I fished and camped at Low Falls several times in the mid-1990s. Back then the grass was overwhelming. More than half the areas were almost impossible to fish. We took long pieces of metal conduit bent into a hook on one end. You would smack that down on the floating grass mats and make holes to drop your bait in to. Hitting the top of the grass dislodged grass shrimp and often sent the bream into a feeding frenzy. We dropped small crappie jigs into the holes and just jiggled them a little to get a strike.
Note the red pvc-type pipes at 3:46. They’re also down lake from Low Falls in Stumphole. Anyone know why they’re there or what they mark. I assumed a “safe” area devoid of stumps just below the surface but no one has ever been able to tell me for sure.
They mark all known stumps especially in openings used by the majority. To get back around to Stumphole when the lake is low you’re better to go around to Stumphole to put in and go straight out and you’ll get there just as quick and easy. It’s called Stumphole for a reason so you better be careful running wide open or going over idle at all.
Most of the fish you are catching are what we refer to as bream. Shellcracker are darker in color and have that same big black dot as the bream but no red/yellow on the breast.
Go back the first full moon in April. Night crawlers will be the trick. 3-4 days before and after the full moon. You want be able to get your hand around them they're so big

Let the worm hang off a little bit more. It's a trick that works down there. Also they like green worms
