Besides actual From Software games' there's only Wukong that came some-what close to Soulsborne games in terms of gameplay, and that's it. Literally ONE non From Software game that has decent (still not on From's level) quality. So yes please bring more souls-likes - there's always chance to have another good one

Hopefully RGG's unannounced game is a sequel to Binary Domain, now that would be a surprise. As for Sonic rpg, to be fair, it's one of the least fitting genres for Sonic. Sonic is about being fast, while rpg's are the polar opposite, they are slow. Also, before delving into other genres, they should get his core genre nailed first. Both Superstars and Frontiers left a lot to be desired.

the sonic ip was never bad. just...mishandled for awhile. true fans kept coming back in hopes that whoever was making the next sonic media really understood the character. while frontiers took a more lore heavy approach and respected the characters it had spent 30 years building, the comics and tv shows brought a younger audience into the series' attention and the movies brought an even wider audience in. each one being a great stepping point into the character and world of sonic. just getting to know sonic? well now we can reliably say watch the movies instead of a hodgepodge of different games a normal person would never put real time into investigating. want to know the world of sonic a bit better? introduce them to the comics that do a great job building and exploring our heroes in a variety of scenarios. want a deeper dive into our main characters or want to see what makes them special? play mania and frontiers. its never been easier to be a fan or to explain to everyone what made you a fan in the first place. i love it!

My definitive sonic RPG would have the SA style of hub world, frontiers esc combat with some hint of mario and luigi with the role switching, item usage etc etc, and some Persona5 character into it, as in the GUI effects

I think games that also tried to fully utilize the PS5 hardware were Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Although I prefer more serious story-driven games, the charm, innocence and fun oozing from Astro Bot is infectious. Plus, it is a fun way of demonstrating the full capability of the PS5 with experience most can safely get into. Astro Bot's Playroom is also being used to casually say: "Oh yeah! If you like this, there is a full game you can get if you are interested!"

I watched the presentation during school because I was hoping that they had spider man 2 dlc and I just screamed of excitement when I saw the Astro bot trailer and everyone looked at me weird

Is it really rebuilt though? Superstars was a disappointment, Frontiers is nothing to write home about and Dream Team is apple exclusive. The films and series may be great, but Sonic's primary format are the games, and they're still struggling there.

Sonic's reputation was indeed in the trenches from the late 2000's, all the way through the 2010's. My own brother bullied me non-stop for liking Sonic. So throughout my highschool years, I felt as though I had to hide the fact that I was a Sonic fan the same way a drug dealer hides their stache of cocaine. Now, I feel happy that I can own the fact that I'm a Sonic fan and not have to hide it Although admittedly there are some of us, even if only a small percentage of the fan base, who can still feel the scars of the past whenever critics put out a review on a Sonic game, myself included

Astrobot is the kind of game that I miss other "big" companies creating and not just Nintendo, the announcement of a full fledge Astro game has me very excited, it has the magic of Nintendo and on top of that uses the capabilities of strong hardware that can offer quality and graphics at the same time, of course Nintendo does magic with its consoles, but they haven't been purely powerful since the gamecube, so it's something interesting to see Sony doing. I'm tired of realistic games that want to be cinematic and all, but forget the main thing, which is being a game.

Because PlayStation players are salty there is one hero shooter when almost everything we have is single player.

As a sonic fan since 2012, being a Sonic fan during that time was hard since anytime I tried to say about it, my schoolmates would just comment negatively about it and saying I'm weird. I'm thankful that now my schoolmates has see Sonic as something u can idolized for.

I'm not buying Concord, I am definitely buying Astro Bot, but I hate how you keep on making a fuss about the membership, like for the year it's $94 (CANADIAN), and you get 3 games every month and some dlcs and etc, so paying for online isn't a problem for me

This is the Redemption Era of Sonic

My nostalgia for Sonic X was what brought me back into the franchise. Coincidentally since Teen Titans Go! was mentioned, I slowly started to get back into watching olde cartoons from my childhood all thanks to these shows getting reboots in the 2010s. It all started with TMNT 2012 and getting back into watching TMNT 2003 and first time watching the 1987 series. Teen Titans Go! got me back into watching the 2003 version. Same with the Powerpuff Girls 2016 getting me back into watching the original and PPGZ. When I heard that there was a new Sonic TV show on boomerang called Sonic Boom, I automatically remembered Sonic X and went back to watching those shows including the DiC cartoons. By far, Sonic X and Sonic OVA to me felt like the definitive Sonic experience. Sonic OVA is kinda like the first Pokémon movie in how we see both Dr. Eggman and Giovanni controlling Mewtwo and Metal Sonic. For awhile I kinda saw the OVA as being an unofficial TV movie to go alongside Sonic X since back then it was a trend to turn cartoon shows in cartoon movies. Pokémon and Digimon had a bunch of that but Sonic X didn't, so why not? Nowadays I love how the movies are kind of like a live action version of Sonic X with Sonic and his friends in the human world (which personally, I don't mind human characters and wished they came back in the games). If the Sonic movies came out back in the 2000s, it would've fit perfectly with the setting that the games and TV shows were taking place back then and probably would often get categorized with other live action cartoon movie adaptations or superhero franchises at the time, since a lot of multimedia material were almost always trying to look like the movies. Overall, I love Sonic like I do with any other thing that I loved from my childhood.

While I learned of sonic back when i was a little kid with shadow '05 it was actually Sonic Prime that got me into Sonic fr. Then the movies and I went back and went through all the games (I especially like SA2, Murder of Sonic, P-06, Unleashed, and Black Knight. So soso so hyped for Shadow Generations. Im getting ready to play Frontiers.

Videos like this would have more meaning if it wasn't made by a hardcore Sonic fan. "Reputation" is Sonic's image around the world compared to other franchises. A world where Sonic Frontiers is compared to better open world games. And noticeably half-assed. But a hardcore Sonic fanboy is always going to paint Sonic's reputation in a positive light. Ask the general gaming community about Sonic's current reputation for a broader response

For Sonic's reputation to be fully built, Sonic game discussion needs to have mainstream and casual gamers. So far, only hardcore Sonic fans take part in these discussions which puts everything Sonic game related on the niche side. The cartoons/movies are carrying the franchise. With that being said, if I deep TH-cam Sonic's "bad or dark' error, hardcore Sonic fans were still defending those games anyway. L
