I am finding my skin is looking extremely oil even hours after applying this, I am only using a small amount but it is making my skin look more oily than ever before. Is it ok to skip the moisturiser all together? The cleanser does state that is removes oil without stripping the skin of moisture.

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's because the moisturizer is meant for dry skin, and your skin is likely not dry. So yes, skip the moisturizer altogether. Try just using the SA cleanser; if it becomes overly drying, then skip its use for a day or so. During that time, you could use the regular CeraVe foaming cleanser. So basically, alternating between the SA cleanser and the foaming cleanser works best for me :)

If so, I would probably try using it again over the next few days, but on a smaller area, to see if it's any better. If not, then I would discontinue use. @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Using too much moisturizer can disrupt your skin's natural moisture barrier, which is responsible for retaining moisture and protecting your skin. It can create a thick layer on the surface of your skin, hindering its ability to breathe and absorb moisture from the environment, ultimately leading to dryness.
      Therefore, it is important to only use the amount of moisturizer that your skin really needs. Generally, one pump is sufficient, but you may need slightly more or less depending on the size of your face. Additionally, choosing the right cleanser for your skin is crucial, as well as establishing a proper skincare routine if you have one.
      Furthermore, the lotion is not ideal for oily skin; it is more suitable for dry to normal skin types. For oily skin, I recommend to use a gel moisturizer instead, such as Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream or The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors Gel or G&G Hydration station.

      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@yuyukangkang5768 Yeah, it's spreading to the surrounding areas because the skin is an organism. However, it's also influenced by weather conditions and your overall skin condition. This means that if your skin is already dry, it exacerbates the issue as the skin attempts to balance itself. There isn't much you can do about this, except for reducing the frequency of use or managing it during the period you're using the treatment. For example, if you use the treatment for three months, you may still experience this effect for the benefits afterward. However, some individuals may find it difficult to tolerate, and they may need to reduce the frequency of use, discontinue use altogether, or switch to a lower strength formula.
      As for moisturizers, it really depends on your personal skin tolerance to the individual ingredients. You could try different formulations to see if they help, but it's impossible to provide a one-size-fits-all recommendation.

    Noooo! there is lotion and cream, cream is for face and lotion is for body

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the difference between lotion and cream isn't necessarily related to where they're used (face or body), but rather to their formulation and consistency.
      Creams are generally richer, making them more suitable for dry to very dry skin, aging skin, or areas with extra dryness like elbows and knees. However, creams can also be used on the face, especially for people with dry to very dry skin or during winter months when the skin requires more moisture.
      On the other hand, lotions are lighter. They contain a higher percentage of water, making them easy to spread over the skin. Due to their light consistency, lotions are often preferred for use on the body and are beneficial for skin types that aren't overly dry or oily. They're also commonly used on the face, especially for those with normal to dry skin.
      I hope this helps.
