chapters 2 and 3: youre stuck in a loop created by a mysterious orb that summons different realities for you to fight and survive, this leads to a huge alien invasion forcing you to have to flip the entire island to escape, and this all leads to a war between 2 factions chapter 5: hey guys look theres greek gods now
@@omaralqau9008I love Kevin’s story bec even if it is just a weird big energy cube filled with darkness every time you would get in Fortnite he would be in a different place doing something different such as climbing a hill or printing a rune I miss something like that compared to the boring one time things we get now
I only realized how epic the storyline of Chapter 1 was when I became invested in that of Chapter 2. All the events from that chapter were only enhanced by those from the previous one. The Device...The Devourer of Worlds...Zero Crisis...Operation: Sky Fire...The End... We got more and more hints at what exactly the Zero Point was and why IO, the Seven and dozens of great villains from the Omniverse fought over it. My friends couldn't understand how I knew so much and wanted to share so much about the lore with them, but I didn't care. It was amazing! Until one day this story simply disappeared. Live events became less regular and more disappointing. The storyline became uninteresting or far too complex and I just didn't understand where they wanted to go. All the mystery of the first two chapters was gone. I'm sure they had reasons, but I'll never forgive them. The storyline was a really great part of my teenage years.
8:10 the massive explosion of the cube caused melting of the ice moon that was present near the island in Chapter 1/2/3 This is why the iceberg appeared in season 7. If you dont know, its the same place where the mech went after season 9 event and where the Seven rebuilt it in season 20.
I kinda miss when the storyline was just disconnected mysteries. But then Donald Mustard had to shove in DC and Marvel into the story for no damn reason. Why yes, Wolverine kissing my Fortnite OC is very important to the narrative.
You actually make great content, your opinions not only pretty much perfectly align with mine but it is all so well put together you need more recognition istg
What i liked about chapter 2s storyline tho is that explained how rifts, collabs, storms and loops work, giving us a protagonist and expanding on the lore of the zero point, and kevin the cube. For me C2 > C1 >> C3 > C4 >>>> C5, in terms of story.
The problem with Epic is they make decisions for a modern audience to appease shareholders and big corporations and ignore the part of the community that wants things to stay "OG" movement, locker, item shop, etc. Then Epic doubles down and rebrands everything into something "new" chapters, "metaverse" lego, festival, disney. They reinforce the devs that make crap nobody asked for like new UI's every other season and dead on arrival gamemodes like lego or rocket racing and fire the devs that made OG. They know what the community wants but laugh as they ignore you.
I absolutely agree. The original story was mysterious, interesting. Nobody knew what will happen next and when something happened nobody knew exactly what happened. It was mysterious, constantly changing island with interesting characters and twists. Now the whole story is disney-like BS about some stupid girl, who defeats all super strong villains just like that, because she is "good" and cant lose. What a stupid boring bland clieshed BS. Original charm of FN is lost forever sadly.
Last thing I remember doing on OG fortnite was trying to cover the whole of Dusty Devoit/Depo and I remember trying to stop Kevin the cube from moving around the map. Man I miss those days🥲
This video reads like a Chapterwunner who didn't give the new story a chance because he took a break and when he came back the story rocketed off without him, even though the same thing would've happened if he had taken a break in Chapter 1😊
I think the reason old fortnite's storyline was so good was becuase of how hidden it was, you got hints that you knew had to be connected to something, but unless you went out of your way to find things and theory craft, you wouldn't find anything. Everything was in hidden details. You had to put together your own theory of what the storyline was, now epic is just like, "here's the lore, and a new collab because we need more money"
I'll be honest it sounds like you're someone who doesn't try to keep up with the storyline at all, and this video is just another way of you trying to say why chapter 1 was better. Chapter 1 had to do a lot of heavy lifting storywise because it was the setup for all the future seasons that expanded on the storyline, it needed to have a lot of the events to give us an understanding of what fortnite was about. My problem with your video is the fact that you say chapter 1 story was peak without actually providing any evidence to why. 1:you give a very weak summary of the chapter 1 storyline, leaving out some key details 2: you don't actually compare it to the rest of the game's storyline, instead opting to make ambiguous claims that the new storyline is confusing I personally believe that the best time of fortnite's storyline was chapter 2 season 2 to chapter 3 season 2 (maybe seasons 3 and 4 but that's debatable). The reason I feel this way is because we were given an actual character to follow, Agent Jones a character that people could root for and get behind, this era of fortnite was nice and focused, having a clear goal and focus that players could understand. You seem like someone who doesn't really care for the storyline and that's completely fine, if you want to understand the storyline better you can do the story quests if you choose, just don't make a bold claim about something that you are clearly uneducated in.
I agree with both you and the guy. Basically imo we dont need the story to be spoon fed to us like in ch5, buy we also dont need it to be completely ambiguous like chapter 1. We need a bit of both, so we can have room for speculation in the community, but still have an idea of what is going on. Imo ch2 does this best, cuz it had map changes to indicate what was going on in the story, and we also got quests to have a more direct idea of what was going. The story from ch2-ch3s2 was indeed the best for me.
for me chapter 1 had the best story because of the way it was told, it had little 'characters' early on and so it was mysterious, there was no cut scenes or quests or voice lines, which made it SO good it was just mysterious, strange anomalies occuring on the island with no explanation pretty much, now some people enjoy a fully fleshed out story with antagonists and protagonists and such but i dont
I don’t even know what season is now. I play Fortnite sometimes but I feel like there is no more story at all. Fortnite became just a marketplace of comic skins, marvel and Disney.
i would have loved if you would add funny facts such as you would die if kevin the cube rolls on you or if you shot it it shot a lightning to a player in radius . still very nice video and clips
In chapter 1 the story was interesting and that made gameplay experience much more rewarding. chapter 2 was fun especially with friends but story wasn't very interesting to me anymore
Ok as someone who did not play during chapter 1 and 2 i still dont really get the chapter 1 events Like there only connected by a few threads and most of it whent only explored in chapter 2/3 and the comics Its like saying that the first season of a show is the best Like yeah it can happen but it generally does not make sense since this is when the creators are still figuring out stuff and setting the ground work for the rest of the show Like one thing is the storyline is a just a ploy to promote the next season and then promote the next season and on and on and on Like there are a few seasons that directly connect for example s7 and s8 from chapter 2 or s2 and s3 from chapter 3 one is what happens next Whilst explain to me what is the connection between seasons 3 and 4 from chapter 2 or even season 9 to 10 from chapter 1
I get everything els but why doesn't the Rock make sense? It not like he was a character he played in a different movie franchise. The foundation is a original Fortnite character with the Rock casted in the role with his likeness. It make more sense at least to me then other franchise being added as part of the story canon of Fortnite.
What of they did a black hole again for three days and when the server’s came back the first thing that happened was that everyone was in the rocket event and then the game restarted from season 4 but called it something else with a bit different map and the story turns out different.
