What I truly appreciate about you (as one of your 100k subscribers) is the total lack of celebration when you win a big pot. 20:50 where you make that insane call with the pair of 8's... most people would jump around, talk about how they're the GOAT, etc. You are totally professional, totally cool. This is especially gracious when the guy who just bluffed off $27k is sitting immediately next to you.

Despite the level of stakes…easy call with 8s. Yoh’s check-raise on the flop did not make sense for such a dry board..any plays after turn n river unless an Ace peels then have to call any bet size.

Maybe this logic is a bit fanciful but I reckon Mariano wanted Nick to call (he knew he had 10s or better) and win the pot. (Almost returning the £35K he got from Nick first hand). It was clever professional brand management. He`ll get invited back a lot with that gracious, cool, talented demeanour. Mariano`s subscriber base grows (as does his YT revenue) and Hustler can tap into that to bump up their viewer numbers. Win, win - even when you lose £30K!
The Yoh Viral call against AQ was God Tier. Like Doug Polk laying down a straight against Phil when everybody lost their minds.

@@alexbentley486 78s is a bluff catcher in this spot. His opponent is literally repping 88, 33, and maybe some AK which doesn’t 4 bet but the villain 4 bets most of AK , KK and AA. Mariano blocks this value range heavily since it’s so narrow. A lot of the hands his villain would do this with are heart draws and big cards around the K, like AQ Jt QT stuff like that… Mariano doesn’t block those bluffs.
Polks fold is more insane. He’s beating some of the value PH has but correctly realizes that his equity is not great even against the hands he’s currently beating, or he’s dead. He literally has the second nuts and folds losing to 1 hand, whereas Mariano is beating several hands. Polks fold is more impressive it’s not even close…
This guy is not even impressive. He ll go broke like all the other. At least Polk knew his fate as a poker player that s why he opened a casino.

That's such an incredible feeling to flop a straight flush. I'm just a recreational player that plays $1/2 online a couple times a week and in a tournament I flopped a straight flush my only one ever. The same one too (although it was clubs not hearts) 7-J but I had J/7 and the flop came in order 8/9/10. I remember having to do a double take to realize what I'd flopped. It worked out really well cause my opponent drilled middle set on the flop and the board paired on the river so he had a full house. Real cooler of a hand for sure. Congrats on your incredible two day run! Btw it's not fair to dismiss your great play as simply running hot, sure there's some of that involved but also a lot of great poker plays like the one against Yoh Viral.

Hi Mariano, can you please evaluate one of the hands I played recently.
I had AK (Off suit) in the BB. There was a straddle on for $6.
5 callers and I raise it to $25. 4 people called including the person on the straddle.
Flop: JQQ (Rainbow): I bet $40. 3 people called
Turn: 10 (I make a straight): I checked. Person next to me bet $30. Another person called and I jammed for $170. Just the person next to me called the jam.
He showed Q8 (Off suit)
River: 8
He made the full house on the river.
Did I play this hand correctly or was I over aggressive?
Your raise pre flop was way too small. Should of made it $40-45
You got it in with the best hand on the turn and just got a bad river, nothing you could’ve done different except raise bigger preflop to get the Q8 hand out
IMO, you made a minor mistake by raising too small especially when there are 5 callers called the $6, by the time it reaches to you, the pot has been blew up to at least 34 bucks including the blinds and straddle. By raising to only 25 bucks this many people in the hand and out of position, that’s where the problem begins.
Another thing is that on such connected paired board when everyone is deemed to have a Queen (especially 5 players including you are in the pot), a high frequency check is preferred rather than c-betting in this spot.
I’m nowhere near Mariano’s level, I’m also a learner. If someone else has other opinions, please write it down and discuss it together.

first; Mariano is not a poker God that can't be disturbed by a bad beat story ,
second; betting on the turn he would make worst hand to fold , full houses more rich and trips never folding , checking he got a worst hand to bet , a trips to raise.
third ; get unlucky on the river is part of the game embrace it , just count how many river he would won the pot and how many river he would lost, get it? or still think you have to win ever single hand you play?

It's interesting to see the hands that Mariano chooses to play. Notice that he is very tight. And no, Mariano is by no means a nit, but he plays a very solid TAG style. He bluffed 30k into 15k guys. I think for anyone learning the game, watching Mariano is a good move. He takes a GTO approach to the game and implements a balanced a strategy and it's very informative to hear him talk through his thought processes. Out of all the vloggers, I have definitely learned the most from Mariano. I think he takes a lot of players in this Live setting by surprise as he plays his range and not his cards like most recreational players. I am certainly guilty of this at times and am working to improve my game. But anyway, my main point was that TAG is a winning strategy and Mariano does it well. Another sick video, Mariano!

I was playing 1/2 NL Holdem here in FL a month ago and I no kidding got 3 straight flushes in a span of 3 hours!!! It was the first time ever getting one in a cash games and I literally got 3 of them! My first was a limped hand where I hit a gut shot with the 4♦️! The second I had J♦️7♦️ and turned it! The 3rd I had 2❤️5❤️ limping and the flop was A❤️4❤️10❤️! I raised and jammed after the 3 bet only to get called against the Q high flush and I turned the 3❤️ to nail the steel wheel! My chances on getting 3 SF’s that day was a million to one. Sick call btw with the 8 clubs hand on that jam! You’re killing it bro!
