I see the common theme of survival that is still relevant today. For some of us, it isnt issues like bread and butter, poor living conditions, money to buy textbooks. But for some of us today, these issues are still true. Not despairing, having hope and working hard if you find opportunities (which Singapore created for him in his first job tho he wasnt qualified, and hopefully keeps creating for young people)... these are applicable lessons for today.

I see the common theme of survival that is still relevant today. For some of us, it isnt issues like bread and butter, poor living conditions, money to buy textbooks. But for some of us today, these issues are still true. Not despairing, having hope and working hard if you find opportunities (which Singapore created for him in his first job tho he wasnt qualified, and hopefully keeps creating for young people)... these are applicable lessons for today.

While the President has to understand the ground to champion causes (which i believe KS and Sybil do currently), we have to be realistic that the President doesnt do it all. We still need to elect good government who do the grassroot work to understand the ground issues. President is key to understanding the reserves to safeguard when and how to use them with knowledge of the global economy, and the appointment of key office holders. They work together.
Because the Sg president main duty is to safe guard the reserves and perform ceremonial roles for local event and receiving foreign guest.
