like interesting characters don't exist outside tropes. I'm just tired of the outlaws stuff. Never liked Han Solo either.
For real, with the Sly stuff on PS Plus happening recently as well as that teaser from a State of Play way back where Crash Team Rumble/Wumpa League was also teased, I was truly thinking we might have something to feast on... Jak is just... gone. Not even a defibrillator with black magic could bring him back
By the way, concord look EXTREMELY similar to destiny 2 pvp crucible witch is not only another playstation franchise but its technically free. Sure the crucible has its mistakes, primely being unbalanced, but its just makes concord more useless.
@Jay_Walker92 Glad to hear the game is fun! This wasn't a statement on the game itself, but rather why the initial reveal wasn't so impressive, especially in contrast to Astro Bot
Because I missed both Astro's Playroom and Killzone. With the first, my wish was fulfilled With the second...god no... another hero shooter instead of gritty sci fi team fps. Disappointment of the year for sure, cuz it was among the most anticipated games of the ywar along with Helldivers 2 and Tekken 8(And Astro sequel)

Ratchet and Clank Rift apart 🧐🧐🧐
@@danielsmid3777 I'm sure Rift Apart is great, but I don't need a PS5 to play it now, since it came to PC recently. Though I am glad it exists for the sake of more diversity in Sony's line up of games, just like with Astro Bot
Sack boy….
I think Astro's Conquest would have been a great title for the game
Regarding Concord, it just screams corporate mandate project and committee/focus group orientated design
That is the vibes I am getting from it so far
Astro's Conquest would be great, it works well with the idea of him having to go out into so many different worlds to save the other Bots
And yeah I agree, it feels like Sony have a requirement to make a large budget online game every few years and this is the result of that
That sounds like such a cool title, hot damn.
@@lombaxmatt3894 Concord is the consequence of the previous leadership pushing hard for all their first party studios to make live service games.
@@dragondelsur5156 I don't think it is because the studio was already working on this game before they bought them.
Astro looks to be a Creative, High Quality 3D Platformer which is quite uncommon from the big companies.
Ever heard of Nintendo?

Short answer: Astro Bot is a good platforming game, Concord is Overwatch 3
The green guy in concord just looks like Walmart Yondu & Starlord from guardians of the galaxy lol. Like a guy combined both those characters for that green guy design lol.
if i asked chatgpt to make a sci-fi character it would create concord green guy
And that orc guy from those Raid: Shadow Legends ads
Good vibes all the way 🤩
Parappa is no longer paper thin enough to be called that :[
Stellar Blade is also worth it to get a PS5 for because is really great. I am having a blast enjoying it. Those Koreans are starting to make some headway into single player games after Lies Of P and Stellar Blade.
@@SIPEROTH True, I forgot to mention Stellar Blade as well (and Rise of the Ronin but not everyone's into that game).
Concord got my hopes up a bit thinking it was going to be a single-player, squad-based shooter but that hope was shattered like glass soon after the cinematic was done.
concord looks great...though I'd rather it have been a TV series (or an offline game)
concords biggest problem is it being another online team shooter in a sea of them
the game itself looks like shit. and the cinematic trailer looks like the most AI written corporate marvel rip off of all time
Yeah exactly that. If it has a single player mode which could actually delve into the characters a little, sure I'd give it a go. But thanks to the Playstation Blog, it seems the character development will come periodically with new updates. Why not just tell a great story with them?
@@lombaxmatt3894 pretty much how i feel.
If Concord were just a generic Guardians of the Galaxy wannabe, I think it would've had a chance if minuscule.
And also, not a very interesting one, in a sea of uninteresting ideas with a few cool pearls.
Absolutely, I think it's taken the spot from Wii Sports as best pack-in title
The thing about Concord and every other full priced Overwatch clone, or Fortnite wannabe. It just reeks of desperation, it seems like they so desperately want for "This game" to be the next big thing.
The thing you meant to highlight is how those are free whereas Concord is paid. Y'all too busy yapping you forget all the best shooters came from paid era. Concord comes paid and you find complaint in it. You are just whiners. I see no desperation in wanting the next big title
If the other games are free, why would your average consumer want to spend money on Concord, especially when it is just expensive to live nowadays

Dreams is very impressive, but LBP had the multiplayer and community aspect to it too
LBP Vita is my favourite of the series to be honest, followed closely by LBP2.
It won't work ether.
No one wants we have Guardians of the Galaxy at home.

Microsoft is sleeping on the fact they have rare, why would they make them make sea of theives for all this time?, and paid online gotta go
Microsoft allow the developers to make what they want, it isn't that they're making Rare develop SoT, but rather that's what Rare want to do. I recommend Canadian Guy Eh's recent video about why there hasn't been a new Banjo game in so long
They're working on Everwild, but there's no updates on the game's development in years. I hope it doesn't end up like Sabreman Stampede...
Gran Turismo Sport lasted about 5 years and made playable offline at End of Service. Polyphony dunking on them Live Service failures.
I loved the trailer music too!
And I agree, it really feels like a return to what made Playstation iconic

But also yes I think Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection, The Last of Us Part 1 and 2, Until Dawn, etc, all fall under the umbrella of being pointless and a cash grab, I'm not defending TLOU2 remake nor do I ever intend to
Spider-Man Remastered was only £20, and is a great deal for anyone who didn't play the original as the DLC alone is that price. But the ones listed above are full price despite being perfectly playable already

One of the big reasons why Concord was not received well is because the hard-core Playstation audience does not buy a PlayStation for these types of games. Also another reason that hurt it is people are waiting for those big announcements from their favorite franchises from PlayStation.
As a Playstation user I also agree. The PS4 was firing on all cyclinders by it's third year. PS5 is as dead as the Vita 💀
Black of 6 coming soon, xdefiant, Marvel's rivals. And valorant coming to console. Concord is dead on arrival
Agreed, the online multiplayer landscape has changed a lot and it seems Concord is stuck in the past of 10 years ago
3:39 and it becomes helldivers 2 popularity
Doubtful, the main selling point of Concord is that you give a shit about their characters, and they're not charming enough to make the game stand on it's own.
I'm not buying Concord, I am definitely buying Astro Bot, but I hate how you keep on making a fuss about the membership, like for the year it's $94 (CANADIAN), and you get 3 games every month and some dlcs and etc, so paying for online isn't a problem for me
@thesmallestbiggie2892 I agree that PS Plus is a good service, at least one of the free games per month is something I'm interested in
The reason I mentioned it wasn't to criticise the service, but rather Concord's forced integration of it.
Concord gives me vibes of trying to replicate Guardians of the Galaxy except it doesn't have the same charm as Guardians of the Galaxy.
Never liked Han Solo either.
it could have been jak or sly😢
For real, with the Sly stuff on PS Plus happening recently as well as that teaser from a State of Play way back where Crash Team Rumble/Wumpa League was also teased, I was truly thinking we might have something to feast on...
Jak is just... gone. Not even a defibrillator with black magic could bring him back
The fortnite things at first were for the save the world items, a separate paid mode, the cosmetics didn't start until later
By the way, concord look EXTREMELY similar to destiny 2 pvp crucible witch is not only another playstation franchise but its technically free.
Sure the crucible has its mistakes, primely being unbalanced, but its just makes concord more useless.
that State of Play impressively summed up pretty much everything wrong with the gaming industry right now, so...well done Sony, I guess?
Idk word in these gaming streets.... Concord is actually pretty damn good you probably should have waited on this one
@Jay_Walker92 Glad to hear the game is fun! This wasn't a statement on the game itself, but rather why the initial reveal wasn't so impressive, especially in contrast to Astro Bot
I wish concord was a co-op shooter with fun raids or missions.
Guys if you want an arena character shoot just play Star Wars hunters 1.free 2.new characters instead of milking the cow 3.good game design
Because Astro Bot is a Game and not a Service designed to leech money off you for ten years.
Because I missed both Astro's Playroom and Killzone.
With the first, my wish was fulfilled
With the second...god no... another hero shooter instead of gritty sci fi team fps.
Disappointment of the year for sure, cuz it was among the most anticipated games of the ywar along with Helldivers 2 and Tekken 8(And Astro sequel)
If Concord can't compete with Marvel Rivals than the game is a new level of bad. God. Rivals looks bad.
On the note of TF2, it’s less ability based Hero Shooter and more class based with weapons and stuff. It’s definitely taking a hit right now. Anyway #SaveTF2
everyone crapping on Concord were the same with Helldivers 2 and ended up with egg on their face
That's because helldivers 2 essentially shadow dropped and there were barely any enemy shooter games out there
@@dravenmartinez6311 Helldivers 2 didn't shadow drop in the slightest. I knew about it months before release and thought it would do well because the first game seemed well received. I don't understand how it was such a surprise to people. It really shows how much people only pay attention to the most popular AAA games and that's it. It is why studios like Japan Studios close.
