      I bought one 9/01/21and it arrived at my home in Michigan 09/16/21, it has been a great E-Bike, plenty of Zip in it's ride. I understand there have been very frustrating Delays, due to a backlog in unloading Ships and Containers. Also heard the President of U.S. is considered using the National Guard to assist with the Backlog at the Ports.

    Excellent review, and the XP 2.0 is very tough to beat for the price. Lights, fenders, suspension form, AND a rack? Wow. You are right about the metal fenders being noiser, as they tend to resonate with vibrations while plastic dampens vibrations. The key hanging underneath, and being in a place where it will get splashed with mud and water, is my least favorite feature. I suspect someone could design a rubber key cover that would slip over the key and protect the opening while riding. Thanks for the video!

    • @nahnisjourney1406
      @nahnisjourney1406 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree about the key location. I have to fiddle around to get my key just right to insert practically every time. But, more manufacturers are designing their eBikes with the keys underneath the frame. I have a lightweight colorful key holder on my key. I’m very happy with the battery being inside the frame and not revealed outside the frame. My fenders are quiet. Sounds like your fenders my need to be tightened a bit.
      Stay eBike Safe and have a great day!

    I just purchased 2 of these yesterday for when we go RVing. Golf carts are too expensive and campground rental's cost more than the campsite. This is a perfect fit. @@LuisVillalobosYT I like them alot. No issues with them yet. Id buy them again in a heartbeat. Alot of people dont seem to like the seat but I have no issue with it. Last camping trip we rode about 21 miles on them off road camping on a farm. Seat is fine and im a 220 pound / 53yo guy. I did get a rear bag off Amazon to carry my stuff. For older people id recommend a step thru model. With the standard model you have to kick ya leg up over the frame and some people my not be able to do that depending on age/ size. The seat is too high to swing your leg around like a motorcycle. If I bought them again I would go with the step thru personally.

    I just ordered one today Black Friday at the $949 price with the bundle package that includes the upgraded seat and post, headlight, and the lock. They said it should ship next week. I saw several reviews including about three of yours, which were the most knowledgeable and informative. You did a great job, so thank you. I’m 76 and this is the first bike I’ve had in over 40 years. However, I own a 950cc motorcycle so I’m not too concerned about getting used to it. There are some newer waterfront and nature trails where i live (Eureka, CA) so I look forward to loading it into my car to get to where I plan to ride it. The storage tote is a good idea for transporting the bike. Where did you get yours. Thanks again!

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That is a great deal - plus quick shipping! Appreciate the kind words and it's awesome to hear from folks getting on a bike again. The tote I was using was an old Christmas tote so I'm not sure where it came from. I'd check Walmart and hardware stores near you. Definitely spend a bit more for a more rugged one if available.

    I have been a serious cyclist for 54 years now, pro racing too. This bike is by far the best on the market for this price. I am troubled by the 20x3 tires, I have a 26x3 tire-d mountain bike, and finding tires for this size is almost impossible. 3 inch tires are fantastic off road, 4 inch or wider are needed for soft trails like sand and snow. The next biggest concern with all these Ebike new companies is proprietary part replacements, we need as much standards on these bike as possible. Using any bike over 20mph would be dangerous and foolish for the unskilled, which is almost all of the users of these bikes. It appears the high-step model has a longer seat-tube, meaning a higher seat height is possible. External electrical cable routing is a major advantage, inspection is simple. Kickstands that don't use double legs are ALL useless. Some rubber O-rings as a washer for the fenders would probably eliminate the vibration noise. Yes the derailleur cable/housing will need protected, I use a soft handlebar grip, cut it down the length and use zip-ties to mount. These small "mini-bikes" need long seat-posts for larger riders, you left out the length of the seat-post and who (inseam) this bike will accommodate, very important! How tall are you?... how close was the maximum seat-post mark used for you? EVERY video except yours has riders in horrible position on Ebikes, with the saddle height far too low. These low heights allow you feet to more easily touch the ground, but proper seat height is absolutely necessary for knee health.

    • @EbikeEscape

      tire size always has some wiggle room. I ordered 2.25x20 for mine because I think 20 inch fat tires look silly and the 4 inch comical. skinnier tires also offer less rolling resistance and a smoother ride with less tire singing. Also you dont have to get the knobby tires, street tires are better in every way for street use.

    • @WildernessMusic_GentleSerene
      @WildernessMusic_GentleSerene 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bryannonya9769 I am judging by the video, but those rims look like a standard fat tire rim of 50mm or 2 inches. No way to mount a 2 inch tire on a 2 inch rim safely. Cornering, or road shock or high speed may have the narrow 2 inch tire break the bead and crawl off....maybe. What does your rim width measure?

    I just got my XP 2.0 ST. I haven't ridden a bike in about ten years, and never an ebike. I was so excited to get it, it was like watching for Santa to come, as I looked out the window for the FedEx truck with every sound of a vehicle coming toward the house. Now, I wish I could send it back. I called tech support on a few things and the guy acted like I was wasting his time. I explained I'm a female, whose never had one of these, there was no instruction manual to help me out, and still he was like...meh. I finally figured everything out on my own. Then started watching videos on the bike. Someone said don't use throttle on turns because you can get thrown off. Another said don't pay attention to the battery charge meter because it's not accurate, that you have to watch the battery voltage instead. Someone else said you should reprogram some settings. Huh? What settings? Why? How? One guy said fill the tires to 20, another said 27. Another person referred to down shifting. Wait...I have to shift? I could go on and on. I did research this bike before purchasing but it was things like how heavy is it, is it easy to fold, can a beginner ride it, how far will it go, what accessories come with it and which ones can I buy after market.. I'm beyond confused & disappointed. I just wanted to get some exercise, fresh air and sunshine. HELP! 😔

      Just like I did, she has already ordered lots of accessories for the arrival of her new eBike, like security chains, motion sensor alarms, bike horn, phone holder, helmet, and cycling gloves, jersey sets with long sleeve jacket and pants. All to match her black and blue LECTRIC 2.0 STEP-THRU. She’s so excited just as I was when I ordered my 1.0!
      The 4 inch tires doesn’t feel like a scooter to me. I think scooters have much smaller size tires a simple platform for the rider to rest their feet on. Not scooter-like at all to me.

From your review of that vs the rad mini ( no longer available) the expand 5 has down graded a lot instead of upgrading, then they want to charge $1600 for an inferior model??!!F that noise!! While I like the look of the expand 5 WAY better than any Lectric model, I'll be going with the Lectric XP 2.0 thanks to this vid!

    Actually, I’m glad I didn’t see your review before making my decision to purchase my LECTRIC XP STEP-THRU. You seem to have more negative to say about the bike than positive comments.
    I’m very pleased with my LECTRIC eBike, and everyone who has seen me riding it is very impressed.
    LECTRIC includes many accessories on their ebikes that other sellers don’t. You would have to purchase these accessories and have them installed. When I use the PAS in the higher modes, I simply move my peddles and allow the motor to do all the work to reach the higher speeds. Try that instead of trying to peddle and keep up with the motor.
    As I said, I’m very pleased with my LECTRIC eBike. Most eBikes in the same or similar style come at a much higher price point.

    the key isnt an issue. people just like to have something to gnit pick. The key is just fine. It doesnt brake off and its really not an issue to put in or take out, turning the key is like any key. if you can start your car you know how a key works, its not that hard and surely not an issue for making the decision to buy or not. and it makes it less likely to get stolen or use if it does get taken.

I'm 6'2" and am wondering if I would be able to ride the step-thru model comfortably, or if I would be better off with the traditional step-over model? Hi Greg, this might be a better question for the Lectric Facebook group. I'm 6' tall and feel fine but at 6' 2" depending on your inseam it might be a little tighter. A longer seatpost would perhaps help.

      If you are comparing the Lectric XP 2.0 to, for example, a Rad Rover or RadMini, the Lectic will have more peak power. However, the Lectric cannot sustain more than 500 watts without overheating, but the Rad can sustain 750 watts all the time. The extra power of the Lectric is nice, and which setup you prefer depends on your riding environment. In stop and go riding, bombing city streets, and short hills, I'll take the Lectric. But if you are going full throttle for long distances or climbing long hills, the Rad would be the better choice.

      @@EbikeEscape I hope so. Although not unique to the UK we're also limited to 250w (not peak), 15.5mph and throttles can only provide up to 3-4mph of power (unless being used on private land with permission).
      Most of the people I've spoken to about the rules/regulations agree that there should be some kind of speed limit but not necessarily as strict with how much power you can have.
      Having said that I was still surprised the first time rode my E-Bike with how much power it felt like it was giving me.
      The bike I've got is a very basic 16' wheel folder with a 250w front hub and cadence sensor which isn't always the most accurate as well as a 10.4ah battery.
      I've found that having the motor in the front wheel isn't always ideal as it can sometimes really struggle to get proper traction on anything other than tarmac/concrete and I can't say it always feels safe to ride in wet weather.
      I hope to get something better in the future once I've saved up enough and hopefully by then some of the better features on the more expensive bikes will have tricked down to more affordable ones.
