5:48 Okay, that's the absolute cutest thing ever. And now I have the mental image of Astro singing along backstage during the TGA Orchestra Medley this year
I just love this style because it, as much as it is promoting a game, you really get to know the developer and their personality thanks to the variety of questions. So glad to see this make a comeback!
Seriously, though. Every platforming game needs a few super difficult platforming challenges, so having some in Astro Bot makes me more excited for release.
Yes, and despite still being a small work force, this is by far the biggest Team Asobi has ever been. It is a shining example of when less can be more, if you have both a passionate and talented team of developers and just work smarter, not harder. Take note, gaming industry.
I am quite sure there will be way more than 65 people in the credits. Probably 65 people is the number of people who work from team asobi. There should be lots of other outsourced studios.
@@minnmaxdude I was looking for this format interview for few of my top games this year and I couldn’t find any I thought y’all stopped I hope you guys bring it back for real, (aka hope this isn’t one off thing)
The way Nicholas says, "what are these?! BEANS"?!? Brings me such joy. Really loved the interview and I'm chomping at the bit for literally any info on Astrobot. Even if it was right around the corner.
So happy to see this format live on at MinnMax. Also, I'm so excited for the new Astro Bot! The last one was one of my favorite platforming experiences ever. I hope they'll consider doing another one for PSVR2.
Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart was also pretty good, actually. I think it's pretty comparable to Returnal in terms of the different weapon modes via adaptive triggers.
Love that casual mention of Dan Rykert and Jeff Grubb. This was a brilliant interview and it is of no surprise to me that the creative director behind such a wonderful game is also just a really nice person. Game looks and sounds amazing - cannot wait!
Great interview with a mix of good and funny questions! Props to Nicolas for providing great answers! Weird question: What’s the blue vinyl in the top left corner next to Nicolas’ head? I know the other two next to it but that one caught my eye.
I already know this will be my GOTY. Astro’s Playroom was a free game that came installed with every PS5, and it was my game of the year. Astro Bot looks leagues bigger and better.
This rapid fire was hilarious. Props to Ben for propping up the "maybe on PC" question and calling Nicolas a coward for dodging a different question after😂
GI was great at bringing the developers to the forefront and highlighting their personalities. MinnMax has always carried that torch and this is one of the best!
I haven’t even played yet but I already know this game is going to be what I wanted! Thanks Nicolas, Team Asobi, and thanks Ben for this great interview!
The Rapid-Fire Questions series was why I subscribed to GI’s TH-cam channel. So I’m glad to see it return here (although I might’ve forgotten if you did one on MinnMax before).
If Ben Hanson and Nicolas Doucet would team up for some sort of comedic project, i would watch it. Maybe that's where Astro Bot could come into play? 🤔😂 Seriously the energy and entertainment you get from merely listening to their talking is amazing. I greatly appreciated this rapid fire format, thought it was a goner for sure. 😊 It was a pleasure from start to finish. Thank you. 🙏🏻
@@minnmaxOf course, credit where credit is due. Now i have to rewatch the rapid fire for Rescue Mission. Even though i already rewatched it a couple of months ago, in order to reach critical hype levels for Astro Bot. 🤔🤣
Way to carry the legacy of Game Informer. Love this format, and love that you can tell how much this developer loves his game. I will be buying this game at full price, more than happily. They deserve it, it looks fantastic.
A phenomenal interview with sharp, friendly vibes from both sides. One of the best YT vids I've seen. Would love for those censors from around 1:20 got removed now that the game has been out for a while!
This was amazing. Brilliantly edited. Love this rapid fire question format. Cannot wait for Astro Bot - it's going to be incredible. First game I've pre-ordered in years. Here's hoping Rescue Mission comes to PSVR2 too!
Ben! You are amazing at these. I’ve always loved the old GI ones. Keep up the fantastic work. Also Nicolas Doucet is awesome purely for mentioning God Hand.
I saw Astro Bot pop up for pre-order and immediately ordered it (physical media... Of course!).. I almost never pre-order PS games. I feel like Team Asobi is one of those developers, like Nintendo R&D1, Sega AM2, Insomniac, and Hal Labs, where you just know it's going to be amazing, and there is no reason for second guessing. I do have have to admit that I was a little disappointed to hear that there will be no chance for a PSVR2 patch for this game. I realize that Team Asobi would rather design a VR game from the ground up, but we PSVR2 owners (and there are several thousand more of us since the $200 off sale this month) are a bit desperate for 1st party PlayStation support for it. I would be completely fine with a simple PSVR2 patch for Astro Bot, displaying the game in stereoscopic 3D. Though I am also completely up for a PSVR2 sequel to Rescue Mission, along with the first game being remastered. I'll pay whatever.. Just name your price! -Matt
I'm getting this game day one and I hope many do as well. This game seems like a great time and if it manages to be Astro's Playroom but better, it'll probably be one of the best games of year.

Thanks for the nice comment, we love the format as well! Any help sharing this interview to ensure the format sticks around is appreciated!
The do you know how this whole thing operates joke, absolutely got me
Thank you, and it's true.
probably the hardest i laughed other than the atrocities astro has been in the corner waving at
Same lol
Has to be on all Rapid Fires. 😂
I went to post that same comment. Solid gold!
"we're talking Grandmaster Galaxy"
SWOON
AND HE WASN'T KIDDING
WOOF LOL
Yeah that was a very good answer. One day I'll finish the master challenge level of Astro Bot, I swear it!
The Rapid Fire interview that always sticks with me is Leo’s with Insomniac for the first Spider-Man. Sooo happy to see this format return!
Awesome, yeah Leo will return as interviewer!
I still think about the cheesy transition after he asked if they were hiring for a video editor 😆😆😆
I think that may have been my introduction to GI! Sold me
The fact he referenced the grandmaster galaxy is how i know this game is gonna be what i want it to be
Seriously, though.
Every platforming game needs a few super difficult platforming challenges, so having some in Astro Bot makes me more excited for release.
Astrobot didn't even come close to grandmaster galaxy. But it doesn't need to.
@@ManiLinkThe golden statue level was quite a bit harder than grandmaster galaxy.
@@emporioalnino4670 Grandmaster Galaxy was wayyyyy longer, that made it super hard
Wow Ben is on fire on this. Love to see him in his element.
The fact that he didn't dodge the question about a PC port makes me happy. I would buy it if it comes to PC
EVERY one on the planet must buy and support these guys. this is a real game.
This was delightful! Excited to hear that more of these types of rapid-fire interviews are in the works.
Thanks! The more folks that share this interview the bigger games we can get in the future.
Alternate title for this video: How to smile for 17 minutes straight.
Every day until sep 6th, I've been on the Lookout for any content - astro bot. And believe me, I've watched em all. Thank you for uploading this!!
We're here to help.
So, you also saw the leaked Mighty Chewy boss battle? That's like the only thing that i skipped so far.
When does the review embargo drop? Looking forward to watching a review before getting my copy of the game.
Only 65 people on Astrobot? Very impressive.

This about the same manpower who worked on Batman Arkham asylum
@@Kratos4ever94 Perfectly said.
@@hododod246Of course, there will be a lot of outsourcing. But 65 people for the studio is still pretty impressive in this day and age.
It’s not just back…… ITS F%@!ING BACK.
That joke about the bosses congratulating you when they die was HILARIOUS, Doucet rocks!
YES HE DOES!

glad this interview format is back 💪

First contact with Rapid Fire Interviews and I'm already glad you guys brought it back/kept it going!
Awesome, thanks so much!
This is probably the best format I've seen in the recent history of game developers interviews.
The fact he has Random Acces Memories vinyl makes me tryst man and his team because I know he has taste
I thought a lot of the music had a very daft punk feel to it
this is sick, glad to have this back
Thanks so much for watching and sharing!
Came here through the link on Eurogamer - what a great interview! Will definitely be checking out the rest of the channel.........
Oh perfect, so glad you found MinnMax. Thank you!
Love seeing a rapid-fire interview here! And also, heck yeah Astro Bot! Drops right before my birthday and had a blast 100%ing the last one.

Thank you for keeping these kinds of interviews from the GI days. Missed those a lot! Awesome work as always!

This is so wholesome! This format really shows you a devs personality in just a few minutes
Loved him giving Returnal a shout out, because I swear this is the only other game that actually takes advantage of the dualsense properly
