The 97 call was absolutely incredible. I know you’re not always good there, but your ability to stay clear headed and problem solve on the river is really amazing.
My exact thoughts. Not until I started playing live poker did I realize how much harder it is to think clearly and stick to everything you’ve learnt in the moment it matters most.
His thought process in that situation shows exactly why he deserves the success he’s had!!

Honestly I would have probably made the same exact call the hand made no sense the way that guy was playing it and curiousity would have got the best of me also the pot was 40k and he went all in for 18k so it’s good odds don’t need to be right all the time. Great call Mariano

I just want to ask Mariano and Rampage what it's like to run so fking pure in all-ins. It's like they just easily hold twice every time they're ahead running it 2x, almost never get sucked out on, suck out pretty often. I root for them to do well but JESUS it's frustrating to watch sometimes when your own experience is nothing close to that

That call with 3rd pair is insane. I don't know how you did it. I am really not even sure if it's a good call. It's an obvious deviation. I mean, he has the absolute perfect hand to be bluffing you with. Ac to block the flush, and Q to block the straight. You kind of disrespected him there tbh. You should probably send a Christmas card and a nice gift. lol

As someone whose been playing for 15 years and played for a living for a few of those (back when it was way easier 2010-2012) I 100% concur with this assessment. For playing 3 years the kid is just unbelievable.

Vivian, playing over ONE THOUSAND BBs DEEP, checking that q10 on the flop AND the turn (turn check the really big mistake imo).... and then paying off Mariano's river 3b when he can never really be bluffing, as like 14 people got to the river for free. She doesn't even beat the 56, which is extremely possible after everyone checked both the flop and turn. Some (most?) of these players couldn't beat the 2/5 game at my local casino...

Buuut it seems like she lost the absolute maximum. If she chooses to raise that river (after everyone gets there for free and can have any two cards) calling your 3 bet is …extremely ambitious. Essentially hoping you turned something completely random into a bluff in a pot that not a dollar went into on the flop or turn, and why would you randomly bluff her so multi-way when her raise makes it clear she has a 10 (or 56) 🤷🏻♂️

The 97 River play was good, but your $10k over bet was a little bit too big. You could have got a Fold there with a $6k pot bet. The $10k was an obvi bluff & if I were your oppo there I would have got you off your hand there.

Yes, but not lately
Not sure the 97 is a profitable call or even a profitable jam for Ju. Ju typically gets called by Flushes, Straights, J9+, though his exact holding seems like the perfect bluff candidate with Ac and Qx. As for you, calling with a worse made hand is what pushes this call to bad. Ju could have AcJx, AxT, a few Ac9x with Sets and 2ps, compounded with rivered made hands. You were looking for an honest man in congress.
Now, the T8 hand was masterful. Much kudos there.

One small recommendation by boy, the commentary of how the hand ends up playing out, if it can come either at the same time or a second after we see the cards would be better, when you tell us before we see it kind of kills the thrill(for me at least) anywho keep it up!!
